Stayed here 1 night of a 16 night trip to Khao Lak & Phuket.

Choose this hotel because of the central location, beach front, roof top restaurant bar and the pool access room.

Hotel was lovely. Very well appointed and had everything we needed. Were travelling with our 3 year old daughter and so it was a great location without requiring a lot of walking to get anywhere. Most other guests were more into the Patong scene but we didn't get disturbed by anyone getting home late.

Room was spacious, attractive and the pool access was welcoming. The mini bar was included and there were free movies on a hard drive that were included too.

Food was excellent. Plenty of choice at breakfast and proper coffee too. Surface bar was the place to watch the sunset.

Happy with our choice for the night we were in Patong. Hadn't been to Patong since my backpacking days some years back. One night is certainly enough for me. Prefer more peaceful locations.

Make your own mind up about Patong but if you want to stay here it's a lovely choice.

Room Tip: Pool access with deep balcony are more private, and larger.

When reading reviews of La Flora many of the more negative ones are actually criticising Patong rather than the hotel. I make no excuse for Patong, it is what it is. Taxis are judged by the quality of their light show and volume of their stereo. You will see all manner of humanity and be offered services which might shock. Whilst there is a beach the main appeal to those who visit is the smorgasbord of bars, clubs, shops, markets and the general buzz of the place. If you want quiet unspoiled beaches then Patong is not the place.

Right in the heart of all this madness is La flora. It is unique in having direct beach access, something very few resorts in Patong enjoy, it is also just steps away from Bangla road, the Oxford Street, 5th Avenue or Champs Élysées of the adult entertainment world. As locations in Patong go La Flora is perfect. Whether Patong is your cup of tea I can't answer.

We have stayed here before and once again booked a direct pool access room. If you wanted to nit pick there are odd bits here and there to criticise, it isn't brand new, but for us everything is there. The complimentary mini bar includes beer and soft drinks, wifi is free and readily available, the shower is large the bath relaxing, we slept well and managed to create an enjoyable breakfast from the wide variety of foods on offer.

The Spa is excellent. It isn't cheap by Thai standards but an 80 minute aroma therapy treatment is to die for. If you go outside into town there are alternatives for much less money but the setting will be nothing like at La Flora, you'll have to dodge umpteen "special" massages and ultimately the therapist won't be as good. There are some more upmarket treatments to be had, but you're back to paying La Flora prices. As with everything in life you need to compare eggs with eggs.

Staff here are very friendly and eager to help. Everyone smiles and says hello, you just have to give them the opportunity. If something isn't to your liking then tell them. Incidentally this is a Thai owned and run resort. All the senior staff are Thai and they take their jobs very seriously. If anything needs attending to speak to someone, don't bottle it in.

We are generally pot half full people. We want to enjoy ourselves and I think we get the most out of situations. There were an interesting and diverse mix of people staying at the hotel and it was easy to strike up conversations, so much so that we found ourselves invited to a private party at the rooftop bar to celebrate the wedding anniversary of a lovely couple. A fine array of food was on offer as well as live entertainment.

We stayed here during Songkran and the hotel handled the festival extremely well balancing fun and water splashing with the fact some guests wanted to use the resort as sanctuary from the mayhem. They provided a huge barrel of everlasting water by the main road so guests could wash away problems of the previous year for passing individuals, particularly Tuk Tuk passengers. We were on the main Songkran "circuit" around Patong. The rest of the property was kept Songkran free bar a small celebration in the morning where it has to be said regular guests might have got a little damp. The guests gave as good as they got and senior staff members took their dip in the pool with good grace. It was smiles all round. The true meaning of the festival was emphasised to guests, respect was shown where appropriate and we even had monks arrive as is customary.

Would we stay at La Flora again? Yes we would. Is Patong the right place to centre your holiday around? For some the answer will be probably not, for others it offers a chance to let off a bit of steam.

Room Tip: Choose a direct pool access room.

Room had unique design, bath area no door. Hot and cold water in shower inconsistent. Electricity tripped twice. Sea view suite offers limited sea view. Very little privacy if no curtains drawn. Extra large bed and comfy. Towels too rough.

My husband and I stayed at La Flora for eight nights in April.

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful; the location was very central sandwiched between a Starbucks and McDonalds and only a short stroll to Bangla Road; and the breakfast variety was very generous and changed daily. We also loved the bar at the top (try the pina colada's!), how spacious the rooms were and the easy access to the beach.

The only negative comment would be the fireworks that occur throughout the night. This is a small price to pay for being in the heart of Patong!!

Room Tip: Room 121 had both a beach view and a pool view

Spent our honeymoon here and it didn't turned us down. The hotel is small but modern, rooms were big, has a safe, and the ambience is relaxing., the staff were very accomodating, some are good in English and was very helpful for first timers in Thailand like us. The pool is smaller than i expected. The food at the restaurant downstairs is good. Since this is a beachfront hotel, it may be better if the hotel provided their own beach beds/umbrella wherein their guests could stay with privacy while enjoying the beach, so we don't need to rent beach beds/umbrellas among those at the back of the hotel by the beach. It may be better if the hotel's beachfront is also managed by the hotel staff, we felt somehow unsecured once we step out of the hotel, we need to pay someone for using a beach bed/umbrella that is immediately at the back of the hotel facing the beach.. There can be some improvement at the hotel's beach front so their guests could further enjoy their stay. Overall this hotel is a good place to stay in Patong.

Room Tip: Choose the room that is overlooking the beach
