we thought the national parks were all further up north in the country, but then we learned about Phanom Bencha. Technically, its a small national park, but dont worry you will never notice that. big enought o get lost in for days. Did a great elephant trek there, with washing the elephant after the trek. our kids were over the moon ! the local elephant treks we saw everywhere (in rubber plantations and fields) cant compare with this, a real wilderness trek. Recommended !

We arrived around 10.00 PM at the park and where amongst the first visitors. I travel Thailand for 15 years now, but have never seen a better kept place like this (exept the hotel gardens). The very friendly staff was cleaning the walkways from fallen leafs and carried them back into the forrest.

Just beautyful pure nature to enjoy. Picknick spots and everything you need. A wonderful getaway from dirty Ao Nang area (they should take an example here how a place is kept inviting).

Loved it. Will be back as soon as possible. And fore those who come here in Flip-Flops or High heels and then complain about the steep and rocky way i would suggest, stay at the hotel pool and go take a picture with the poor Gibbon at Ao Nang. Sometimes I think there are certain countries where you have to leave your brain at the airport by checking in.....

We went in February, so there wasn't much water flowing, but it was still pretty, and we went for a refreshing dip.

After, we went on the 2km nature hike. I'll echo the 1 star reviewer in that it was very steep and strenuous. It starts easy but then goes straight up the hill. The way down was similarly steep and very rocky. That said, it was a lot of fun and took me 40 minutes, though I don't think my flip flops would be considered appropriate footwear.

If you love nature then look no further, Phanom Bencha is simply stunning. Acres and acres of forest to explore, waterfalls, wild life, view points... Also some great value accommodation close by for those that just can't leave the place behind.

It's about a 30 minute scooter ride to the National Park and a short walk to the waterfall.

We had a picnic there too with food from Tesco in Ao Nang.

The waterfall is very pretty and you can take a dip in it but it can be a little busy.
