This hotel is connected to another hotel. The photos you see is of the nicer hotel. When we got to the hotel, they were honest enough to admit their mistake of placing us in the wrong one, thus gave us a discount. We didn't mind staying since the price was more than fair for Patong. We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The staff were hardly ever in front desk, but were very friendly when you could find them. The room was average in cleanliness and comfort but again wasn't complaining for what we paid. The light switch would take about five minutes to come on after you placed the key in, which got very annoying. All in all good experience at the hotel, but wouldn't recommend staying in Patong for more than a day to anyone. Unless your single and want to be asked for a tuk tuk, taxi, massage, or suit every minute (no exaggeration) than stay away.

Room Tip: Make sure you negotiate a price if you are put in the wrong hotel than what you booked.

Myself + my boyfriend stayed here for 5 nights whilst in Thailand. Firstly, the Inn has a sister hotel right behind it & these are the pictures you see when you are booking online. False advertising!
We spent our first night on the first floor. The room stunk of Asian food as there is a restaurant right beneath. We woke at 4am to a drunk couple having a huge argument in the room next to us. There were windows broken & the guy was that hammered, he then started trying to get into our room. The next morning we asked to be moved. They moved us to the fifth floor which was more quiet but our toilet leaked everytime you flushed. The cleaning staff never replaced dirty towels. Also on our last night we requested laundry & asked that it be ready for 8pm that night. When it had not arrived, we went to speak to the guy on reception. He went looking for it & handed the dirty laundry back to us. There was no elevator in this place. We didn't mind but for families with young kids - it would be a nuisance. The staff are never on the reception & on two occasions I had to walk to the sister hotel for clean towels. This place cost us 500AUD for five nights & again, I would not have paid anymore than $10 for this kip.
If you want an enjoyable holiday, do not stay here. Infact, if it's a relaxing/beach holiday you want don't go near Phuket at all. It's the place to be ONLY if you want a party with lots of prostitutes & alcohol.

Location is okay. Few minutes from the beach, few minutes from from jungceylon shopping mall, few minutes from bangla road. The rooms are okay. In the end what you pay is what you get. Plenty of tv channels, hot shower and fridge. Rooms can be smelly though. Reception ladys very helpfull.

First note that there is the Palm retreat Inn and there is the Palm retreat. The latter I believe is more modern but we stayed in the Inn. I was travelling with my wife and 2 daughters (4-yr and 3-mo).

First there is no elevator. First room we got was on the last floor (5th). Although they helped us with our luggage (3 + 1 stroller) it is still a good walk up. Second room we got was on the third floor; the reason we changed was because the toilet was not flushing.

The hotel is on top of a restaurant (indian-thai-italian!) and right next to the main road (so expect a lot of noise depending on where your windows are located). In any case it seems like Patong is not a place to sleep but to party, which was not the reason for our family vacation.

The rooms are small and outdated. The shower had good pressure but the temperature of the water changed slightly continuously. There is no room to leave anything on the ground floor (like our stroller) because the lobby is very small.

We paid 3,000 baht for this "family" room and we were overall disappointed because I was hoping for more when paying this much in Thailand (especially that we had travelled in Bangkok and the North before and the range of hotels for 3,000 baht was very good). Also, Patong is horrible unless you are looking for hookers or drunk people. The beach is not nice and the town has nothing to offer other than bars and overpriced restaurants.

Note:
1- we paid 500 baht per adult to go to freedom beach and that was worth it.
2- we paid a lot of money to go to Fantasea and our daughter loved it but for us it was a scam.

When it comes to hotels, my main priority is a clean room. If you feel the same way, do not stay here. The staff was nice and accommodating but the room was disgusting: mold on the shower curtains, large yellow stain on the sheets, bugs everywhere. Also the shower was broken and the TV barely worked. Once I got there, I realized that noise was inevitable, but if you haven't been there before, it is worth noting how loud the room is all night long. The staff was lovely, but I honestly don't think my room had been cleaned in quite some time. If you are simply looking for a place to rest your head, this is a good deal, but other than that, I would avoid this place!

Stayed here for one night before going on a sailing trip. Hotel is well located - tucked away and it was not noisy on the 4th floor in the evening yet only a 5 min walk from all the action. Room was clean and well ordered, aircon powerful and wi-Fi fast. The staff were friendly enough on reception. Given the low price, this place is a great 'stopover' hotel. Just don't book if you're on a honeymoon and expecting roses in the room and chocolates on the pillow !
