We booked 9 nights in this hotel in a standard Garden Wing room. We travelled down in a taxi from Nai Yang where we had stayed at Indigo Pearl. As we drove into Patong everything seemed quite hectic and so we were relieved when the taxi driver drove down a side street with a very respectable looking hotel at the end of it.

Check in was fine and we were given welcome drinks. Generally, the hotel grounds seemed okay as we were taken to our room. It was when we saw our room that I felt extremely disappointed. The Garden Wing rooms are a row of one level buildings with walkways directly outside for access to the pool and lobby. The room itself was very basic and uncared for. The furniture was dark and old. The walls were covered in marks. The matress was really hard and uncomfortable. The door from outside entered directly into the bedroom and due to the public walkway immediately outside of our window we felt we wanted our curtains closed both when we were in and out for privacy and security. The old dark furniture in a room with no natural daylight seemed even more depressing.

I could have perhaps put up with this room for 9 nights but the bathroom was awful. There were stains on the floor, damp marks on the ceiling, the toilet didn't flush properly. The tiles looked as if they had been put on blindfolded, there were huge gaps between the tiles which hadn't been filled in and holes in the walls that hadn't been filled in either. There was a dirty shower curtain around the square shower unit in the corner of the room. The fan for the room was in the shower and a spiders web blew next to it which was very off putting whilst trying to have a shower.

My boyfriend had proposed to me the previous evening and so we were both trying to be positive about the room and hotel. We unpacked to try and make it feel more homely and less depressing. However, after my first shower I explained that I couldn't stay here, I knew I would be counting down the days until we left. We stayed for the first night but the next morning after an uncomfortable sleep on a hard matress we made the decision to cancel our booking and find a new hotel.

The staff at the hotel weren't particularly helpful during our short stay. When we complained about the room they didn't seem suprised and made no effort to resolve our dissapointment with the room. When I went to reception to explain that we would be checking out that day, the girl looked at the clock (11.45) smiled and asked very sarcastically 'in 10 minutes?'. We both knew they would do all they could to charge us for an extra night so we ran back to the room, threw our clothes etc into our suitcases and returned to reception by 12 to check out.

Other points to note are that there was no in-room safe and so there was a long walk to reception everytime we wanted to use it. The hotel is in an okay location but the other side of Patong (near Holiday Inn) is a much nicer area and there are lots of nice hotels much closer to the beach than Deevana. The breakfast was average.

Hope this helps - please look at other places to stay, there are so many nicer places. We moved to Burasari for our final 8 nights.

I stayed 14 nights at the Deevana Patong in a deluxe jacuzzi room in the spa wing. Our room was great, good air conditioning and cleaned daily.
The spa wing pool has a pool bar and they have happy hour 2 for 1 drinks from 4pm - 5pm daily, there were always lots of people at the bar at this time which was great for meeting people. Also the bar staff were really friendly!
After reading some reviews we were a little concerned that the Deevana would be located too far from everything but it is really in a great location, it's only a 5-10 minute walk to the beach and a 10-15 minute walk to Bangla Rd. We hardly ever bothered getting tuk-tuks because there are plenty of shops/stalls and things to look at on the walk to the beach or town anyway.
The daily buffet breakfast at the Deevana was awesome, huge selection of food and breakfast is available from 6am-10:30am. They had everything from fried rice, pasta, vegetables, egg, bacon, croissants, etc. to waffles, cinnamon donuts, cake, etc.
All the staff at the Deevana were really nice and extremely helpful. I would recommend the Deevana to anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Patong.

My friend and I booked two Spa Wing Junior Suite for 7 nights.

Location: Very nice and not too far from the beach.
Staff: Very friendly and helpful.
Breakfast, found it not really great but neither really bad.
Pool: Not big, but ok and with a pool bar.

This will be my first priority for my next Phuket holiday.

What a disgraceful, nasty place. I booked through websawadee, who showed the most beautiful pictures. When I got there the staff were not only rude but snotty, which already should say much as Thai people generally are of the friendliest in the world.

I was offered a room that I am sure used to be staff quarters and were converted to guest rooms. It resembled a row of stables all accessible from an outside door. The interior was shabby, old, run-down, the rooms were small and the toilet had excrement all over it.

The location of the hotel for the prices they charge is also way over the top. You are assured of a good supply of mosquitos just to cheer up your holiday. In short, it does not live up to other 2/3 star hotels by a long shot. Generally hotels in Phuket in this price range offer quite large rooms with decent beds, friendly staff and a good location. There is no airconditioning in the main areas so you end up with a sweaty poorly prepared breakfast served by a snotty hotel compliment.

Don't go there. Ever. An even bigger problem is that once you book over the internet, it is impossible to get back your money. Make sure that you don't get duped into a poor hotel with nice pictures because once you are there you are locked in. I think their market is to sell packages to the Eastern block so the hotel is full of el-cheapo guests while they charge exhorbitant rates over the internet.

We have just returned from phuket and really enjoyed staying at our hotel. We booked the deluxe room which at A$120-A$130 per night was pretty good. Those travelling on a budget will be happy to know that this hotel also offers small standard rooms at about A$40 per night which has the basics of a bed, TV, aircon and bathroom. Ideal for groups of people where some may prefer the deluxe rooms with pool view and those that prefer the cheaper rooms but all get to stay in one hotel.

Breakfast was included. Nothing fancy but certainly no complaints.

The pool has a bar you can swim up to with cocktails at A$10 and happy hour at 4pm - buy one get one free!!

The hotel is located off the main street (Pee Road) so away from all the busy traffic. 10 minutes away is Patong beach on Beach Road and you will find Bangla Road (for bars/clubs) about a 15 min walk away. Taxi's (or Tut Tut's as known in Phuket) should only cost approx 100 THB to 150 THB to and from the hotel (about A$5 - A$7).

Taking a walk down Pee road you will pass many shops for shopping and food. worth exploring the different stalls for food as can be very tasty and very cheap.

Overall, loved our stay, loved the loved the location and would definitely stay there again.
