“Excellent Place to Stay”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 April 2013

We stayed at the Bliss for two weeks in a Plunge Pool Room. (Well worth the extra expense). The room itself was lovely(more like an apartment) with a separate large lounge area (c/w TV) and galley kitchen. The bedroom (c/w TV) was large with the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! The shower/toilet was a bit daunting at first as it has a glass curtain wall facing out to the street side. I can however ensure you that nothing bar your head can be seen!!!!
The outside area is a little noisy with the advertising vans and bangla boxing vans passing up and down constantly but this is all part of the Patong experience and eventually blends into the background.
The staff at the hotel are very courteous and polite.A special mention to Audi, Nun,Pueng and So at the cocktail bar every evening, James on the reception (a gas man!) and to the hotel Boss, Barry from sunny Co Clare in Ireland!
One slight whinge, on our last day the gardeners thinned the tops of the trees, allowing more sunshine onto our patio area, that would have been welcomed at the start of our stay!
On the whole it was a fabulous trip. We will be back!

Stayed at the bliss suite with my wife & baby boy for 10 nights. Had a pool suite which was amazing. The room was so big and well maintained. Reception staff were ?Rest of the staff were ok but I wanted to point out 2 girls in particular. Nun & Phoung. These girls deserve a promotion. Not only did they go that extra step for my wife & I, but they treated my boy as if he was their own. Love you for that girls.
We definitely recommend the bliss suites to travelers. Definitely would recommend again

I stayed at The Bliss for 3 nights with my partner. The staff were all lovely, helpful and kind; particularly a girl called Apple who helped us book our day trip. The rooms are fabulous for the price and we loved the jacuzzi with an ocean view.
Tucked away from the Patong beach madness, The Bliss is great for those wanting a bit of quiet whilst still being close to all the shops, beach and restaurants.
The room service and hotel restaurant were fantastic with 5 star presentation. We would recommend this to anyone heading to Patong.

I just got back from staying in this hotel for 6 nights. it was clean and comfortable. The toilet was a bit run down. Although, i saw the suites and they looked like 5 star hotels. The location is brilliant. At the end of the main road so no loud noises or hustle and bustle in front of your hotel, just walk 10 meters to the right and you are right in the thick of things. Breakfast was good but after the third day you were hoping for something different on the buffet. Very friendly door men, the female receptionists looked uninterested all the time and not really any help, while the men receptionist were always smiling and had a kind word. The bar next to the pool doesnt look like much but the cocktails during happy hour were cheap and very well made.

The hotel also has a covered car park incase you have rented a car to see the island.

MOST IMPORTANTLY, the hotel is facing the beach, so you just come out of your hotel and are on the beach.

I rate it as very good because it was above average. And i would stay there again.

Room Tip: if you can afford the suites, they are really worth the extra money.. i was on the fourth floor in a...

When i read other reviews before I booked I dismissed the negative ones and went ahead.......silly me. The hotel is in a great location for Patong (I've visited Phuket dozens of times and my 1st and last time in Patong.....there are so many other beautiful spots so unless you want the "Patong experience" then go elsewhere).

This hotel could be a cool, exclusive, booked out boutique hotel, but, a combination of poor maintenance, lack luster staff who don't even appear to be hospitality trained and no atmosphere add up to a big fail! Given the reasonable price it's passable but not what the hotel builds itself up as.

The reception staff attitude is deplorable. We had 2 rooms next to each other and needed the child locks on each door to actually work. On one room the child lock was completely missing and just the associated hole remained. Maintenance could not repair it so we asked to be moved to 2 adjoining rooms. The response was....."we can only move one of the rooms".... so our family with kids will be split over 3 levels? Why? "it will be too much trouble for me to shuffle rooms around as we are full in 2 nights time".

The beach immediately across from the hotel is a disgrace and littered with all and sundry. To avoid this walk 500m north towards Patong and use the beach there.

The rooms were enormous......I think it was a standard suite. Based on the website pics the view was spectacular......which it would have been if not on the 2nd level and blocked by a mass of tangled phone/power lines which completely took away from the natural beauty. Despite the power line view, the outdoor balcony was spacious and functional. You had to be a master plumber to adjust the water temperature in the hand held shower. It was either scalding hot or cold. The "rain" shower did not work as there didn't seem to be enough water pressure to make it flow apart from a couple of drizzles.

The back pool is very nice but a bit dangerous with loose edging tiles in places and also a drop off towards the underground car park that is risky for kids. Around the pool most of the equipment works but the potential of the place is let down by poor maintenance and in this case broken and unattended umbrellas.

The bed/mattress was huge but solid as a rock. The furniture in the rooms is old and dated. The couch in the dim living area is like the bed mattress way to hard and uncomfortable.

The breakfast restaurant appears a bit grimy with stains on the floor and linen. The food is average at best and exactly the same thing every day.

When we checked out we were made to wait in reception while they investigated where supposedly missing face washers were and also quizzed us over why there were 3 sets of towels in one of the rooms rather than the supplied 2. How the heck would I know!

I did not go here with expectations of a 5 star resort but the overall rundown nature of the resort and the lack of care from the staff really drags this place down way below it's potential.

I stayed at The Bliss last July. Excellent location right on the beach. Lots of shops and bars within walking distance. The staff was very friendly especially this one staff member named Apple. She checked us in and told us where everything was located. She recommended some tours and things to do around Phuket. All rooms have balconies facing the beach. House keeping did not speak English, little difficult to communicate with them.
