Arrived at the resort 3 hours early. Wouldn't let us check in until 2pm witch is understandable. Paid the extra money to have a bungalow but when they took us to it, it was still dirty and looked like there was people in that room so they took us to another one after making us wait half hour. The next one they took us to was also dirty. Had hair all over the floor and sink, old soap still in the shower and dirty towels.
So then they took us to a normal room but said it was the delux so it was meant to cost the same amount but it wasn't a bungalow.

On our second day there we got a fly in the omelet. Not even a sorry or anything. Didn't say a work just took it away.

Shower was crap. Hot would only work on full but you couldn't shower under it because it was to hot. If you adjusted it there was nothing.

They charge you 10% on everything you buy at the restaurant or pool bar. Then a service charge on top of that. The others resort we went to all that was put in the advertised price.

No smiles or welcome.

Only one person spoke minimal English.

Rude rude rude. Everything seemed like a hassle for them to do for you.

So I visited Thailand with very low expectations, being my first trip I didn't know what to expect.
Firstly I stayed at Ban Yuree, the hill was crappy but defiantly walkable. I would recommend there and never come back to this place again.
Arrived 3 hours early so left our bags at the resort and went for a walk. The staff knew we were here and asked to come back at 2pm. No worries.
While I waited in the lobby a staff member and guest were arguing about a lost key. The staff member was very rude and didn't care but 15 minutes later the staff member had the guests key in his pocket the whole time.
Got back at 2pm and they took us to our bungalow. What a horrible mess. It was trashed. Old bed sheets etc, dirty towels everywhere, filthy bathroom. Hadn't even been cleaned and they expected us to wait 20 minutes standing at the door while they cleaned it. No way.
Offered to take us to another bungalow. Ok. Yet again. It was not even cleaned and air con didn't work.
Asked for our money back yet they refused. $600 for a week, you would expect it to be right first time round.
3rd time lucky right?
Lucky for them they did get it right. Ended up in a completely different room though that they claimed was the same price.
Don't expect a hot shower as there is no hotel water. And the shower pressure is horrid.
Breakfast. Not great. And every meal you have will probably have a fly in it.
Cocktails and relaxing by the pool? Don't count on it. They don't serve you for ages and the service charge is beyond ridiculous. Sure 60baht isn't much in AUD but they don't tell you this when you order. 10 minutes to get 2 cocktails also.
English speaking staff? There is none.
Care factor for guests. Nil.
Everyone is right. This place is over run with Russians, although didn't seem to bad to us.
Wasn't even game enough to try lucnh or dinner here.
One positive about our stay though was English speaking television. Movie channels. And our air con worked. But don't rely on that as a good note. Because the 2nd room they tried to put us in the air con didn't work.
Not worth the money when our first accommodation was half the price.
Good luck to anyone who decides to stay here and I hope your experience is better then ours was.

A had a horrible experience with the hotel, was provided a cottage that was filled up with mosquitoes at all hours, the washroom has no doors a very small and cramped room, the drains in the bath and basin where choked up and despite complaining no action was taken. The hotel staff could be least bothered if you are not displaying euros or dollars.
Would not recommend anyone to stay here.

i have known this hotel since the first year after opening in 1991 and had been guest for at least 25 times. till about 5 years ago the hotel had a varied mixture of people from all over the world, mainly from western europe. nowadays it's dominated by russians.
I've been used to travel to many countries all over the world and I'm generally friendly to foreigners but I have some restrictions against russian people because they are not able to speak any other word than russian language, they are arrogant, ignorant, impolite, very noisy and very rude. they ignore almost all rules, they jump into the pool all over the night, drink plenty of vodka and gin and other hard drinks and prevent other guests to fall asleep and they leave all their waste nearby the swimmingpool.
incidentally noted, the garden is partly very badly maintained.

if you leave the hotel via stuff exit -to shorten the walk to the city -behind the pool you walk into a mountain of waste disposal and after sundown families of rats run around. this corner of the hotel is really disastrous.
the hotel management would be well advised to restart to recrute more and more guests from outside russia or the hotel is definitely a russian hotel where no other nations want to return again

Room Tip: not too close to the partly very noisy pool area
