We have just check out of the R-mar and loved it!!! What an oasis :-) Our room was exactly like the pictures and even though we booked a superior room we still had a fabulous view of Patong. As the resort is right in the middle of Patong there is some noise at night that can be heard outside from the balcony, but once inside with the doors closed there was no noise. We booked two room and both were ready on our arrival. A welcome drink also awaited us. The pool was a lagoon shape and an excellent size for swimming and relaxing. We used it each day throughout our 7 night stay and never felt crowed and always had deck chairs, towels and great service from the bar. Breakfast was a good mix and always replenished quickly. The complimentary mini bar was a bonus. Everything about our stay was memorable and could only be topped off by the location, that was minutes walk to just about everything in Patong. We will be returning!!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a city view.

We arrived on the Sunday night at about 8pm, were told by the staff that our hotel hand't been paid for when infact it had. We were asked to pay a 50% deposit for the hotel, when we asked if we could pay for the first night and sort it out tomorrow they said no and that 50% was minimum. We were staying for almost 3 weeks so 50% was a lot of money. We had to go out of the hotel to change our money with our luggage.

The next day they tried to blame us for the mix up because they hand't realised they had been paid. when i asked for the 50% deposit back they said we had to wait a week because they had sent it to the bank. it was a large majority of our spending money for food and activities, when i mentioned this they still refused to get it back to us until the end of the week.

Breakfast was ok, nice amount of options. room service was also good.

The room did not look like the picture, the bed was in the middle of the room and not against the wall so there was no head rest, they had built a side table into the wall so that it couldn't be pushed back. the bathroom was designed poorly, when someone would have a shower the bathroom floor would be covered in water. There were electrical wiring visible on the roof. Walls were thin, we could hear everything from the rooms next to us. The free mini bar that was refreshed daily was excellent.

The pool was ok, however it was small and sometimes it was hard to get a chair there. The staff were friendly.

The location was great, it is in a very busy area however you do not have noise issues.

When checking out in the morning the staff tried to charge us for the other 50% of our accommodation which was a lot of money that we did not have. it took about 15 minutes to figure out that we didn't have to pay anything. Our hotel transfers were waiting outside for us while this was happening.

We would not stay at this hotel again and would not recommend it to friends either, however if you are only stopping over there it would be fine.

Although i had already booked this hotel for our stay in Phuket, i was still apprehensive about it a few days before our stay as no else had written any reviews about it since the review on Nov 2011 last year. Thinking since the most of the reviews seems pretty good, we decided to go ahead anyway. Did not regret our decision as we had a pleasant stay!

R-Mar was located in a perfect location - just a few minutes walk to Jungceylon shopping centre and of course to the bangla road! We thought that going to beach would need us to walk one big round so we asked the staff the directions to Patong beach, and bellboy directed us and showed us the shortcut from the back of the hotel to the beach! Nice! They also have a 24 hour security guard.

The rooms were modern, exactly how they looked like in pictures. Room was clead up daily. No issues. The pool was awesome! Perfect for just lounging around on a hot sunny afternoon. They have this promotion from 3pm-5pm of cocktail drinks, kebab & satay for just 100 baht which we took advantage. Food was not bad.

The staff were helpful. We were supposed to be back at the hotel at 8.45pm for our pickup to the Simon Cabaret show but we came back late thinking it was at 9.30pm. They helped us call the agent and tried to arrange to reschedule it and gave us alternatives on where else we could go for the night.

The daily breakfast was okay. They have different food everyday contrary to what i've read about. They could have more varieties though. I wouldnt complain though, it seems good enough for the price paid.

Arrived at the R Mar Resort at around 11:30 am and was able to check-in immediately.
The reception staff were helpful and courteous.

The room allocated was on the ground floor in the 2nd building, room 1105 - this was a superior king room and overlooked tropical foliage. The room was spacious and looked exactly like the the photos on the website. The beds are firm, as a lot of people have commented, but not at all uncomfortable in my opinion. Air conditioning works perfectly.
A free minibar includes the following items which are replenished daily;- 2 Mineral Waters, 2 Chang Beers, 1 Fanta, 1 Sprite and 1 Coke. Tea and coffee are also provided.
The bathroom was the main issue, the shower design means that the water collects around the edge of the bath tub until it overflows onto the floor, the bathroom floor was always wet - very poorly designed.

Room service, though not an extensive menu, was very good, and extremely good value.
Breakfast was good - there were always 6-7 hot options - both western and Thai - Omelettes and eggs were prepared to order. There was also a selection of fresh fruit, cooked meats, cheese, bread, croissants, cereals, yoghurts, juices etc. I couldn't fault the breakfast, especially considering the room rate paid.

The pool area was well maintained and a relaxing place to enjoy the sun - pool hours are 7:00 am to 7:00 pm There is also a pool bar open from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm serving drinks and snacks again at very reasonable prices - Towels are available for guest use free of charge.

It is a 5-10 minute walk from the beach - The main shopping Centre Jungceylon is about 10 minutes walk - Bangla Road bars are about 5 minutes away, the Paradise complex bars are 3 minutes walk away.

The hotel arranged a return transfer to the airport at a cost of 750 THB.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I recently had a week at the R Mar while in Thailand for Laser eye surgery.
I can not speak highly enough of the staff who were very helpful during my entire stay.
The reception staff were incredibly helpful, and even though a couple of them battled a bit with english, all my needs were met.
It has a great pool that also has a smaller one joined to it for your kids.
The breakfast provided is good and the other times I had room sevice the quality and price of the food were very pleasing.
I booked a car through their lady at their onsite travel counter. She arranged me a new near car for a very good price.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool facing room - this gives you a better outlook.
