“no a/c, room smelled, but clean”
Reviewed 16 June 2014 via mobile

The owners were very friendly, the rooms were clean and the nightmarket just down the road. But my room and the bathroom smelled so disgusting... I opened the window but it doesn't even get cooler outside at nighttime... no Aircondition, only a fan. The room was very simple furnished and the provided towels seemed very old... I wouldn't go there again, sorry. I payed the same price for much better accomidations here.

We stayed for only one night to check out Krabi Town and Ao Nang beach. Unfortunately we came at the start of the rainy season so we decided not to stay for too long. The owner was friendly enough and helped us locate anything we needed (the shuttle to Ao Nang beach, the internet cafe, airport shuttle, etc). The room we were provided was quite large with it's own en suite bathroom and A/C worked great. However, there was a strong sewage smell in our room. We tried to tell the owner and invited him to come up to smell for himself so we could switch rooms but he just gave us a freshener spray. It was a bit odd. We just ended up using the spray and opening the window to air out the room. Maybe we should have been a bit more assertive with demanding a new room, but we were a bit put off by him just waving the situation off. I probably would not return if I had the chance --- I would probably just stay closer to the beach. However, the beach is accessible enough (30 mins) with a 50 baht ride from a shuttle that picks up in front of the 7-Eleven down the street every 10 mins or so.

We only stayed here for a night (we would have liked to stay more but as nice as Krabi town is, there isn't a huge amount to do!) but we had a really comfortable stay. Not to mention it is a bargain - 350 baht for a lovely room.

Our room was on the top floor which was a bit of a walk but was spotless and WiFi worked well. Shared bathroom but it was just outside and clean enough. Some soap for the shared sink would have been nice though.

Owner was very friendly and we always felt welcome when we walked in. Bit of a walk to the markets and port, however it is ideally placed for catching a songthaew to Ao Nang - just walk outside the door and flag one down! (they are white with the destinations printed in English on the side. Fare should be 50 baht pp)

Good location round the corner from the night market and close to town centre. Staff all friendly and helpful. You can rent bikes for a reasonable price just round the corner. The rooms are really big and clean with good fan. There is no lift so if your on the fifth floor it can be tiring with luggage but not a real problem. Wifi was good. Overall it was a good value place to stay, I'd stay again and recommend to others on a budget.

I arrived here after a long journey and not feeling very well. I had booked based on reviews on here but was a bit dubious. I booked the superior room and it was perfect I was so pleased to be able to have a nice room and relax and have a good sleep. The room was large, had a comfortable double bed, powerful air con, a fridge and Tv. My room (top floor) was at the front and there was a balcony with a clothes stand so I was also able to hand wash and dry a few small items. I was very glad that I had chosen this place for a restful night when passing through the area. The owner and his wife were also lovely and friendly people. Location very central and also opposite a 7/11.

Room Tip: I didn't see the cheaper rooms, but would highly recommend the top floor superior room.

We needed to pull a one nighter in Krabi on our way to Phi Phi from the north and just wanted a place close to the center with fair prices, good service and great rooms. Mr. Man's Gafiyah turned to be the perfect spot for our needs. The room (302) was in a 2 stars hotel level, good A/C, TV, big room, hot water, balcony. The location is really close to the center and if you happen to visit there on the weekend (Friday-Sunday) you must visit the walking street market (5 minute walk from the guesthouse).

Absolute bargain, totally lovely, provided you enjoy the sound of drunken conversation in the lobby all through the night, which will filter through the paper thin walls unimpeded to ring with crystal clarity in your ears, and the delightfully exotic yet somehow untracable smell of an open sewer in your room.

Room Tip: Don't get room 201. Just, don't.
