Description: We are pleased to announce that, on the 2nd October 2016, we relocated 'Halfway Inn' to the grounds of The Hill Resort, Patong, which is 450 metres past Christin Massage on the left hand side of the road heading South towards Karon, directly opposite PS Hill Resort. To avoid confusion the new place will be known as 'Halfway Inn - The Hill Resort' on popular social media. The old place will still serve bar snacks and drinks and is known as 'Halfway Inn Bar'. The indoor covered restaurant has a very traditional Thai theme with 10 individual 6 seater salas (bamboo huts) for 60 diners, 12 standard tables providing seating for 48 customers, and a central 'Bamboo Bar' with stools for around 20 punters. There is also a large sports bar area with 2 pool tables, 2 large screen TV's, a 2 metre wide projector screen and enough space for a 5 piece live band. Outside there are a further 3 salas with seating for 18 customers and what will be a covered BBQ sala. There is spacious off-road parking for up to 5 cars (or minibuses) and 30 motorbikes and easy access North (towards Phuket Town and Kamala) or South (towards Karon, Kata, Chalong and Rawai). There is also an access ramp for disabled customers at The Hill Resort reception steps (although, admittedly, it needs some improvement). Customers, old and new, will welcome the fact that we have paid attention to the few negative reviews we have received on TripAdvisor (and constructive criticism from our regulars). There is now much more space between different dining groups, excellent washroom facilities, and (optional) segregation between the restaurant and sports bar areas (in one half you can enjoy what games are going on while dining and listening to the music whereas the other will be more discrete). There are also comfortable rooms available at The Hill Resort, which is currently being renovated, bookings can be made online or in person. Bed and Breakfast prices are reasonable, the pool and rainforest surroundings are very pleasant, with a swim up bar, jacuzzi pool and kids pool. Some of the rooms on the upper levels have views over Patong Bay. Nan is enthused by the fact that can now create her mouth-watering dishes from a very large, modern kitchen with stainless steel appliances, the size of our existing restaurant / bar area in Soi Kepsap. We are both excited by the opportunities this new property offers and we trust that all our customers, old and new, will enjoy their visit here.

I am a frequent traveller throughout Asia and as I was staying local I thought I would call in to see how good this place was.
I have to say that it excels in every way. It's hard to pin point what the Halfway Inn really is as it has a great bar, amazing Cookery Classes, games nights and great western/Thai food. It's a place that keeps on giving. As well as other holiday makers the Halfway Inn is frequented by a handful of ex pats who can offer some great ideas for your holiday and prepare you for some of the pitfalls.
The staff are friendly and make everyone feel at home from the moment the walk through the door.
Keep it up team you are fantastic!

“Simply the best and friendliest place in Patong”
Reviewed 6 December 2013

My partner and I are two of the most shy and cautious people you could ever meet, yet the moment we walked in here we were so immediately and warmly welcomed by Dave, Nan and all the staff that we couldn't help but open up to the hospitality. We were most definitely not disappointed. Dave was very quick to introduce himself and let us know what the bar/restaurant was all about, and after numerous visits we were thrilled to see that he wasn't just talk.
Unlike most places in Patong, there's no bulls**t here. What Dave and Nan promise they deliver in aplomb, even far exceeding reasonable expectations. On only our second, and every subsequent, visit all the staff warmly welcomed us back by name and made us feel missed. Not only that, but they also remembered our preferred drinks from our previous visit.

The drinks are fantastic and very well priced, the food is incredibly cheap and wonderful (Nan's traditional Thai cooking is nothing short of spectacular, and she's only too happy to cook to your own personal taste), and the free BBQ three times a week is exactly that. Free, with no catches.

Long story short, if you're in Patong then you simply MUST visit the Halfway Inn. You'll find it impossible to not go back again, repeatedly.

Thank you Dave and Nan, we enjoyed every second of our time with your wonderful family and staff, you truly made our Phuket holiday memorable. Whenever we go back to Patong Beach, the Halfway Inn will absolutely be our first visit.

Many thanks again,

Andrew and Kristy.

“Excellent home cooked food and a fun family style ownership”
Reviewed 5 December 2013

I met Dave and nan last year, quite by chance we walked past their place. Now it is my thai food place of choice in patong. Why bother going to the tourist traps when here you have a good honest couple who cook and entertain you to the max

Nan makes the BEST thai food, its not a fancy place but her food is so good i have taken to trying to copy what she puts in her curries. Dave puts on free BBQ's, good food tastings, fun nights and generally goes above and beyond to keep people happy.

I just left Patong after a week and we ate there 3 nights out of 6... and i dont return if its not good

Try nans green curry and yum... Dont be put off by the fact that its a expat small cafe/bar. Eat here and you wont be dissapointed

The only down side is Dave supports the worst football team known to mankind, but for food this good you can put up with a Man Utd fan

“A pub from the outside, a family on the inside”
Reviewed 2 December 2013

Travelling with a mate, we stayed at the resort directly opposite the Halfway Inn, and unfortunately it was only halfway into our 16 day trip that we tried this great spot - and after which we were back there every day! With 5 TVs showing different sports you are sure to be able to watch what you want, and owner Dave and Manager Joy are more than happy to make sure you get to see the game you are interested in. But the best is yet to come - amazing food (thanks to the lovely Nan), ice cold beer, and lovely staff that are ever so willing to make sure your stay is enjoyable by having a chat, playing pool or table tennis, or even a dance after a few beers have been had.

There is definitely more to the Halfway Inn than meets the eye, and before long you will start to feel apart of the family. On our last night in Patong, Nan made us a big plate of our favourite dish (fried crispy pork - seriously you have to try this!!!) and got us to write a message on their roof, we really didn't want to leave!

3 nights a week the Inn does a free BBQ (all you have to do is return the favour by buying a few drinks). The BBQ is delicious! It includes an assortment of meats plus several different Thai dishes in big platters - some seriously good food. Also make sure your play a game or two of killer pool which is awesome fun, or have a crack at the nail game out front against one of the fantastic and friendly bar girls.

The Halfway Inn is definitely worth paying a visit while in Patong, if you are able to find it tucked away down Soi Kepsap nestled between a few massage parlours..but don't be put off by this, you will not be disappointed.

We will definitely be back - we are having Halfway Inn withdrawals already! Thanks heaps for many fun nights Nan, Dave, Joy and staff.

See you all again soon
