This looked like one of the best options in Kanchanaburi for a number of reasons, location, price, services. We were not disappointed. In fact we were more than impressed. Upon our approach the hidden entrance betrays what lies further. It is a simple complex, quiet, but can cater to many needs. We booked the suite room so we were not impacted by the size mentioned by many others. In fact we found the room rather spacious but then again, we did not spend much time our room. All staff were accommodating, friendly and attentive. From drinks by the river, to massages and room service, at each and every point we were satisfied. We found the tourist area near the hotel very busy so it was always nice to come back and have some "quiet" time. Bikes were available for use as well. Sitting by the river watching the coming and goings on the bridge was relaxing. We only experienced the disco boats on a couple of occasions and they were not bothersome at all. Near to the hotel are a couple of trendy hot spots, The Loft was one and another property next door. They were busy and had great view points on the river. I would highly recommend this hotel and all of its services. I found it value for money and would come again.

Room Tip: If it is available and in your budget, choose a Suite room.

I was very surprised upon check-in. The staff was very friendly and the room was not nearly as small as other reviews made it out to be (I've stayed in Tokyo before). The breakfast was very good and eating it while overlooking the river was marvelous. The only thing that wasn't perfect was my lack of tipping, which I hope someone who stays there based on this review remedies!

After being sent the wrong way by our erratic SatNav, found UInchantree just around the corner from the famous "Bridge over The River Kwai".
Dusty entrance to an open plan reception, with prompt attention from our hosts on arrival. Plenty of trees and well tended lawns, and flowers.

Escorted to our room, which, as noted in other reports, was a bit on the small side. But that was the only negative. Superior fixtures and fittings, made up for the lack of space. Well stocked minibar, and, as well as a kettle, a filter coffee machine to make REAL coffee.
The shower closet was large (no bath) and a choice of fragrant soap was offered to us on arrival.
WiFi was personalised, so you could not forget the password, and had a good signal.

Spread out over the rest of the property, we found a Deck with seating, right on the river, a Gazebo with seating, a small functional swimming pool with loungers, and the Restaurant.

We opted for a late lunch/early dinner, where the Mixed meat Satay, Fish parcels, and Minced Pork with Rice, were beautifully presented, and tasted GREAT.
Breakfast was first class. A small buffet selection of Fruits, cereals, breads/pastries, and other Thai delicasies, and Full European and Thai Breakfasts cooked to order.
Special touch was shot glasses of a Fruit?Herb concoction, designed to cleanse your body!

Overall, a very pleasant two night stay.

As with others this really is a great place to stay along the river

The lonely planet sends out a confusing message in that it's far from the bridge - it's only 5 min walk
The restaurant is wonderful
The rooms are really clean just be warned they are a bit small but we did what others did by placing the table outside
Go for an upstairs room
Pool cool but prob a welcome in the humid season ( we were Dec)
Can jump off the train at the bridge and walk
The staff are amazing and helpful !
I would return in a beat of an eyelid

Have fun waving at the karaoke boats lol

POSITIVES

 A stylish room with generally pleasant furniture. It was well equipped, with fridge, kettle, coffee maker, flat screen TV, stereo, plenty of lights. There was a safe deposit box.
 Wifi was included and worked OK for browsing, but I couldn’t get it to work for You Tube and music.
 The hotel is about 300m from the railway bridge across the River Kwai.
 The hotel grounds are large and landscaped: beautifully kept and directly back on to the River Kwai with views of the rail bridge. There is plenty of garden seating. The river back-drop changes during the day: we had moody mists for breakfast and a beautiful full moon at night.
 There is a open-air pool – small but very clean.
 There is a small fitness room and small library with a computer.
 Breakfast was included and was very good. We had a cooked to order mains, and there was buffet-style bread, fruit, juices and cereals. I managed two re-fills of coffee – taste was good but it had little go in it.
 We ate in the on-site restaurant one evening and the food was excellent – very good flavours and good service. It cost (2 courses each with one large beer) US $30 including 10% (discretionary) tip.

NEGATIVES

 The room was very small for two people. The bathroom was small for one person.
 The hotel is 4.5km from the centre of Kanchanaburi – 150 Bht by taxi (the amount we paid for a metered journey of 22km in Bangkok that morning).
 The hotel is 3 to 4 km from the main tourist area in Kanchanaburi – there are tuk-tuks and taxis. The main tourist area is where most of the restaurants and bars are. They aren’t hard to find – just follow the road south that is next to the river. Restaurants are generally closed by 10pm in Kanchanaburi.

CONCLUSION

I thought that the hotel wais good place to stay. The room was disappointingly small for a new hotel and it was very small for the price (even by Bangkok prices). I would stay there again, but my travelling companion felt the room too small for what we paid and he wouldn’t stay again.

Have just spent 2 magical nights here and it has been one of the most peaceful and beautiful places we have stayed. From the moment we arrived the staff have looked after us and catered to our every need. On check in we were greated with cold towels and a choice of soaps for our room. Alex our staff member organized our room and also booked our tours and transfers as well as massages with ease and was very helpful with his recommendations. The staff could not be faulted. If you are staying here you will not be disappointed. The views are magnificent, having drinks over looking the river was romantic and memorable. Breakfast and dinner by the river was magical. Who cares if the rooms were small - it didnt matter! We will be back! Thank you to all the staff- a rare oasis at a bargin price!

Room Tip: All rooms are great - staff go out of their way to assist with luggage if you are on the second floo...
