I had booked a junior suite in this hotel several months before our visit. When we arrived, around 6 pm, I handed the clerk our passports as usual. he could not find our reservation so I handed him our sheet from Agoda and he still could not find it. The girl working with him finally found it but it took them a long time to come up with a room making us think at first none were available. We were finally given one in the old building on the second floor where we had a constant barrage of the motorcycles and tuk-tuks blasting their music and a nightclub right across from us also with loud music. After having our reservation for 9 months, you would think that they would have given us something in a better location.
The room was very spacious and we had no complaints about it. However, while the bathroomwas huge, it was very poorly designed for anyone in a wheelchair. There was little space between the tub and the door that would have provided no access to a handicapped person.
We later learned the hard way that the afternoon shift at the hotel, the same ones that checked us in, had iq's that would not make double digits combined. I left a wake-up call fo 6:30 am and our phone went off at 3:30 instead and none at the time requested. The second wake-up call we left did not happen at all. Then, one day we got a call to come down to the front desk as they were having trouble scanning and sending a document we had requested be done. We went immediately down and the clerks told us no one called. Even after telling them that no one else could have known what we needed done, they insisted no one from the hotel called us. My wife finally asked them if there was anyone in the office and they looked like a light bulb went off and said "yes, there is someone else working".
The location is good if all you want is the beach as it is only a five minute walk away, like most hotels in Patong. However, if you want to go shopping, enjoy the nightlife, or eat at some of the better places in the city, you have to take a tuk-tuk and they are very expensive here. Most of them will not move an inch for less than $5 to $7 eah way, even if you are only going to go a few blocks. I would higjly recommend getting a hotel in the central part of the beach rather than at the northern end.
