Ashlee Hub Hotel Patong
Ranked #119 of 331 Hotels in Patong
Reviewed 22 March 2014

Location
The location is a winner for me, not right on the beach road but not more than a five minute walk away. The hotel is right opposite the Hard Rock Café and most nights the hard rock has a live band playing so don't bother to go to bed early as the noise from the band and from the small bars at the OTOP market (about 40 of them) will keep you awake till the early hour anyway.
If you like to shop then this place is for you, with over 300 market stalls just outside the front door. and with all the small bars the poor husband has something to do whilst the shopper is hard at work. But if amore western experience with air conditioning is your thing the a 15 minute walk will take you to Jungcylon Shopping Mall and Bangla Road

Check in and Staff,
We had booked an early check in for 10:00am but due to a flight delay we did not arrive at the hotel until lunch time ( 12:15pm) The check in was a fast and smooth experience we got the room keys and up we went.
Our room was on the 4th floor and on arrival at the door we found that the maid was just about to strip the room from the last people who stayed there and were told to come back in two hours and it would be ready.
And so back down to reception we go only to be told that we would have to come back 2 hours later and our room would be ready. (As If) We actually got our room about 4:00pm and even then we had no toiletries and all the glass's and cups tea and Coffee were not refiled from the last guest who had stayed. we also had only 1 hand towel and 1 face cloth between us.

Room and Facilities
This hotel is very new and so the décor is modern and bright. But having said that I was amazed at the poor condition of some of the furniture and fittings it the room and in the bathroom. The couch and all the other seat covers along with the cushion cover had so many stains on the we were hardly game to use them without putting towels over them first.
In the bathroom we had a few minor problems, the room below us kept blocking up there toilet and so on the odd occasion we had a flood in the bathroom when we arrived home. The shower head was half blocked up and so when you turned on the water it would go in all kinds of funny direction and never were you wanted it to go. There were other minor issues but I don't want to go on for ever on that.

Roof Top Pool and Bar.
This was a joke and that is being kind.
We went up to the roof top pool and bar for a lazy afternoon swim and some cocktails, and to see the view, and of course work on that all important tan for when we got back home. Boy did we have a shock, the pool area was nothing like the pictures we saw on the website when we booked. All the glass areas and balustrades have been cover with plants (Bogon Villiers) and they have thorns and spikes so you cant get to close to them or you will get cut or tare your clothes.
Another side effect was that the flowers and petals were all over the place and mostly in the pool and it look dirty and horrible. the bar was bare and you could only choose whatever cocktails were on special for the day and that was that.

Food and Restaurant
I can't comment on this as we ate out for all our meal, but people we spoke to said it was not bad food for the price.

Staff
Always tried to be helpful were possible and if they had maybe some more mature supervision they would have been able to make more informed decisions on how long things would take and if you could have a item through room service.

On the whole I have mixed feeling about my stay here, but on reflection I have paid a lot more at other hotels for the same level of service offered here. And because of that I would probably stay here agene.

Room Tip: Get one on the lower floors as there is only one very small lift and you can have a long weight for...

The rooms are quite big. The pool is on the roof, average size, but nice. Hotel is located near Hard Rock Café, and about 10 minute walk to Bangala Road and Jungceylon shopping mall. Breakfast is pretty good. I would stay there again.

Hotel is very clean serves a great European breakfast best I found in patong! Try to stay in floor 6 upwards as you don't hear the noise outside. Patong is a noisy place so if you want peace and quiet this is not the place but location you can't beat it

Room Tip: Floor 6 upwards

Stayed here for 12 days During AFL Grand Final September/October 2013.
One block away from the Beach ( not even a 5 minute walk), and close to all small bars in OTOP.
Close to all shops, and mini marts, tattoo artists and restaurants.

The pool is on the top level, and is quite small. Pool table is set up next to the bar. Nice breeze and views of mountains / Patong.
The elevator story's are all true, only holds 2, possibly 3 Aussie's otherwise an alarm goes off and it wont move. Best option is to take the steps,

Wasnt happy with the reception at all compared to other hotels we have stayed with in Patong.
Our booking confirmation had us in for 12 nights as we had a midnight flight and paid for the extra night, so we could have the whole day to do as we please. But they recieved different confirmation and made us pay for the extra day even though we had it in black and white and had paid for it. AND they waited until the 9th day to leave a letter on our bed for us to contact them about this matter. All they kept saying is there was a misprint and for us to call the company we booked through. Didn't bother wasting what could have been a $40+ phone call with all international roaming charges to discuss this. Just found the staff rude regarding this matter. Never nice to be ripped off no matter how little or much you pay.

Room Service was disgusting. There are so many restuarants close by Try them and have a fantastic feed!!

Would only stay here again for 2-3 nights to be close to everything and simply crash - definitly not longer.

After read all the review we decide to book this place but request for the room that away from the noise staff give us a room on the top floor which very quiet, room very big with nice chair on the balcony, clean swimming pool, cheap food and drink since we move to this hotel we never go to beach again. The staff were professional and very sweet always smile and polite. This place make me feel so welcome. I definitely stay there again.

Nice & clean property with friendly staff. There are ice machines located on the 3rd, 5th & 7th level. The room is big enough to accommodate 3 person, huge tub too. Complimentary snacks are available every evening of your stay from 5-7pm on the roof-top bar by next to the pool.

*Beach towels are for loan @ the Reception - a cash deposit of 500baht needed for each.

Wifi signal is very weak. Bed is very hard & pillows are too firm & caused me bad body aches.

*Music from Hard Rock Cafè ends about 1-2am every morning.

• Steps away from food stalls
• 5 mins stroll to the beach
• 10 mins walk to the mall

^ A comfortable bed will be a bonus for my experience.

Staffs at this hotel are really nice. Rooms are fine and clean. The only bad thing is they have weak wifi signal in the room.

The hotel is really close to Hard Rock Cafe and you can hear live music every night.

You will be able to find really nice street food just outside the hotel too.
