This is my first trip to Phuket. Together with my brother and sister, after reading all nice reviews about Som Guesthouse, we decided to stay here. We stayed for 4 days 3 nites in Dec 2011. True enough, this place is clean and quiet. Return airport transport provided by Som Guesthouse, for the three of us, they charged THB$1,400.00. We took the earliest flight from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket, so, by the time we reach here, its quite early, not yet 9 am. Initially, we were thinking that maybe we just leave our bags here then check-in later since the check-in hour is at 12 noon, but to our surprise, Mr. Cha, the owner who handled our arrival, gave us a special service, he told us that we could check-in early and will still be charged the same one day rate. This is extremely wonderful of Mr. Cha, especially when we are still sleepy ourselves from having to wake up at 3 am in order to catch the earliest flight. Upon check-in, we paid full for 3 nites, with refundable deposit of THB$1,000.00. As for our room, it is located in a newly renovated building, with three single beds. Our room which is on the first floor is really clean, complete with air-con, water heater, and a small fridge that comes with a daily complimentary bottle of mineral water. As for entertainment and communication, there is a TV, DVD player...This is my first trip to Phuket. In order to borrow in-house DVD movies, maximum 2 DVDs allowed at one time, we paid non-refundable THB$100.00, of which after finished watching, we could switch to other available DVD movies. Also, a housekeeper will come in everyday to clean the room. In terms of convenience of location, this place is very strategic, within walking distance to Patong Beach, Jungceylon Mall, and Patong Foodpark plus secluded enough at nightime for a peaceful good night sleep.More
