The hotel is huge, 3 pools, each one in its own way so u can choose.
We upgraded to a suit and this was the best thing u could do.
The services were good, as I find Thai people very friendly. The hotel was full, and still they tried to help us with the room as much as they could.

Room Tip: Some rooms don't have the best view, so you should mention when u book ur room for the sea view...

Just finished a week in Diamond Cliff. Had an Ocean Suite and view was fantastic. Room was a good size with separate dressing area and huge bathroom. First night ended up with twin bed suite but we were thankfully moved the next day to a double.
Breakfast was great with a huge variety of both Western and Thai food and always a nice sea breeze coming through the restaurant. As the restaurant does get busy the wait time to get coffee and tea service at breakfast is nearly non-existent and many people ended up getting their own. Did not try the restaurants at night as always ventured out to the multitude of restaurants around Patong, Karon & Kata.
Had a couple of small issues with the timeliness and quality of room service. Came back one day to find room had not been done and had to use old towels etc before heading back out. Notified reception and was done when we returned later in the night. Also noted wiping of tabletop areas not done as could still see marks from glasses and cups. Only a minor things but if you are picky this will annoy you.
Have to say the shuttle guys that run you up and down the hill are really friendly and at no time do you wait more than a couple of minutes for a shuttle, no matter what time of day or night. Resort has a very steep driveway and after a couple of times walking up to the Ocean Suites found the shuttle a better option.
Pools are great, not to busy and not to noisy. No problems with getting a sun lounge as there are plenty. The grounds of this resort are gorgeous with plenty of time and effort put into the gardens, walkways and general presentation. Beautiful at night with lights through the gardens and felt this helped the general ambience of the Resort.
Overall a very good quality resort which is just outside the hustle and bustle of Patong, but still within accessible distance to the hive of activity. Would recommend and would stay here again.

Room Tip: Ocean Suites have amazing views, rooms 2710 & 2714 have clear views across Patong and Kalim beac...

We were upgraded to a pool view room and it was really great, the overall hotels service is quite good and staff is really nice...specially the guys who drive the shuttle service. Rooms need little bit of more renovation I think. Bathrooms were quite spacious and good, but food quality is quite average and there is a scope of improvement. They have separate activity room for kids which wad quite nice. I will surely stay again.

On check-in to this large hotel, we were upgraded to a pool view suite. Would have been great to have had an Ocean View instead but they gave is a Grand Wing room which in my opinion was very nice. Room was large and very spacious with a separate dressing area, bathroom and separate wet-room shower and toilet.

The rooms are definitely older in design as the hotel is one of the original Patong Hotels i believe. Beds were pretty comfortable and the pool view was nice.

I found out of the three pools, the ocean view pool in the middle of the complex was the best as it was quiet and children free. The pool at the Grand Wing was quite noisy with music, inflatable toys and screaming kids. Not my idea of relaxing unfortunately but nice for families I guess.

We also went to the pool at the front of the property (across the busy main road). It was unfortunately rather run down and not overly clean. Pool furniture was old and pool tiles were falling off. I noticed a lot of the pool lights were missing and there was electrics on view.

The property itself is definitely showing signs of age in communal areas. The corridors need attention, the pool areas are in need of repairs, i.e. lighting, tiles etc.

The staff are very helpful and attentive. The hotel is situated on a very steep cliff so it is hard work walking around hotel in the Thai heat. The best thing is that they have a very very frequent shuttle taking you up and down the steep hill to wherever you need to go in the hotel.

We didn't bother with any of the restaurants as food seemed very expensive and with such a great selection of local roadside food carts and restaurants in Patong, why would you need to? Our favourite outdoor food place was the open air market situated middle of the beach road between hotel and Bangla Road. We visited a few times to sample the best Thai food you could eat.

Breakfast in hotel was average and in my opinion not worth the price as we loved walking to the nearby Louies Coffee House about 15 mins away.

The location of the hotel is about 15 mins brisk walk from nearby Patong restaurants and bars. The main road outside is very busy and dangerous to cross. There is no pavements to walk along either so be very careful.

The wifi is free and average. It goes through its moments where it would stop working for a few hours. You would not be able to upload pics to Facebook or use Skype as its not fast enough.

If this hotel had a renovation to get it to the standards of most of the newer hotels, it would be 5 star perfect but it definitely needs some tlc now.

Room Tip: Push for an upgrade and ask for an Ocean View Suite

Have just had our fourth stay at Diamond Cliff and, once again, had an excellent time.
Stay are so friendly and helpful. Recommend Diamond room in Grand Wing as so spacious.
Room 2014 has its own terrace with loungers and access to the Waterfall pool - recommended.
Very good choice at breakfast with egg chef to cook fresh for you. Happy hours every day.
Free shuttle to Patong in the evening. Don't worry about the hills the shuttle bus drivers virtually drop you at your room.

Great food, 3 pools, lovely service and staff. We stayed in an Ocean View Suite which I would highly recommend. Lots of variety of food at the buffet breakfast. Catered for many nationalities. Nice quiet location in Patong.

Room Tip: Ocean view suite was lovely and big.
