I travelled from Hong Kong with my boyfriend, sister and her best mate and it was the first time we had visited Thailand. We chose this hotel based on the great reviews by other people on TripAdvisor, and we hoped it would be as good as they said....

We arrived late at night but the staff were happy to settle us in. They upgraded both of our rooms to the Balcony View from the Pool Access rooms. The room was already air conditioned, two bottles of water, tea and coffee were supplied every day free of charge. Room was very clean throughout our stay.

As our group was between 18-25yrs old we had already planned some trips or had ideas of trips we wanted to go on. The hotel reception was only too happy to point out reliable trips to go on. My sister and her friend had a trip arranged for them by the hotel at short notice for the next day to go snorkelling and visit Coral Island. I was impressed by the service of the lady at reception at her persistence in booking that particular trip for my sister. The trip turned out a success and my sister got some great underwater pictures.
We also booked Kok Chang Elephant Safari and SimbaSea Trips to PhiPhi islands. Both were fantastic.

Of particular note is the helpfulness and friendly face of the hotel owners' daughter; she runs 24hr housekeeping. She always had a smile on her face and sat down with us and pointed out all the places to see around the south side of the island. She also recommended non-tourist local areas to visit.... e.g. deserted beaches away from heckling crowds.

My boyfriend and I also had a joint massage with the body scrub. It was my first time having a massage. It was so relaxing, very good service and the smells were heavenly from the oils, scrub and body butter. I absolutely recommend the Aloe Vera for sunburnt skin! All massages are full body rubs and you are naked. Total cost was £60.13 between the two. Excellent value for money.

The thing I would fault is the speed of the service at breakfast time and the dishes you order don't always arrive at your table, so you have to chase these up. The value of the food is more expensive at the Hotel than the food booths near Hard Rock Cafe. Watch out for the 17% additional charges at hotels too - these add on more than you might think for a meal or a few rounds of cocktails. The 17% dont apply to food stalls!

Swimming pool isn't busy, internet access is by payment card with a code.

Nice place. We paid about $65USD. Very good deal. A bit down the beach, but a $1 tuk tuk ride. About 1/2 mile from the night life which was good. We got massages in the lobby while we waited for our room. They just came out and offered. They didnt have our internet booking (booked the day before) because their internet wasnt working so if you stay, make sure you print your booking. No problem though. Decent pool. Nice bar.
The only 2 negative were that our "pool access" room was actually not. You could open the door and squeeze through all the plants to get to the pool but only in an emergency. :) There are pool rooms though and they looked nice. The rooms are nice as well. The other is the beach right outside the hotel was really gross. Lots of garbage. This place is a good deal though for sure.

Very good small boutique hotel ,across the beach,in a quiet area of Patong which means u need to walk for about 15 minutes for Bangla rd or for shopping. However, little pricey compared to other hotels. If u want some privacy and to be away from crowded beach, this is suitable.

My partner and I just came back from the Avantika after a short 3-day break. It was our 5th time staying there over the past 3 years. We travel extensively around Asia and Europe for work as well as pleasure. And we can safely say that the Avantika is a special place that has it all. Its a great little hotel nestled in a quiet nook on the otherwise noisy Patong beach. All the rooms, except the pool view rooms, have breathtaking views across Patong Bay. The rooms are nicely appointed with excellent furniture, a lovely bathroom & a spacious balcony. The restaurant, Amrita, is located looking out to the sea. The breakfast offerings are lovely and menu has recently been spruced up, so the cuisine delectable. But arguably, the best feature of Avantika is the attentive, helpful and genuinely friendly staff. Led by the Dhammaraks siblings, Knot - the Managing Director and Noi - his lovely sister who handles all guest relations, the staff exemplify what it means to offer diligent customer service with great professionalism and enthusiasm. No request was too much and nothing ever seemed to difficult to arrange. This must be the most endearing quality of the Avantika. A combination a beautiful beach, lovely rooms, a great restaurant and magnificent staff, make the Avantika Boutique Hotel the best hotel in Patong (and possibly Phuket). Do not bother going anywhere else!

This resort is nice, modern and clean. The rooms are nice with everything you need, bathroom toiletries provided, re-stocked everyday.

We had a room with pool access which was very convenient and handy. Unfortunately outside the room entrances, there's a sewage-like smell. When entering the room, there's also something smelly, really was not sure what, but it wasn't too bad and you do get used to it. However, for a lovely resort like this, you wouldn't expect it to be smelly.

Bed is comfortable, the bathrooms are very clean and nice, there's a bath tub. Our package came with breakfast for all 3 days. Breakfast at the restaurant is good, staff are nice. We actually missed out on Breakfast for one day because we woke up too late, but they were nice enough to still serve us toast, yoghurt and orange juice since we missed out.

I'd recommend this place as its good value for a nice resort, just the smell outside and inside the room I hope they could improve on.
