We weren't expecting much from this museum, but it's actually done very well. The setup is modern and very informative, we ended up spending a good couple of hours here. The only let down was the included coffee/tea - powdered milk just isn't great!

This museum is located opposite the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery. Well worth dropping in to check out what the prisoners went through when building the railway. It provides a really balanced history of the whole event, with lots of visual exhibits and artifacts. The staff include researchers who can help if you are chasing information on a relative or friend who worked on the railway. Really worth visiting to help you understand the whole story. We linked it in with a tour and together, we learnt a great deal about my father's time on the railway as a POW. .

Museum that explains the history of the Thailand Burma railway in clear terms detailing the appalling loss of life in it's construction. Hold some artefacts from the time and historical records. Factual information used and no emotive terms, let's viewers draw their own conclusions. Cafe upstairs offers an inclusive drink and elevated view of Kanchanaburi war cemetery.

This center is a museum which dedicated to the men who were forced by the Japanese to work on the railway during World War Two. it depicts the struggles these men went through many of whom lost their lives doing so. It is a must see.
