The IBIS is a budget hotel and delivers on that. The facilities were reasonable, the breakfast was sparse but I found enough to eat, The hotel was pleasant enough, There are restaurants, massages and shops close by.

Room was ok, shower a bit small. I found the staff generally helpful.

Beach was a short walk but there was a lot of rubbish in the water. The central area was a longer walk but not a big deal. Usually got a tuk tuk for the return.

I was happy enough for the two days there and it delivered on my expectations.

I have stayed at this property way back in 2009; at that time the property was new and had a very good experience that being my first foreign trip to Bangkok-Pattaya-Phuket.
During my second visit to Phuket I was accompanied with a friend & his family; Remembering Good & Happy memories of my early visit to IBIS we decided to stay again at same place.
Upon arrival at around 4.00 PM late afternoon we all were greeted well at the reception and rooms were allotted to us after normal check in procedure. Immediately after the allotment of rooms it was told to us that due to some technical maintenance activity water is presently not available in Room-toilets and will get restored within next 3 to 4 hrs. So after keeping the luggage into the rooms we went out of the hotel to explore the city / near by area. When we came back to hotel at around 8 PM, we were shocked to see the lobby with almost 50 to 60 guests (almost half of the hotel's guests) shouting for the same water problem and now the air conditioning plant is also failed due to this water problem. One of the guest told us that this problem is there since 9am in the morning and it will take another 12 hrs. for the restoration of water services into the rooms.
We literally felt cheated as water is the basic amenity and if any hotel unable to provide this facility then it should not take any guest for lodging. This was not expected from IBIS; they could have told us before check-in about this problem. Anyway... To overcome this havoc, management provided free / complimentary dinner to all the guests but a dinner cannot compensate with water facility in the toilets. After having the complimentary dinner w/o shower we approached Head Manager and requested him to give the true & exact status of maintenance activity; to his honest he told that Problem is major & it will take another 24 hrs. or more for the restoration of water & air-conditioning facility. Ultimately we (most of the other guests) decided to check out of the hotel and requested the manager to either refund the money or shift us to some other similar category hotel. Manager Showed us few option on his laptop and we all decided to go for ANDATEL Grande situated at approx. 200 mtrs. from this property on main RAT-U-Thit road. We took our luggage in our self driven car (hired at airport) and got shifted to this new property at around 11.30 in the night. Although next day in the late evening hrs. we've got a call from IBIS that now everything is under control - water & air conditioning fault is re-stored and we can shift back to IBIS. But we decided to stay at Andatel Grande for the next duration of our stay of 3N/4D.
In all our first day in Phuket got spoiled just because of this problem at IBIS which is beyond their control.

Room Tip: Pool facing rooms are good and make a good sense for drinking coffee in the balcony...

I appreciate you taking the time to complete a review after your second stay. Thank you for mentioning your first stay back in 2009. We welcome your comments and feedback as we continually seek ways to evolve our levels of service and guest experiences and I am truly sorry your experience was not all it could be this second time.

I would like to apologize about this unfortunate situation and give you some explanation.

We had a back office leak the day prior your arrival. We put the board in the lift front mentioning the technical issue and inform the guest about the water maintenance effect the next day. Then guest could organize a day at the pool or on Tour.

The first statement mention from 10 am to 5 pm.

During maintenance this leak become bigger and end as main pipe breakage.

At this time we tried to fix it and offer free dinner to our guests, but it was without result.

We did not have any alternative than relocate our guest given the choice or 2 hotels in walking distance as you mention 200 meters at around 11PM.

We repaired on the night and make it dry the next day morning. Guest came back by 2PM
We would like to apologize again about this unfortunate circumstance.

At Ibis, we strive to provide a superior service experience for every customer; therefore your feedback is very important to us. Please rest assured that we are taking the appropriate measures to address the problem and prevent future occurrence.

We was this hotel with my 4 friends for 2 nights 3 days. It was average experience.
Main Problem was WiFi.
In room no WiFi. Other experience was average for Indians.
In Thailand TRUE Mobile is very good.

Staying 17 nights here on our 5 th night. Very happy here. Rooms are clean.serviced daily. Smaller rooms. Pool is very nice. Serviced daily.very clean. Staff are friendly. Location is more of s walk to bangla road and popular restaurants. Good value for money here.

We stayed here for 4 nights in interconnecting rooms, all in all our stay was fine there are some downfalls
1. Rooms are very very small
2. Power was a bit iffy we lost it a few times but if u open the balcony door it did let in some air
3. People love letting fireworks off on the beach late at night n they can be loud
4. Breakfast was nice but it is the same old same old.
5. Inconsiderate people slamming there doors late at night n early morning

Good points
1. Location is great 5 mins to beach n main shopping centre about 15 min walk
2. Awesome wifi
3. Friendly staff
4. Lovely pool area

Not sure if I would stay again mainly because rooms are very small, the noisy people n fireworks were also annoying but value for money cant fault it.
