How could anyone rate this hotel as terrible. We couldn't find any criticism to make. The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble the rooms were beautiful and kept scrupulously clean and the setting is beautiful. The views are to die for. We loved the cold scented face clothes which were offered frequently and we thought it very novel to be given our beers in an ice bucket full of ice. The only criticism we could make is the price of drinks considering the hotel has to cope with the competition from the resort Patong. Consequently the bars were under used in the evenings which meant there was no ambience to enjoy. We enjoyed our stay so much that we've already been looking at other hotels in this chain.

As nice as the hotel was the location was way out of the way. Coming back every night to a long walk up the hill and through the hotel. The steps were hard work to get out the hotel! The staff were helpful. Breakfast was good with a good choice. Eating at dinner was expensive and the quality was not good enough for price. Also the choice at dinner was very minimal. There was a lot of building work when we were there so relaxing by the pool was impossible! Being a 24 year old traveller it was defiantly the wrong choice as the hotel had no entertainment or liveliness.

We had booked a room with sea view, however upon arrival we were told the rooms were not available and they check us into a room looking at another block of hotel rooms.

The photos were not an accurate representation. Seriously misleading. The basics are there but it just didn't look the same. Think of it as too much "airbrushing" like how the celebrities are airbrushed on magazines cover.

Free wifi only in the lobby.

Poor service, the staff were rude and unhelpful. The only helpful employee was the nice young lady helping us book the tours, she was lovely and a total delight.

Breakfast was good, good selection and good quality.

The spa service was awesome, expensive but totally worth every penny!

Room Tip: The photos were not an accurate representation, check out tourist uploaded pictures instead.

Great , and far enough from Patong ( a 20 min walk)

We had a great time here , one of the better 4 star hotels we ever stayed at. It/s relaxed, newly renovated , rooms have nice views, staff friendly ( not always efficient ........ but oke .....)
Breakfast delicious , enough choice, coffee makers for fresh bean coffee, tables with lots of privacy, beautiful seaviews etc.

rooms , nicely renovated , very comfortable beds , and great frontal seaviews in block 7 , the deluxe rooms.
We also stayed in the less expensive rooms , superior rooms wich are also good , a bit smaller but still very good. Pay a few $$$ more for frontal seaview and wake up with sea views from your bed, just great.

Be aware , many steps/stairs , would not recomment this resort for parents with childeren.

Pool area , enough sun beds/ loungers even when many guests in hotel.

Staff , very friendly , though could be more pro active , and english language skills not always that good, eq at reception.

And the rest and peace , a huge difference with the chaotic Patong, a relief to come back in the hotel after a vistit.
No shuttle service into Patong , a 20min walk, or use a minicab/tuktuk.

airport hotel taxi , about 50min , 800bath , or use the hotel service 950bath, its worth the money
exellent service.

We had a great time , we are non Patong lovers, , but we loved Amari/phuket.
Highly recommended.

My son and I had been exploring parts of Thailand throughout February and I decided to end our trip with a beautiful and restful resort. I chose the Amari after reading fantastic trip advisor reviews, I wasn't disappointed. We chose to upgrade to a Deluxe room after seeing the room size difference as we would be there for 5 days. The ocean views and sounds were magnificent while the food and service were fantastic! My only regret is I didn't stay 5 more days!

Side notes:
Patong public beach looks over crowded so we opted to be driven to Kata Beach using the free shuttle the hotel provides. I would have preferred being closer to the town, regardless it was a great day and my son enjoyed a jet ski rental.

After touring Indochina for a month at a pretty hectic pace we stayed at the Amari for a bit of R&R. We absolutely loved the 4 days we spent there. It is a visual delight, set into the hillside overlooking the ocean with wonderful facilities and restaurants. The staff were all so pleasant and helpful.

We were so sad to leave this paradise.

Room Tip: ocean side away from the construction

Me and my wife received a nice room with a sea view.
The rooms were spacious, clean and tidy. The bed was comfortable and big ( king size or more I believe ). Bathroom and toilet were clean and satisfying.
The hotel lies on a ridge at the end of Patong beach, Phuket. The city is crowded, noisy and filled with awful smell. Luckily for anyone staying at the Amari, the town looks a lot better than it is. My advice while staying at Patong - stay at the Amari, Patong aint a great catch anyway.
I trully like exploring different places and cultures, but this Hotel is much better than what the city has to offer. The beach at Patong is nice ( espedially biewing it from Amari ridge ) but the city is not that interesting.

Another thing, the breakfast is excellent. I especiially liked the big variety of fruits and vegetables. The juices are made of fresh fruits every day and honestly, after that, I could not care less about the Omlette and cheese ( which were excellent as well according to my wife ).

Great choice, recommended to everyone.
