My wife, 4-year old and myself stayed at the Coral Keys Bungalow for two nights in early October. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we could drive our car into the small yard and park within a gated, fenced area. The garden was very nice and included was a very filling breakfast brought to our patio each morning of our stay. The room itself, however, was less than satisfying. I would say that the cleaning staff needs to pay closer attention to cleaning the blinds, as the dust had accumulated for what looked liked months of neglect. We also noticed many hairs on the floor from previous tenants. Bathroom was small, no or little hot water, and we generally bumped our heads each time we entered the bathroom. Nice to have cable tv plus a small dvd selection with the included dvd player, but we were unable to relax and enjoy the tv and movies in the evenings due to having only a small wicker futon couch to sit on. Not at all comfortable. The bed was rock hard, as were the pillows, and sleep was difficult. The staff was excellent and really tried hard. Offered excellent ideas for local favorites, and many favorites. I had the idea that the cleanliness problems lied within ownership, not staffing, but I could be wrong. About $50 a night and we had to book online, through a service, as we were unable to locate the property phone number otherwise. Nice safe neighborhood, short walk to a beautiful Thai beach with great seafood restaurants! We would return to the area again for this particular beach, but not to the Coral Keys. Perhaps we will check out Ocean Breeze, the higher end property across the street, under same ownership.

We stayed at this bungalow (I think there's just one) in June 2007. It's a comfortable, quiet location you can chill out in, while being just a short drive from Hua Hin. When you're trying to get to Coral Keys, you should ask for Ocean Breeze, because they're in the same place managed by the same people. Drivers might know Ocean Breeze but not Coral Keys.

The bungalow was quite large, with a double bed and single bed, and a living room entrance with TV and free DVDs. It's a great deal for the size and price (1150 Baht in low season), especially with the huge yard! Your private grounds are landscaped with places to sit and and lounge. Breakfast is included and brought right to your patio in the morning (once you catch housekeeping's attention!).

The staff at Coral Keys was very helpful, laid back and informal. If you needed anything at any time, you could just flag a staff member down or go across the lane to find someone. The manager was very eager in making suggestions how to get around and things to do, especially what is popular with Thai people. He also speaks English well.

We visited the Hua Hin area during low season, and during the week. As a result, we pretty much had the nearby Takiab Beach to ourselves! The beach itself is quite rugged and undeveloped, unlike the fine white sands of Hua Hin Beach. We were told that Takiab Beach is more popular with Thai people. There are loungers available there, food stands, and interesting sea life on the beach (including millions of tiny crabs, plus jellyfish!). The bungalow is also close to Khao Takiab, which is a large hill you can climb up and see temples and monkeys.

The city of Hua Hin is just a short taxi ride away. Up the street from Coral Keys are a couple of family run taxi services. We used these several times to get to Hua Hin for 150 Baht (about US$5). There's also a bus stop nearby.

All in all, we thought Coral Keys was a great place to relax for a few days. Also consider Ocean Breeze next door, if you'd like the same type of bungalow but with more services included!
