e response to our initial enquiry from the owner we knew we were in safe hands.
We had lots of questions to ask the owner and he took the time to answer all of our emails in a very timely manner offering his honest opinion of the resort and surrounding areas. Lots of suggestions of places to eat and drink as well which was appreciated.
Given the friendliness and honesty of the owner, Eric we decided to make a booking to stay at his Condo. As this was our first visit to Ko Takiab we had lots of questions needing answers. The owner was very quick to respond to all of our questions and he offered lots of advice on places to visit and places to eat which was very helpful.
The owner was also able to arrange our pickup at Bangkok airport in a very keenly priced taxi which was a very useful service that we took him up on.
On our arrival at Bangkok airport we made our way to the prearranged meeting point and easily found our driver with our names printed onto a card and not like the other drivers with their handwritten signs. Another example of the owners high standards.
Our driver was happy to stop as many times as we wanted for comfort breaks which was welcomed after a long flight. We got to the Condo in great time and as we were looking for our phone to call the number the owner, Eric appeared and introduced himself and lead us to the Condo.
On arrival at the Condo we were taken aback on just how clean and spacious it was. One wall had sliding patio doors which had a great view of the swimming pool, the golf course and the beach area. The living area of the Condo was furnished to a very high western standard and had everything that we needed for our holiday. Very much appreciated was the starter pack of groceries in the refrigerator with fresh milk, water and even some of my favourite Thai beer! On the table was also fresh bread, fruit and snacks so we had everything we needed for our first night.
The owner took as much time as we wanted to explain how everything in his Condo worked including the very fast internet and the very useful Internet TV allowing the ladies to keep up to date with programs back home.
Moving onto the master bedroom it was very spacious with lots of hanging space for all our stuff and also a useful dressing table. The ensuite shower room was excellent with a choice of shower heads and best of all hot water! Remember, hot water is not standard in Thai buildings so best to check first!
The guest room complete with its ensuite was equally well appointed and, in line with the other rooms was fitted with an air conditioner unit for our comfort but remember the planet and don't run the air conditioners when you go out as it only needs a minute to cool the rooms down to an comfortable level.
Kitchen has everything you'll need for a comfortable stay with its microwave, ceramic hob, toaster and a full set of crockery, glassware, cutlery and cooking utensils when you need to cook something from the 7/11 and family marts which are only a few minutes walk from the Condo's doorway.
If you don't fancy the quick 10 minute walk to the local baht bus (10b to the centre of town, rises to b15 after 7pm) then there is the very well placed taxi hut on the street adjacent to the hotel. The average downtown taxi fare quoted by the taxi hut was b150 but if you barter you can get the price down to a realistic b100. Remember to smile as you haggle though as a smile goes a long way in Thailand.
Golfers would be in heaven at this Condo as its within a few minutes drive to stunning courses. I'm pretty sure the Condo owner could help you securing a round or two if you wanted. Who knows, he might even join in himself as I understand he's a keen golfer.
Within a few minutes walk you'll be on the beach which is much cleaner and quieter than downtown. There's loads to do on the beach as well with massages, sun loungers, horse riding and the like. There are a few vendors on the beach but they're not intrusive at all.
So here's the answer to the question. .. Would we go back to this condo for another holiday break? Without a doubt is the answer, especially if we could book this owner, Eric's Condo again! Thanks Eric, hope to meet you again
Stayed in this lovely flat during Dec/Jan. It's clean and nicely furnished with everything you need, apart from a washing machine. Lovely pool in the complex, which is spotless and well looked after. The beach down the road has an abundance of Sun beds and bars and restaurants, and the people we experienced there could not have been more friendly and helpful. Eric the host, was extremely helpful and organised taxis to and from Bangkok which is approximately 3.5 hours away by road. The flat is also only a 10/15 minute walk away from the 10 baht bus which regularly rides into Hua Hin central where there are fabulous night markets. All the food we experienced during our 2 week stay was exceptional - even at the small H and P Beach bar! If you try this bar, make sure you chat to Simon who is a treasure.
Must say I/we was very impressed with the apartment once we arrived after some delay getting to Hua Hin. What a lovely part of the world the people are friendly, quite and great location near the beach & golf course. I would recommend this to anyone who’s looking for something to relax 10/10
A beautiful apartment with clean modern furnishings ,well equipped kitchen and spacious modern bathrooms. Wonderful views over the green of the golf course to the sea beyond. A couple of minutes walk to the beach. We chose the Sea Terrace for umbrellas and sunbed with.service on the beach and those all important loo facilities. Walked up to the first taxi rank for trips into Hua Hin or to the night markets . Cicada was favourite for its atmosphere, music and amazing food stalls. Also arranged half day excursions with the same drivers. Swimming pool is very clean and mostly quiet. Busiest at early evening. Laundry and mini marts close by in the village street. A great holiday , thank you
Stayed a week at Baan View Viman , first impressions I think count for so much , and all i can say was WOW . Very modern , 2 great sized ensuite bedrooms , living / dining / kitchen all open plan , great balcony to have breakfast with awesome views of the golf course , wish id brought my clubs with me lol.
Was told the complex is only around 12 months old , pool area really nice , my children really enjoyed , and the most we saw in the pool were 4 people.
Location is excellent , 2 mins walk to the lovely Khao Takieb beach , great little bars and small cafes with sun beds on the beach , gets the sun all day.
For transportation into Hua Hin , Local 10 baht bus can be caught in front of the police station , about a 10-15 min walk from the apartment , or u can get a taxi locally for about 200 - 300 baht . Family mart supermarkets located about 5 mins walk , get all ur drinks and munchies from there…
Having stayed in Hua Hin numerous times i can definitely recommend this apartment , Khao Takieb area is becoming our fav area in Hua Hin and we will be returning in August .
Communication with the owner Eric was excellent , and he even took the time to pop over for a chat , it was lovely to meet him and put a face to the name .
In conclusion , great apartment , great location , great owner , highly recommend…
