First time at this hotel, I may return, not sure yet..It is located at the far end of beach road which I knew when I booked, but when I got there realised that because there were roadworks being carried out on the road, the traffic was sometimes at a standstill.
A most important point is the website photo shows the front of the hotel what looks like the a few steps onto the beach. NOT so, the main road is in between. Also there are no sunbeds and umbrellas in front of the hotel as shown in the photo, you have to walk about 300 yards to get them.
On arrival the staff were not very welcoming, ie. "hello and welcome to the Bliss hotel" I know it was the low season but if they want you to return sometime in the future they should show their appreciation.
We passed two of the concierge outside the entrance who didn't say a word, but one of them did come in to help with the cases.There were no pleasant smiles, they did bring a welcome drink while we registered.The attitude got increasingly better as the days went on.
The path to the room 427 which is in the north building is dirty and the wooden trellis panels are also dirty, parts of the wood are broken and they all badly need painted.
In the bathroom they offer the very cheapest toilet rolls which don't tear at the perforations so they are a false economy.
Cheap bath and beach rowels which are not the correct size, and the kettle would not switch off .
One morning In the dining room two female staff were having a ferocious argument which all the guests could hear clearly. The food was ok but not hot. A kitchen member was almost constantly opening the food salvers and stirring the food which was totally unnecessary, that's what was making the food cold.
Most of the staff in the dining room were pleasant especially one young man who signed you in , he was extremely pleasant and helpful, remembering the following days what you liked to have from the first day. that's the kind of staff managers should appreciate.
The swimming pool on the second floor is the better of the two, the other one being outside at ground level. We ate in the bar restaurant most evenings where there was a very pleasant smiling young lady called Nok and also a very pleasant young man ordering and serving. The food was well presented and very tasty.
To sum up this hotel in my opinion, does not deserve 4 star status.
