This was my second stay at the Oriental Kwai and this time stayed for a week. The resort is a great base for exploring the Kanchanaburi area and we visited the Erawan waterfalls and Hellfire Pass amongst others places.
Food at the Oriental Kwai is excellent and good value so had no need to go outside in the evening. Breakfasts are included as part of the package and provide a great start to the day. The only complaint I had were that the portions were too generous!!
Evelien and Djo are wonderful hosts and their well trained staff are constantly attentive. Not just in the restaurant but in cleaning the rooms and maintaining the grounds. As an instance, our cottage lock was jamming so was replaced within an hour. The abundance of plants gives a feeling of calm isolation and means the resort is a great place to unwind after a day exploring.
Although I used a BKK Tours it is easy to arrange tours at the resort at quite short notice. Indeed Evelien arranged a memorable long tailed boat ride into Kanchanaburi.
I would also like to thank Evelien and Djo for being so helpful about a last minute change in plans that meant returning one day early.More
