We are a family with 2 daughters aged 5 and 13 and have been coming to palm Resort for the past 4 christmases staying for a duration of 4 weeks each visit. This resort is perfect if you require some home comforts like a lounge with a sofa, tv and dvd player and being able to make a cuppa in the mornings. Its very secluded with it's own pool. The staff are very helpful and do their best but you must remember that there is a laungage barrier and sometimes you will not get what you expected. We have always found the resort a little chaotic with staff forgetting things, towels not in your villa or the cleaners forgetting to clean your villa. But it's the staffs charm and apologies and how they quickly put things right for you,in their way, that makes you seek forgiveness.
They had a very good manager,Ed,who no longer runs the camp. Over the last 2 years we have noticed the cleaniness slipping. Rooms only being swept, not a proper clean. The pool was so green and slimey last year we had to use another villa's pool. There is some staffing issues at the mo and a sense of low staff morale. The new manager is rude and very unhelpful. We would never go back to this resort whilst this man is in charge or even on the payroll. We have contacted the resorts manager via e-mail,informing him of this mans attitude towards staff and guests. He promises to investigate and says he will not tolerate any form of abuse towards any of his staff or guests,in any way shape or form. We were surprised this year that the dirt track leading to the resort was finally being tarmaced but equally surprised that it has gone from being a dead end single track to a main road extending through to the next village. It is a little noisy but the work is almost complete. Our concerns is the traffic load and noise once the road is complete. We have confidence in the owner to rectify these staffs issues and hopefully bring standards up to where they were 4 years ago. Money needs to be spent on painting and decorating the villas and staff training given to these hard working bunch. The swimming pools do tend to turn green after a few days so i think they need to revisit their cleaning schedule.
