Overall we were happy with the hotel. The room was clean and serviced daily. The staff were quite friendly with a high recommendation for the pool bar boys, who made our stay fun.

The location is good, leisurely walk to Bangla Road with shopping along the way or courtesy bus 3 times daily. Altenatively, 200baht (approx $6.25 AUD) for a taxi or tuk tuk ride each way. Good location for couples or families, but maybe not close enough for the party people who thrive on the nightlife.

Room Service was speedy. Breakfast was average, with a fair selection including asian options. If you want bacon, you need to ask…. It took us 3 days to work that out. Pools are very relaxing, tho maybe a slightly deeper pool, amongst the 6 on the property would have been good. Beautiful gardens amongst the property and well maintained.

Bed was very hard, which took some getting used to and my only gripe is that the facility is set out on a large property and there was quite a walk and 2 lifts to our room. Unfortunately, we were only shown the main pool and restaurant and no maps of the facility were provided.

I did not use the in house spa facilities as there were much better cost alternatives at various locations close by.

We came across this hotel as a package deal and it provided excellent value for money. I would recommend Sea Sun Sand without hesitation and could not be happier with the price that we paid.

Room Tip: Some rooms have access to personal swimming pool or request higher floor (D) for rooms with a great view.

We stayed at this hotel on 28/08/12 - 01/09/12. The hotel is situated at a great location as it is very close to the beach as well as ver near to all the restaurants, bars and night clubs. One can easily walk it out or choose to take a tuk tuk. It is however a little far from the airport. It is very evident that the hotel is newly renovated as you can almost smell the fresh paint on the walls. The room size is decent however very little thought about customer comfort has been put into designing the hotel. Everything is spread out and you need to walk great distances to reach your room or to use any of the services. We did see buggies at the hotel reception but they were used by the hotel staff as joy rides rather than for guests. The food and beverage staff were very welcoming but the staff at the front desk were terrible. Rude people who cold not speak English and who just did not care about your comfort. I would seriously not recommend this hotel to anyone. I love Phuket and I will be back but never at this hotel. It's not a product but service which is important and I think it's important the hotel managers take note of this or else they will be out of bussiness.

Got to know tis hotel via groupon...find it really worth it! Got the deal 100plus for 4d3n. Staffs are friendly...always filled w smiles everywhere we go n see dem.

Lucky enough to the rm near the lobby blk. The first impression of the rm is fantastic. Super nice! The rm service is gd Too. Really clean.

I find the breakfast nt bad. On the last day whereby we need to checkout at 645am due to the early flight while the breakfast is only ready by 630am. We talked to the staffs n they let us in ard 615am to grab some of the food. Even assist us when we need some butters n tea.

However it's located at the end of patong beach. It's still possible to walk to those nitelife area...if lazy..tuk tuk will cost 200 bhats.

Overall great experience w sea sun sand ;)

We stayed here on 5/09 - 13/09 based on a Travelzoo special. It is a well located hotel, in that you can walk or tuk tuk easily to the heart of Patong (and restaurants are within easy walking distance of the hotel).

The hotel fitout itself is quite nice, however it seems apparent that the renovation works were done in distinct phases (design inconsistencies). The hotel is comprised of a number of disparate buildings, interconnected by lifts and walkways. There are some nice touches, such as a tower with light features that progress through different colours, which synchronise with light features based on one of the complex walls. The concept of the pool (structure of pontoon bridges and shallow pools leading up to a main pool and wading pool) is quite cool. No signage (except in the lobby, when you still know where you are) is placed anywhere to indicate to guests where they are in relation to other buildings. This is particularly difficult when trying to find facilities such as the gym that lack signage. As indicated in other reviews, staff are friendly enough, but unable to answer anything other than very basic queries about the hotel.

We had a mix up with our room and were allocated a queen room as opposed to a twin share on the first night. The staff were reluctant to fix this error and allocate us the room we had booked, so we had to wait until the following day to be moved to the room we had requested.

My key issue was with the breakfast buffet service - it was pretty much inedible. Very few options available, and the food on offer was not up to standard. We opted to eat outside instead.

The spa facilities are excellent - great massage, lovely surrounds.

All in all, a nice resort given we got the holiday on sale, but small things (signage, attention to detail) and better staff management and training would make this a better hotel.

Room Tip: It is worth paying the extra money and getting a pool access room - the pools are fantastic, and have a lovely view of the courtyard.

Sea Sun Sand is located in the heart of Patong and while it is a short walk away to the beach, you'll still need to take a taxi or tuck tuck to where the action is at night.
When we first arrived, we weren't thrilled that we had to wait a few hours for our room and even after the wait, we were given a room that required 3 elevators and a bit of a walk to get to. Despite the inconvenience, the service was polite and as accommodating as they could be although there was no  compensation offered for the wait.
The room was decent, clean, but there was still grime on the bathroom floors and faucets. The staff were however, kind to leave the swans and rose petals on the bed for us as it was our honeymoon.
We came across three little Geikos in our room during our stay which we had to capture and set free. As well, there were the occasional little bugs that would make their way into the room.
The room came with a love seat and king size bed which lit up a neat neon blue color underneath with a flick of a switch. The balcony had no view although it was tranquil.
The pool area was very cool, offering a bar, towel service and an incredible view atop a high hill.
Breakfast was good, there was plenty of variety and very good coffee and staff were always smiling.
Our experience here was decent but considering how many options there are in Patong, I'd consider another hotel for your stay.
