When I visit family in Thailand, this is the resort I stay at.

Here is the warm family feeling that is the essence, the owner makes sure that you always feel welcome along with, that he managed to convey this message to all employees - not common in Thailand.

The resort is a bit "rocky" but the houses are so warm - you just want your ownsimilar house.
Available in all sizes to stay in, and cost from 300B (I think) up to 700B of the largest with its own kitchen.
The downside is that they do not have any food for us foreigners, but it is not in the whole area - this is the closest Khon Kaen applicable in this case.

I stayed here several times in the past and for 2 weeks in January. A very pleasant setting with rice fields behind it and mountains in the distance. The restaurant is okay but there plenty of places to eat in town including one directly across the street..

We stayed at Preuksa Garden Hotel for 4 nights. It is conveniently located in Phu Wiang, close to the market area.
The rooms are bungalow style, nicely built. The bed was large and had a good, clean mattress and blanket. There's hot water and new airconditioners.
There's satellite TV with a few English-speaking channels. The bathroom was clean, with an open shower area. The hotel has a small restaurant with some selected Thai food and also offers breakfast.
Parking is conveniently in front of each bungalow.
Only negative point we found is that the walls are quite thin and in the mornings you might be awakened by the noise of the many birds around the place.
