“Homey and Great Location”
Reviewed 14 February 2014

A townhouse-turned-guesthouse, this bed and breakfast felt like we were visiting a friend's beach house. It is situated just south of downtown Hua Hin and is conveniently located right of the main highway and near a small night market.

For $42 a night we enjoyed the "Humble Bee" room, which was small but quiet, with an eclectic river rock bathroom, a rain shower, and a super comfortable full sized bed. The price of one night also included bottled water, beer or soda (one per day per person) and breakfast.

The lady onsite cooked us a delicious and hearty Western breakfast each day. She also provided us with a map of Hua Hin and a list of recommended activities and places to visit during our stay. Thanks for being so helpful!

I liked this guesthouse very much. It is near a night market where food and drink is readily available. Only a short walk to the Main Street and a song taew ride to anywhere in Hua Hin. Good breakfast and vegetarian was no problem.

I arrived by taxi from Bangkok, and even with directions in Thai to the Thai and English speaking driver I had hired, it took him three phone calls and as many u-turns to actually find the place, which is tucked away in the sticks in a not-worth-mentioning residential locale. I arrived late morning and was allowed to check in right away. The downstairs is the living quarters for the family, and upon entering there was a foul smell in the air, from the sewage in the street as well as something stale, an odour from the kitchen, & ashtrays full of cigarette butts. Also junk strewn all over the place, filling me with a sense of foreboding. The room: large flatscreen and DVD player, an awkward wardrobe with no hangars and no shelves. The toilet is basically in the bedroom with a glass divider and curtain that do not reach the ceiling. You are essentially going to the toilet right next to the bed. The problem is, there is one (dirty) window in the room, that doesn't open with a view of a wall next to which they have hung some plastic flowers as a decorative gesture, but this just makes it more depressing. Major issues: sink full of grime & hair, floor in "bathroom" of stone tile surrounded by small stones which is aesthetically pleasing but also impossible to clean. Hair and soap scum abound. Mirror smudged and dirty. Wand in shower rusted and broken. Toilet seat broken completely off. The bed is comfortable, and the bed linens seem of good quality, but again - hair! I found hair in the bed. The room was sprayed down with a heavy enough dose of some chemical air freshener that the pillows on the bed were damp with it making it difficult to breathe, esp. in a room w/ no ventilation. I spoke to the owner & offered to pay for one night and to my great delight, the owner saw the sense of not keeping an unhappy guest hostage.

We appreciate sincere reviews from all our guests, but I must first clarify a few important things.

1.) What this reviewer fails to mention is the "dirty" sink/shower, rusted wand, dirty mirror, etc. was in the toilet that is exclusive to our STAFF, not the guest rooms. For some reason, this guest chose to investigate and report on the staff bathroom, which is on a different floor and completely separate from the guest quarters. Unless there was some kind of hidden agenda, I can't quite figure out why the guest would report on this toilet AND not even mention in the review that it was a staff toilet. Furthermore, the staff toilet is normally quite clean, but our sole staff member (the manager) was extremely busy for a week straight because it was the peak of high season. Nevertheless, the key point is that this was NOT a guest toilet. If the toilets are in such bad condition, why hasn't any other reviewer mentioned that?

2.) The shower area is indeed separated only by glass, which is clearly shown in photos on our website. The idea behind the design was to make it romantic for couples. However, in case people are not comfortable, there is a curtain that can be closed to provide privacy in the bathroom.

3.) The guest complains of there not being a window that opens to the outside, but this is because he chose to stay in our smallest room. Again, on our website, we make it clear that the two larger rooms have several windows AND a sliding glass door to a balcony, but the smaller rooms do not have windows (many guests who sleep in late actually prefer that).

4.) Although most of our guests really liked the loose stones with bricks for the toilet design, we have just changed (as of January 15) the design so that the loose stones are now embedded in concrete, which does indeed make it much easier to clean.

We're sorry you apparently had such an awful experience, which actually makes your experience quite unique because we have NOT received similar complaints from other guests over the past 5 years. I hope you find a much more satisfactory accommodation for your next trip to Hua Hin.

It was in a very high season, and I booked the last room LAST minute (literally) in agoda. Due to the system problem, the Bee & B rented out the last room to another customer on site almost the same time. Both of us did not know until I got there. But the boss in Bangkok instructed his staff to ensure me and my wife to get one room from another similar guesthouse for us. His staff spent a great effort and time making sure we can get a roof over our head. I have no doubt that the Bee & B staff there can provide an equivalently good service to their guesthouse tenants.

Our week-long stay are the Bee and B was excellent. The host, Apple was so incredibly thoughtful, helpful and friendly. She went out of her way to accommodate our every need. The food was very good and the variety was pleasant. There was a mixup in our reservation and the management was very accommodating and resolved everything very quickly and to our liking. The rooms are very comfortable (albeit the beds are very firm) and the bathrooms made for an unusual, but fun experience. The location is quite central and made getting around a snap. We look forward to returning to the Bee and B soon. You can be certain you will enjoy it as well.

Guesthouse with only 4 rooms on the first floor. To find the guesthouse, look for the Grand hotel on Patchkasem Road.
Included breakfast, wifi and jacuzzi. Al the houses in the street are only with grounfloor and first floor. It gives a village feeling inside a big city. It's very quiet and only 20 minutes to walk to the city center. The rooms are very beuatifull and so do the bathroom. Only one staff person, very friendly and very helpfull. She really want to give the guests an home feeling.

Thank you for a local lady's assistance, she advised me to take a motorcycle from Bus Station (from Suvarnabhumi airport to Hua Hin directly) at Soi 96 at 50Bhat (with one big luggage), it takes around 5-10 mins to be the Bee & B and I stayed in the bumblebee room for 2 nights. It is a slient but safe place, close to the grand hotel and one of the night markets.

The staff at the bee and b recommended me a driver + taxi for me, he is very nice and friendly guy.

Room Tip: It seems that all rooms are on the second floor.
