We looked at a lot of resorts/bungalows in Tonsai before deciding to stay here. The bungalows cost a little more than elsewhere, but for a little extra cost you get a much nicer, newer & bigger bungalow, with mosquito nets, set amidst cute gardens, with a deliciously cool swimming pool with cliff views from the sun loungers, AND a buffet breakfast with a good selection of food options. Totally worth the extra 500 BHT p/n over the cheaper 'resorts'.
It's set near enough to the beach/restaurants/climbing etc, but far enough away to remain quiet & secluded.
I'd definitely stay here again when I go back to Tonsai.

basic and pricey room. The stuff treat us very poor. there is no free internet. Hotel is in tonsai not raillay. The front desk stuff not smile once. worst service in any hotel i stayed. There is no power between 1-3 pm. (most hotel has no power during the day even at peak season). Very basic room for what we paid for. Horrible service ever .... The pool is really nice and beautiful. best place for breakfast in Tonsai. (3 bar per mins for internet use outside the hotel run by the hotel) Don't go unless you can put up with the stuff attitude

Room Tip: good pool and decent breakfast

Our bungalow had peeling paint, mold and ratty curtains. If we had maid service maybe we wouldn't of had so many bugs (ants, slugs and the largest centipede I've ever seen). The pool and restaurant was great. The newer rooms with pool view looked nice but were double the price. We really appreciated the beach greeting.

Our initial reservation via expedia stated the hotel was on Reiley beach, which we took the boat to and after carting our bags along the beach were told that the hotel is on Tonsai beach nearby, prompting another boat trip.
I hate to criticise people for not speaking English but you would think that a hotel of this standard, the staff would have a better standard of basic English. Every transaction was difficult if the one or two senior staff weren't around.
I don't think this hotel knows what it wants to be. It has the initial feel of a luxury hotel but after checking in , feels more like a backpackers hostel. Without appearing like a snob, ( I do stay in backpackers happily too), I feel for what you pay and the style of the place it lacks a lot.
Having to ask for the rooms to be cleaned, more toilet paper, clean towels etc isn't explained when you arrive, pool towels ran out by mid morning and it was fairly quiet. Our room door was left not only unlocked but wide open after cleaning. Staff appear to be really quite indifferent to the guests. There is only wifi available at a fee in the internet room, not in the hotel or rooms.
On the positive side, the rooms, when cleaned , are nice, though ours didn't have a fridge for some reason. The pool is clean and we'll maintained, the breakfasts were mostly really good and varied.
This could be a much better place with some basic management practices changed.

They claim this hotel is on Railay beach but it's not its on a bay next door, Tonsai which you have to get to by a boat at additional cost. Tonsai is beautiful but Railay beach is better for swimming etc.
as for the resort it may be the most impressive looking in Tonsai but it's unfriendly, badly managed and just not worth it. You have to demand that rooms are cleaned everyday and if you ask for toilet paper or towels it's appears to be a huge inconvenience.
If you are a climber this is a good place to stay but for everyone else stay clear.

The resort is nicely placed in the middle of the jungle. The pool has two levels and is very welcome after a day wandering around in the Thai heat! The rooms themselves are pretty basic and very expensive for what they are. For the same price you could get a really swanky hotel room in Bangkok or an amazing resort in Bali. The breakfast was excellent, with a wide variety of food on offer. Overall, the resort is decent enough although there are cheaper places on Ton Sai which offer better value for money.

We arrived in Ton Sai and primarily stayed in a lovely complex called Green Valley which consisted of basic bungalows set on a forest path at 600baht a night. Cheap, clean and cheerful. Our friends were next door at dream valley.. which looks like a luxury complex with a swimming pool and great modern rooms at the front....don't let this fool you!

One day we decide its time to pamper ourselves and book a couple of nights. The lady on reception charged us 2200 baht and we went off to the "room". Except it wasn't a hotel room like our friends...it was a TERRIBLE bungalow, much worse than next door with a cold outdoor shower and more insects than I could count and 1000 baht more than next door!!

My partner and I thought she must have made some kind of mistake so began to walk to reception but as we did the floor of the bungalow fell in on itself and my partner seriously injured his leg. He is a rock climber so this is of paramount importance to our trip and pretty much ruined the rest of his travels.

At this point we are both so upset by the whole situation and we go to make a complaint. This is the bit that completely let's the whole hotel down.. The manager goes off to check the floor because he doesnt believe us. When he finds out it is true, blames the weight of our bags. Then threatens that the boss knows everyone on the island and he will make our trip miserable if we carry on this complaint. UNREAL. He then tells us he will "upgrade" our room for one night but we have to be out by the morning. So we were ripped off, injured, threatened and kicked out because we fell through the floor.

The upgraded room was shoddy to say the least and also filled with insects, but it did have hot water.

In all fairness the lady on reception was very apologetic the next day, but it was just ridiculous how badly the other manager had handled the situation. I have a sneaky feeling that their change in attitude may have been to do with the fact they read that my occupation was a journalist.

I'm sure if you are one of the elite who gets the air conned rooms with the plasma screen you'll have a lovely time because actually the resort at the front is very nice. But beware you may get a terrible bungalow instead!!!
