My husband and i have just returned from a 3 week holiday in Phuket where we stayed at the Seaview Hotel in Patong. This is our 6th visit to the hotel in 10 years and once again the service was excellant. Special thanks must be said to Wanida Yaifay who went out of her way each morning to check that we were happy with everything and if we needed anything extra in our rooms, she even offered us softer pillows which i thought was an excellant idea and took her up on. The staff at this hotel are always smiling and go out of their way to make your holiday perfect. They all speak a very high standard of english and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are spacious with a free safe and fridge. Bottled water, free pool towels (no deposit required) dressing gowns and slippers are all supplied and may up the special touches that make this hotel the perfect place to stop. Once again many thanks for making our stay a truly wonderful one.

Overall our stay at the Seaview was very good. We we in Thailand for 8 days and we stayed at the Sea view Patong twice - two nights at the beginning of our trip, then the final three nights, with a break to Phi Phi in the middle (highly recommended). Here are a list of points good and bad worth considering:
- Lack of free wifi (we bought a Thai SIM card from 7/11 with unlimited data usage for the price of one day of wifi at the seaview. We used my phone as a hotspot to link our ipad and laptop to 3G)
- Breakfast was the standard buffet style with the usual stuff you'd expect, however there wasn't an egg station for omelettes etc, although fried and boiled eggs were available in a banmarie.
- It is a good 10/15 minute walk up to the main Bangla Road. This was good as it was nice and quiet at night, but it can become a bit of a trek. There always the option to jump in a tuk-tuk though. Seaview is right at the bottom end of the beach so there's always the option to wander up along the beach if you don't fancy dealing with lots of shop keepers and taxi drivers.
- The bed wasn't too hard and was a good size. They ask you if you want any more pillows etc at breakfast time. There is a TV but no satellite channels and no USB connection for harddrives if you use that sort of thing.
- There is free tea, coffee and plenty of bottled water provided. The rest of the minibar comes at a price, but it's always well stocked each day. We tended to buy our own stuff from 7/11 and stick it in the fridge.
- The pool is nice and clean. Large beach towels are laid out on all of the beds each morning which was nice. They also provide a beach bag and another towel in the room which can also be handy.
- The bathrooms are a bit dated, but fairly standard for Thailand. They were fine for us, although the doors are semi-opaque so if you don't know the person you are travelling with so well that's worth remembering...

Overall, it was a nice enough place to stay and we would stay there again. We had two different rooms and they both had a view of the pool and the sea in the background.

Nice resort, nice rooms - although more lighting could make it more lively. Nice swimming pool. Decent breakfast spread and very friendly staff. Thai hospitality at its best. Its located relatively farther from the happening Patong street, so not centrally located as it seems. But definitely a good place to unwind if one doesn't need the hustle bustle of Patong street every day. The beach right opposite the hotel, is a easy reach for spending quality time.

This is now the sixth time we have stayed at the seaview. Location suits us perfectly as we mostly use eateries / bars on the southern end of patong. Staff as mentioned make this hotel, Wanida is the face of this hotel and any issues are dealt with promptly. Thank you also to Joy for accomodating our requests and to Keaw for his breakfast banter.
Grounds and pool areas are always cleaned, and maintained to a high standard.
My only concern is, it appears the owners have purchased sister hotels in Samui and Khaolak. Both are 5 star and from all reports very very nice. Please refurbish rooms at the Seaview. In 6 visits rooms have not changed at all. New TV's, changed room decor, free wi-fi, and even better TV programming would all help. It's time to spend some bucks guys.
This is not a reflection on staff, they are all as mentioned, excellent.
Breakfasts are still great, with usual variation of thai, western and standard breakfast favourites.
Worth mentioning a driver we have now used who parks across the road. Mr. Jimmy. Nothing is to much trouble and will drop everything to assist. 4.30AM pickup for airport, 10PM pickup in Rawai..all "no problems". Phone no. is 086-9438719.
Would I stay here again, yes, but staff and location can only do so much.

I have stayed 5 times at the seaview and it is generally very good. wanida is excellent and always ready to help. I found the pool staff disinterested and the boys would be hard to find and it seemed simple things like towels, umbrellas and drinks were hard for them and they were always unhappy. Breakfast is good with a wide selection. I think something should be done about the birds that invade breakfast and when people leave their tables the birds invade the plates, tables and food very unhealthy. Sheets and towels need replacement very old and worn out.
We went to the pasta night 6 in total and found it very ordinary. Very little ingredients and a long queue for 1 chef to cook for everybody. The staff should go to the merlin and see how they cook their pasta and the huge variety of sauce and ingredients. Overall good value but needs improvement to keep up with other hotels. Similarly I found the rooms had hair on the floor, not mine. Long dark stands.

The hotel is in a good spot with e collect beach views and the garden staff go to extremes to clean the exterior walls, footpaths, etc....overall a good stay but slowly getting old.

Room Tip: Try the top rooms as any lower views are obstructed by trees and power lines. However the lifts are...
