“Hotel strategically located in the heart of Patong area”
Reviewed 18 February 2013

The hotel is strategically located in the prime area in Patong and it's nearby to entertainment, food, shopping area and Patong Beach. The location is definitely something to cheer about as it's just 5 mins walk away from all those key locations.

The WiFi is rather unstable throughout the hotel and is relatively slow. Rooms are a little too dark and it's difficult to see around especially during at night. No tissue papers provided in the rooms too, thought this should basic for a 4-star hotel?

Bad ventilation in dining area causing dining area with too much smoke due to cooking (frying of eggs / omelet) during breakfast.

Phuket is such a hot island and having the hotel lobby without air-conditioning just kills off the mood while you sit there to wait for hotel transfer of the scheduled day trip.

We booked this hotel thinking it was going to be a fresh stay with big rooms, a nice pool, and a big balcony. The building was old and tattered, and the complex is situated right next to a huge building site. The elevators seemed old and slow, and the pool was dirty. Not worth the money!
We booked a deluxe room, but had to switch because of the noise from the construction site. The room we got instead was tiny with child-like drawings in the roof, No furniture on the balconies. The staff was rude; except for one of the bellboys who always had a smile on his face, and the lady who helped us cancel our booking to get a nicer hotel instead. Do not stay here until next year when the construction is completed!!

The hotel turned out to be a very old renamed and slightly refurbished, elevators looked like they were build in early 70s, everything looked very retro. The bathroom also had the very outdated looks, the tiles condition was bad.
I cant say service was bad, or food but overall impression is i d never return.

Room Tip: Our room was the only room having direct exit to the small internal hotel pool. Everyone could use i...

on paper & pictures this hotel this hotel is great. It's close to the beach, close to the mall, newly renovated and 4 stars.. unfortunately this hotel doesn't live up to any level of expectation especially for they are charging.
True its in a decent location, walking distance from beach and mall but so is most of the hotels in Patong so there they don't get a special mention for that.
newly renovated for this old building (work still in progress in some parts of the hotel) again true but and it's a big BUT.... I have a peeve with renovations to hotels done on low budget. but this hotels takes the prize in cheapness.... they used cheap material and worse still work done by clearly cheap unskilled workers, the finish is horrible... nothing is done properly for example towel railing in the bathroom falling off already, doors where painted with oil paint like some cheapo hostel, and what was the worst thing in this so called renovation is the elevator where they installed a sticker to look like wood but looks like 10 year old has done the job. there is not enough space on Trip Advisor for me to explain all that's wrong, i just wish i took pictures....so I will just say this (IT'S BAAAAD)
one more thing.... untrained cleaning staff. the only thing I think they where trained to do is to tuck the sheet in. floors where left with stains and even after complaining it didn't change a thing, because they just didn't have clue of what "clean" is.

the only highlight there was the friendly reception staff, but sorry guys your smiles is not enough to brig me back to this place.

Room Tip: IF you have to stay there, make sure you don't face the construction sight in the back. Beach vi...

Below are the reasons for this poor rating;
Huge building site behind complex.
The patio doors are very thin so you hear every hammer and drill at 6am.
No bed side or main bedroom lights so it's dark and you need to use the bathroom light to see.
The toilet in the bathroom is too close to the shower door so you need to sit on it sideways.
The lifts have been borrowed from a 70s hotel they appear that old and dicrepid.
The pool was closed 11-4pm on our first day as it was being cleaned.
On a positive note breakfast was good and the pool looks nice.
Avoid until it sorts itself out.

Room Tip: Go front of hotel to avoid building site

Reviewed 27 December 2012

To be fair to the hotel, our stay was during their "Soft Opening" period which ran from mid-December and goes to the end of January 2013.

The location of this hotel is SPECTACULAR! Situated almost half way between the Patong beach area and Jungceylon shopping center, this hotel is in the heart of the action in Patong. You can walk everywhere within minutes and the hotel is surrounded by spas, restaurants, and shopping.

Upon arrival at the hotel, there was a very distraught couple at the front desk arguing with hotel staff that they had booked the hotel online over a month in advance and were given a room that was still unfinished and very much under construction. Hotel staff informed them that there were no more empty rooms available. This of course made us very concerned that our booking for two rooms would not available.

We spoke to another front desk staff member (who spoke very little English) and he took our booking information and passport info and told us to sit and wait while they "look for an empty room."

After sitting for approximately 45 minutes and inquiring several times with the front desk staff and being told that they were "still looking." We were escorted to one room on the 8th floor and told that we should settle in first, shower, etc... and they would e continuing their search for an additional room.

The 8th floor room itself was nicely decorated with dark wood veneer walls and cabinets. The room is equipped with a fridge and a safe. A 27" flat screen TV is mounted to the wall. A kettle and wall mounted hair dryer are also supplied. The room has a number of large mirrors which make the room feel larger and a large built-in desk and wardrobe provide ample workspace and storage space for clothing.

The bathroom is equipped with a shower stall separated with a pane of glass. Note that water sprays across the opening where there is no glass. The entire bathroom floor gets wet during a shower. Good thing they supply two pairs of bamboo slippers for you to wear around the hotel room. The bathroom faucet was something out of star trek with a large glass dish for spout which looks very cool but does not function all that well and could be quite unhygenic as the dish covers a large part of sink and is difficult to avoid when spitting into the sink while brushing your teeth.

Air conditioning consisted of an old fan coil unit in the room with a new condenser unit on the deck area. The thermostat for the A/C was mounted 6" directly above the air outlet of the fan coil, making it very ineffective for detecting the actual temperature of the room. The works but did not do that great of a job of cooling the room.

The beds are new with nice looking linens. I found them to be a bit too soft as laying on the bed causes spine to be suspended in a arc which is very uncomfortable after a night's sleep.

About another hour into our arrival, the front desk staff knocked on our door and gave us a key to our second room situated on the 5h floor.

A wander around the rest of the 8th floor showed that many hotel rooms were unfinished. This hotel was a major rennovation of an older hotel and construction is still very much a work in progress. The unfinished rooms had very ornate old wooden doors that are replaced with more modern looking doors for the new rooms. Construction quality and attention to detail leaves much to be desired.

The 5th floor room was smaller with a single queen bed. The decor of this room is very similar to the 8th floor room that we were given. The bathroom area was quite poorly laid out with only about 6" between the front of the toilet and the pane of glass for the shower. Anyone over 5'6" tall would not be able to sit on the toilet without hitting the glass with their knees. The hot water did not work in this room and we were informed that "an engineer would be looking at it the next day." The hot water issue was never fixed.

Hotel staff seem very confused with their duties throughout our stay. Despite having a "Shhhh, do not disturb" sign on our door, hotel staff knocked numerous times in the morning asking if they could clean our room. Front desk staff seem very unsure of what their responsibilities are and much training is needed before this hotel can be considered a 4* hotel.

As the rennovations of the rest of the hotel are completed, this property has the potential to be a very nice one. During our stay, there were visible changes that occurred on a daily basis. There are only two public elevators that are functional at this time. The staff elevator which looks like something out of the 70's has buttons that are popped out and large chunks of the floor missing (I took it by accident.)

Would I recommend this hotel? I'd wait a few months until after their "Soft Opening" period is over and the hotel is more complete. Hopefully they will invest in training their staff to be more effective. As mentioned earlier, this location is spectacular and the hotel has potential to be great.
