Very popular place. Overall it's 3.5 stars. Nothing was bad considering the price.

The shabu shabu was pretty standard stuff, pretty average in quality (and shabu shabu is pretty low in quality on average), but I did notice that all the items on the train were being replaced promptly. So for example of course prawns are popular, but I didn't notice any shortages, well managed.

Bonuses (shabu shabu is one thing but you also get unlimited):
Ice cream
Prawn Tempura

The biggest quality let down were the bonuses, but that won't impact the score. You pay for shabu shabu, and at the price, it's fair for just shabu shabu.

The sushi wasn't even really worth putting out there. The prawn tempura was never hot, simply the nature of trying to do tempura as all you can eat, so steamed them up over the shabu shabu. The gyoza was a similar affair.

Bottom line. the shabu shabu is fine, thanks for the drinks and dessert, ignore the rest.

This place is awesome! Each time i visit patong i come here with my friends or a girlfriend. its not just food to me but an experience as well. i wouldn't say the atmosphere is amazing but it is a free and fun enviroment i reckon, what with so many options of things to eat and trying to take as many prawns as you can from the conveyer belt that circulates the food throughout the room.
for those who dont know shabushi is a chain of buffet type restaurants throughout thailand operated by oishi the company that make the iced teas you buy at 7/11 and everywhere. the price differs with location or any member or discount cards you may have. this jungceylon one was costing 332baht when i went in march 2012. this is excellent value considering the amount of food you eat and also that a burger from burger king out the front is not much less. sometimes i have seen huge lines of people waiting to get in here although usually not.
once you go in a hostess takes you to a table or a seat by the conveyer.
i prefer the conveyer as then you each get to cook what you want rather than sort of cook as a group.
when your seated you have the choice of tom yum soup or plain water to boil your food in. often they dont mention this and just give you water due to the language barrier but the option is there.
so you get 75 minutes to eat as much as you can. the setup is that there is a conveyer belt that has little plates of raw foods constantly whizzing past you. you can choose from things like noodles, prawns (grab them while you can!), bacon, eggs, dumplings, squid, chicken, beef, pork and some stranger things like fish heads etc. you grab what you want and simply cook it in your soup then put it in your little bowl with some sauce and eat it. aside from this theres also a large selection of fresh fruits, fried foods (usually cold), sushi, drinks (purple grape is good), and ice creams. make sure your given your little docket telling you what time you have to be out by, if not make sure to ask for it so you know when to hit up the ice cream section.
apart from all the artificial crab meat products i'd say the sushi is pretty good.
the hostess are desk clerk are usually freindly but the other staff are clearly just there for labor and freindly service is not really a priority. they do what they have to do but dont expect help with anything too much outside there little plate collecting, sauce topping up world.
a couple of tips... go to the toilet before you go in. there are no toilets. i'm not sure what the process is if you need to go leave the place and find a toilet but im sure it would be a hassle.
choose your drink wisely. coz once you have a big glass of drink theres nowhere to get rid of it so your stuck with it. unless you do what i did and poured it into the bin on the waiters trolley.
as stupid as it sounds watch out for the automatic glass doors when you come and go. we were having a good laugh watching it smack 3 different people in the face as they came in.
you might want to take into account that when you leave here you might need to lay down for a few hours to digest the mass amount of food you have eaten.
oh the green ice cream is disgusting lol
that about covers it. the place is awesome. 5 stars hands down!

Japanese hot pot buffet including sushi, tempura and free flow of drinks and ice-cream. The food is nothing special but they do taste good. Variety wise it is also just about adequate. Shabushi at Jungceylon next to McDonald's is a very popular restaurant. Once seated you are given about 90 minutes to fill-up! I cannot remember the stipulated time as it didn't matter to me. My partner and I were full and happy after just 30 minutes. I recommend going in a group of 4 so you can get a place with a table. A group of four having shabu shabu together should be very enjoyable especially when it is a buffet. All in all, Shabushi is very good value.

I was lucky to go to this twice - day after day - it was so good. In general, it looks to me like one of the best places to eat in Phuket - and it's very clean!
The buffet, one and a half hour, is a great way to experience this amazing way of cooking. The sushi (also part of the unlimited buffet) is good as well. The buffet also includes drinks, fruit desserts, fried fishes and prawns but the best part is the shabu Shabu. The calamary i had there was the best i ever taseted. And all costs less than 350 baht - what a great deal as you can have all sorts of meats, sea food and vegetables in the Shabu Shabu.

I was feeling like having some Japanese food before my trip to HK from Phuket. I checked Tripadvisors and decided to try Shabushi-Shabu in Patong mall. I had tried Fuji on my last trip and was very disappointed. I was very happily surprised, first it's really spotless clean (Fuji is not really). The food is very fresh and good. I give the Shabu 8/10 and Sushi 7/10. To me Fuji would get 5/10 for sushi. Price wise it is just incredible at THB 350 per person. I'll go back again next week.
