Fantastic!

This was our second time visiting Patong beach but the first time at Sunset Beach Resort. Very special, wonderful accommodating staff, nothing was too much trouble. We were initially given 2 rooms nearest the road, however when I requested a room change, overlooking the pool, this was willingly given to us 2 days later...which suited us fine. Lovely view over the pool, large comfortable room, huge bed, coffee/tea-making facilities in the room. Our sons were one floor up and they were just as comfortable. Modern shower and bath facilities too. We also enjoyed the shuttle service offered to 'Jung Ceylon'/Bangla Road', every half hour as this gave us a chance to meet and chat with folk from other countries, although most came from SA. The driver of the shuttle was also willing to drop us off further down the road, or even in beach road near Mc Donalds (1 or 2), but the pick up (return to hotel), remained the same. We also found a lovely massage place in the little back road behind the main hotel and of course, Mr Sam's travel was also in the little alley! What a blessing! We will definitely return to this wonderful resort! (PS: very delicious food stalls pop up from 2pm along the road and we all enjoyed the calamari, chicken on skewer, all freshly cooked and extremely cheap. If only we had 'trusted' the food earlier, as it was delicious and well worth it! Once discovered, it was our regular dinner...together with banana and condensed milk pancakes!! A real bargain!

Stayed at Sunset Beach for 10 days in July 11.
Had a junior suite Poolview - was good, clean and well appointed. Having a separate bedroom from the lounge was excellent. The free shuttle into Patong was brilliant, on time and no problem getting a seat. The satay and crispy prawns by the pool are recommended.
The minimart down the alley behind the hotel is very usesful. Brought my beer and ice creams there.
Absolutely no problems or complaints about this resort...will go back there again.

The service, facilities and food was superb and the breakfast buffet (especially the srambled eggs/chef ) was magnificant. The facilities were great and I tended to stay at the resot at night as it is safer and much cheaper than the bars in phuket. The bar staff ,day or night are very friendly and the service provided was excellent. Infact myself and my friends could not have been more happy with the conditions and the service supplied by the resort.

Room tip: I had a room on the 2nd floor overlooking the pool peaceful and quiet great

We visited Phuket's Sunset Beach Resort in August 2011 and had the best time.
The location of the resort was just out of the main centre of town which made it a lovely quiet place to stay.
The hotel shuttle left every 30 minutes for the centre of the shopping and entertainment area and the last shuttle was at 9pm which is great for some cool night shopping or a meal in one of many resturants in the town centre.
The best surprise was that we could eat at the hotel resturant every night at a very low price and the meals were plentiful and full of flavour, with a great menue of Western or Asian food.
Free breakfast was plentiful and had a late finish time of 11am for the late risers .
The rooms were light , clean and cool and had every thing you need for a relaxing stay in Phuket.
All the staff were polite and helpful, allways ready to help with any request.
We booked three days of Tours and shows with Viva Tours for a very reasonable rate .
Being picked up at the hotel and taken to all the places and shows we wanted to see, being offered food and drink constantly and looked after very well.
This trip was worth the 7 hour flight from Perth and will stay at this hotel again on our next trip to Phuket.
Thank you to all the staff for making us feel very welcome.

Room tip: Rooms on the ground floor with pool access are the best

we had a sea view room on the top floor.my only complaint was there was no shower but our kids were one floor down so we shared.it is just a fab hotel with all the importatant things needed and catered for.my best was the singer at supper who played south african songs.the shuttle bus saved us a fortune as cabs are expensive and if you flirt a bit you can sit up front with a/c and a very silent driver.our whole trip per person for 14 nights incl. 2 nights and flights was r10 000.brilliant deal love thailand better than bali anytime

Really enjoyed our time here. Unfortunately both of us got violently ill(stomachbug). Aust pills did not work, however reception have pills available (we found out afterwards....) Food was great, don't eat western, you go to thailand, eat thai food. Pool was lovely, staff were helpful, massages are just as good up to the left in the alleyway (her name was Poi) and cheaper than the resort. The rats at breakfast were terrifying, however as we were located right across the road from the beach, what can you expect. (I am petrified of rats/mice) We would recommend it and definitely go back. We ordered room service, with no problems, and breakfast, lunch and dinner were all fantastic.

Room tip: Get a pool side room get laundry done in the alleyway and supermarket for drinks/snacks
