The Banthai Beach Resort & Spa Patong Beach is a good 4 Star Hotel. In the Center of Patong Beach. Nice Rooms. Good Breakfast. 3 swimming pools. Bars & Restaurants. I asked for a quiet room but got one next to the Housekeeping Area. Very noisy. Hotel Staff very friendly as all the people in Patong Beach or Thailand are. Got only 1 hour Free Internet per day. Otherwise you need to spend 10 EURO per day for 24 hours Internet connection. Still remains a good Hotel in Patong Beach.

Room Tip: Do Not Take Rooms between 2410 - 2419 or 2310 - 2319 or 2210 - 2219 or 2110 - 2119 as this is the si...

The first thing which comes to my mind to describe my stay at the Ban thai is the word 'happening'. This property is in the heart of patong and if you want a hotel close to the beach and close to Bangla road you couldnt get better.

Positives:-
Location is very good, walking distance from the beach, shopping, bars and pubs.
Rooms are modern and I really like the balcony facing the pool, super for smokers.
Reasonably priced.

Negatives:-
Can be noisy, definately not for the peace seekers.
Beds could have been a little more comfortable.

Verdict:-
Super choice when visiting Patong. We went with friends and it was a lot of fun. step out and party or soak in the sun and when the sun went down the hotels close enough to get back from a night of crazy partying in any state!

Would definately visit again.

Room Tip: get a room facing the pool

I went here with a friend and we got seated in the middle of the outside area just in front of the stage whe live music was playing.
It quickly dawned on me that it was a mistake to go there, because the band playing thought that we where all the to listen to them and not to enjoy our dinner, so they played really really loud. This could have been acceptable if they had been any good, bud sadly they where really bad singers and they totally ruined the evening for us.

The food was mediocre and could in no means balance they loud music, on top of all this it turned out that this was absolutely the most expensive place I had been eating in the 2 weeks I been in Patong, 2500 bath for 2 people.

We recently stayed at the Banthai Beach Resort and loved every minute of our trip. This is our second time staying at this hotel and wouldn't stay anywhere else. The location is perfect, the hotel is set back from the main road in Patong requiring you to walk down a long driveway before entering the beautiful foyer (especially at night). Being set back allows the hotel to be more private and not have street noise travelling into the hotel. There are three fantastic pools, all with swim up bars but you can't go past Pool B (the middle pool). A special thank you to Tim and Jack who made us the best cocktails and kept everyone entertained with their games and tricks. They constantly check that you are OK and their customer service is A1. We already miss not going down to the pool around midday for a swim and endulging in a few drinks! We have stayed in a standard room twice now (3rd and 4th floors) and find this quite adequate for our holiday. Sure, there's no free WI-FI, you have to walk more than 5 steps to a pool, etc but we enjoy having a view over the pool and having some privacy. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. We have stayed at the Patong Merlin a couple of times before and although this is also a good hotel, we much prefer the Banthai. Breakfast choice is vast and having Mr Egg cook you an omlette, fried or scrambled eggs each more is a great way to start your day. We are also missing not having those delicious pancakes too each morning!

Close to Patong suitable for couples or party goers. Great hotel if you arent travelling with kids. Wish our travel agent had of said we would of spent 8 days with our son somewhere else! Hotel rooms and property is split and you have to walk through pools to get to each one there s another route but we didnt find it until last few days. Staff excellant location good food good. We are in Asia I get that but have travelled to Thailand before the safety is this hotel is a real issue. Bathroom was dangerous as having to step up and in behind a glass partition if you survived falling down the step and not slipping on the tiled floor when you entered the bathroom which resembles a tomb then good on you you are doing well. Rooms comfortable clean and well maintained design is poor and not good use of space. They charge you for EVERYTHING and ANYTHING at this hotel but with a big smile lol.I would not stay again I found getting around this hotel hard work for safety reasons and am not sure how other hotel guests who were out partying navigated about this hotel after dark and full of grog as it was hard work sober! No safety rails on stairs which are quite steep and slippery and after an intial fall it was the lift for me then onwards. Disapointing as I like to keep fit. Good hotel if you like the location and your idea of a holiday is getting on the booze. Ther were alotof older aussies boozing by the pool day in day out. No kids club or activities and tv cable wasnt working at the best of times and WIFI well it was ridiculous! No activites scheduled at this hotel its purely just food booze and accomodation the hotel is rather tired. Poor sleep quality as air con rattled away all night long. You will find better value somewhere else and absolutely no amenities for children my travel agent must have shares in this place I dont know why else she would recommend it I would NOT RECOMMEND for families with small children our son is 5.Pools were good but overused and it showed in the water quality. On the whole an average hotel for Patong.

Hi, my only negative about the Ban Thai was the beds. It was like sleeping on boards. Everthing else was great. It is a wonderful location away from the hustle and bustle as it is set well back from the main road. Pools are delightful.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who asked me where to stay in Phuket. It is very centrally located on Beach rd just a short walk away from Bangla and Rhatuthit (main rd where Junceylon shopping is located).

The staff at this hotel are very friendly and provide great service. The pool bar staff especially deserve a mention. They say hello whenever they see you. If you have been lounging by the pool for a while they bring over complementary little snacks (popcorn, water melon etc) just to see if you are okay and enjoying yourself. Housekeeping as well is fantastic - our sheets and pillow covers were changed daily without us ever having to ask. They cleaned very thoroughly spending around 30min in each room (we hung around the pool a lot and we could see this). Concierge were also very helpful with getting us a driver to get us from the hotel, to dinner to the Phuket night markets and back to the hotel again for 1500THB. This was a great price given it took around 5.5hrs and we already knew from researching around it would cost 1500THB to hire a driver for 4hrs (with extra to pay every hr there after). We paid the concierge the cash thus negating out the need to haggle price. All in all everyone was helpful and friendly.

Finally, prior to staying here I tried to find countless reviews on whether the deluxe pool access room was worth the extra cost in comparison to the normal deluxe room. Most seemed to suggest it wasn't worth it as the deluxe rooms were already located close to the pool however I totally disagree it is definitely worth the additional cost!!
1) pool access rooms have their own pool, which is shared with a few other pool access rooms. This is linked to the main pool which has the pool bar so its not isolated. It provides pool access room guests with some space to swim around in (as the main pool can get quite crowded) and furthermore the water feels cleaner - the main pool water is really warm and almost makes you feel as if you are in a warm bath tub (which I didn't find pleasant)
2) all deluxe pool access rooms have their own individual jacuzzi
3) no need to try and find the best pool side chair as your porch is your own pool side space
4) when the heat gets a bit much you can duck into your room for a few minutes to lounge around in an air conditioned space, grab a beer from the fridge, pop into the bathroom etc
5) it really is a lil haven away from the hustle and bustle of patong's various street hustlers!

I had a very pleasant stay here and would as mentioned above recommend this hotel to anyone. Having said this, there are a few points to note:
1) if you stay in a ground floor room and leave your porch door open you have to expect a few insects you can't blame housekeeping if you see a roach. I guarantee you they do clean the rooms well. Keep your doors closed when possible
2) although most of the hotel staff are fluent in English. Thailand's first language isn't English - if you ask for no salt on your eggs then you may want to stick around and ensure you don't get salt.
3) although we didn't have an issue I did read that banthai is pedantic with their towels upon check out you may want to put all of your towels into your bath tub prior check out
4) do your research about tours, cars etc and then hit up concierge. We got a price match on one of our tours (difference was minimal 200THB) when we showed the concierge we found a cheaper price. We preferred to book through the concierge as payment was made in cash to the concierge negating any need to pay tour operators who may try to upsell or haggle.
