“Beautiful Resort”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

We stayed for 5 nights in May 2014.
The rooms were nice and spacious with a large balcony and a decent bath. We stayed at the superior room with garden view.
The food was really nice in the hotel. We tried the thai food in their thai restaurant. Superb service and good food. I cannot agree with the earlier remark of the staff being a racist as we good top notch customer service throughout the resort. The breakfast was excellent. It had a good spread and also had some indian vegetarian dishes also. They gave us packed breakfast boxes on the day of our check out since we had to leave around 6 am. Much appreciated.
This resort as 3 pools. Basically one is for the kids with the volleyball net and basket ball ring and the other is a little deeper pool for adults. My son loved the pools and didn't want to leave. The beach in front of the resort is quite nice and we swam there only.
There is a family mart store just opposite the main gate. You can buy your daily stuff and water from there. There is a 7 11 also just round the corner.

The only downside is the location and the hilly placement of this resort and the rooms. Although we got the shuttle every time to go up to the rooms and from the lobby to the main entrance, but people not wanting to walk the slopes once in a while, its a little hard for them. This resort is almost at the northern end of patong. Its a 15 minutes walk the main patong area on the beach where all the restaurants, massages, and shopping is. Tuk Tuk cost around 150 to 200 Baht anywhere you want to go in Patong.

We took the complimentary shuttle to the Jungcylon Mall and that was a good thing. Do book in advance (both sides).

I do recommend this resort (good food, rooms and excellent service) but only be prepared to walk a little slope. Well on a holiday its good to do a little walking.

Room Tip: Try to take rooms near the pool or reception area.

Our stay here was very enjoyable. Staff were great, and whilst the property is a bit older it was very clean and tidy. Only negatives for us were the fact the it was all stairs to get to our room, and if you want to be close to the action, it is a little far out.

We stayed for a week in May and experienced an openly racist hotel for the first time...the staff at reception simply ignored ,our repeated pleas for a glass of water when we were made to wait two agonizing hot hours for our rooms tobe ready. And all the time they were offering welcome drinks and cold towels to the white guests...Of the two rooms we needed they gave me one and called me back to the reception to collect the key card for the next room after saying that they were busy and could not send across the key cards... This was the beginning of a week of sometimes innocently played out and sometimes outright hostility .....the dining experience in the the thai restaurant was similar and the male wait staff who can't speak English shouted at me for asking to be served after a long wait..that too consdiering.we were the only people there for dinner !!! the. Breakfast rush just before closing is equally bad with the hotel deliberately emptying out dishes leaving anyone who come in fifteen minutes before closing to scramble for scraps and leftovers ..unlike most other resorts in Thailand and .considering the fact that people stay a few days ,the chef doesn't even bother to change the menu except for one dish of grilled meats (I wonder who eats beef or pork in brown sauce for breakfast?? )...and the wait staff here simply doesn't care if you are not a white skinned rich looking senior citizen.... As others have pointed out , the hotel is on a very steep hill and a walk requires half a km of 40 degree gradient climb..,,it's an impossible climb for even the fittest... so they have this buggy which can be called to drop you off ..the bell boys who drive this are the worst of the lot .,,at least twice they made us wait fifteen minutes to get picked up.., and at the lobby they are all shambling around but simply refuse to move till it pleases them ...
We had sea facing rooms and there was nothing to complain about the rooms or the views... The one person who was genuinely great in service and manners was the housekeeper who handled the 301-310 series of rooms....
if you want to stay close but avoid the urban sprawl of patong then this is a fabulous property ...but best enjoyed if you are Caucasian senior citizen ....if you like activities and are restless, don't choose this hotel for a long stay as it's incredibly boring and has nothing much on offer beyond the pools ...Jf you don't want to stay close to Patong there are lots of better options in ..and if you want the actin then even better options down the road closed to the main patong area ..,quite frankly Phuket is highly overrated like Pattaya and can be given a big miss..it's overrun by charter tourists from China,Russia and India for whom the whole place is one noisy bazaar.... probably a quieter location would be a better choice ...Krabii or other places around have more to offer ...or my all tie favorite samui...Phuket is good for couple of nights of partying and shopping but not for a sun and sand experience ....goodbye Accor hotels...I don't intend ever using your racist facilities again

Room Tip: If you get the sea facing rooms in the main road be prepared for considerable traffic noise upto lat...

We stayed here with another family of 5, total of 6 children between 4 & 15y/o. We booked 3 rooms, 5 kids in one room, 2 adults plus 4y/o in another & a couple in another. It worked really well especially because kids weren't interested in complementary 50min message so my wife & I had 2. Nice rooms, cleaned & made up daily, nice pools for all ages, very friendly staff. We didn't find the beach to be all that nice, rubbish on beach etc but it got cleaner as we headed towards market shops. Everything is nearby except for shopping centre & markets but free shuttle took care of that.

As part of the thailand trip, this was our first destination. 2 of us and 2 kids.

Things we liked:
-Lovely room. They had upgraded us to a family room with bunk beds. Kids loved it
-Decent breakfast. Could have had more veg options.
-Hotel has wifi through out, even free wifi in the rooms
-Good in-house Thai restaurant
-Kids club was good. They entertain kids above 4.

Some inconveniences:
- Any destination from there by tuk-tuk costed 200 bh! Its better to live close by to the market. So probably Novotel vintage, their new property might be a better option
-Not a beach resort. So you have to get your way to the local beach for parasailing and other beach actv.

Having never travelled internationally with my wife and three kids I didn't know what to expect. We're normally caravan park holiday adventurers in our camper trailer somewhere in Australia. This is all new and exciting.
Everything from the moment we stepped out of the taxi has been fantastic. The service, sea view rooms, gifts for all the kids, breakfast, massages - has made our time here in Phuket very enjoyable.
