I stayed here with my bestfriend for like 5 days last october 6. The receptionist are very rude, except for one filipino guy which has been nice to us! We upgraded our room and was paying 4000 thai baht everyday, but most of the time we need to call housekeeping to clean our room, because they always forget to clean our room every morning. All Staffs are okay, but the receptionists are not. They are very impolite.

The location is beside patong beach yes, but patong beach is dirty.. So I suggest if anyone goes to phuket, go to karon beach instead of patong beach. In bangla road most restaurants are still quite expensive except for The Number 6 Restaurant, people in this restaurant are nice and food is cheap.

When you go shopping, do not go shopping at bangla road, people there are very rude and they tend to give you a very high price. Go shopping on the kiosks after Phuket Hospital, I forgot the road name, but once your in phuket hospital, you need to cross the road where the stoplight is then walk 1 - 3 meters, and you will see boutiques and kioks. there there is a lot of choices to browse to, and way quality and cheaper, plus people in this area are very nice!!!

Hi
I stayed here with another friend of mine for four nights during Oct 2012. We both had rooms with pools views which was nice. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable.
Location wise this hotel is superb. its within a 5 minute walk of the main night life area and straight across the road from the beech.
Every night except the first night we ate in the restaurant out the front of the hotel. Food was excellent! Only negative we had was even though we both paid for a double occupancy rooms we each had to pay extra at reception if we had guests staying with us!
Lie ins in the morning were difficult barbecue there is a lot of building work ongoing in the hotel.

Room Tip: Pay for the better spec rooms

Dont make the mistake to take the cheapest room (no view/window) We had a delux with Pool View Poom which was very spacy and well decorated. Lovely Restaurant with great food quality and service toped with nice music performance .Breakfast buffet is very good quality with big variation. Locaed just at the Beach makes this place very attractive for us and we definitly will be back. The only surprise was the guarantee of THB 3000.- given with Credit Card , we where advised that it can take up to 2 weeks till released !!!!! You should change something about that , it gives a bad impression. All in all we had a very positive surprise .

Room Tip: Do not take the cheapest rooms (no view / window)

10 months ago, we said we would only return if the front desk staff were replaced. They have. You still have to be the first to smile to get one back but they don't try to make things difficult nor do you get a sour face upon sight. Great improvement.

There's free wifi throughout the hotell which is great. The rooms are spacious. Clean and modern. Good bathroom amenities. The bathroom lighting in the seaview rooms are too dark for us. Probably because it's bigger to fit a tub, compared to the poolview rooms, where there are no tubs but the numbers of LED lightings is the same. There's a rain shower as well as a hand-held shower. It's great if you have kids.

Upgrading and expansion work is still going on. If you are out most of the day, then the noise won't be a bother. It has a potential to look really good. The exterior and interior designers are good. However, we can't say the same for the workmanship. The sockets are probably all misaligned. The one in the bathroom looked like it was going to drop off with an inch hole in the wall. There are now international sockets in the rooms, so it's no problem even if you forget your travel adapter - that is if you can plug the thing it. Brut strength required. Once you get your plug in, you won't want to unplug it.

Housekeeping can be slow. Pool towels are only changed if the towels are in the room when housekeeping comes to clean your room. We asked for a change of pool towels but no one came even after 3 hours.

Breakfast was ok. The local variety and quality is good.

The hotel charges 1000 baht for overnight 'guest'. This can be a pro or a con depending on your needs. You are less likely to be disturbed by noises. And it's more family-friendly this way.

Hotel security is not tight. It's easy for people to walk in from the side road and even from the beach road restaurant.

On the whole, it was quite a pleasant stay. For the price we paid through Agoda, we can't complain.

Room Tip: Beware that there are windowless rooms. The NEW seaview rooms are farther from the band that plays t...

Very Very Hesitant about this place from all the mixed reviews, but turned out great. The Location is Superb! You should book this place just for the location honestly. The breakfast buffet was nice and convenient. We had a deluxe pool view, I recommend because the pool access has zero privacy! Everyone at the pool can see into your room if curtains are open. Friendly staff, good value at the restaurant. The place transforms at night and all the trees light up. Really is beautiful. The beach is RIGHT THERE. And shopping and restaurants up and down the whole street. Great Stay in Patong before we headed south to Kata. Kata beach is more laid back and beautiful but there is so much great shopping in Patong!!

Room Tip: The rooms tend to get stuffy, so keep your towels and bathing suits spread out so they can get some...

The location, pool, and breakfast buffet are all positives. However, we booked a room through hotels.com last minute and were given a room behind the reception desk. While the room and bathroom were large, and the AC was cold, it was a dark room with no windows. The room could also use some updating, as could the door, it is two panels that lock (sort of) in the middle. The room was also noisy due to the busy reception area that is right in front of the room, and late night band that played at the restaurant. If we had a room in another area could have rated the hotel higher. Hotel also required a $100 key deposit or 3000 baht. We enjoyed the pool area and bar, especially happy hour where all drinks were buy 1 get 1. The breakfast buffet, included in our rate featured many options and had something for everyone. Would stay here again, but would make sure to book a refurbished higher category room.

Room Tip: Dont't book a room behind reception desk with no windows

My partner and I stayed at Baan Laimai for 2 weeks in October 2012.
After reading all the horrible reviews I was terrified of staying there, until we pulled up out the front at 12am and were taken straight out of the taxi by the bellboy and whisked away to reception, we were treated like VIP's. Check in was the easiest ever, and we were taken straight to our room(Deluxe pool view room).
Our room was beautiful, lovely and clean. Everything was exactly as it looked in the pictures.
The bed was really firm, but we slept well and woke up very refreshed every day.
The room was very quiet.. The "live band" every night was not as loud as it is made out to be, could not hear it with doors closed.
House keeping was very efficient, always came back in the afternoon to a clean room, fresh towels and linen everyday, and the young lady who cleaned our room was very sweet.
The pool was great, shallow in areas so you could just relax and deep enough in other areas so you could swim around. The pool bar was so much fun, so many cocktails to choose from and the bar staff were very friendly, Marwin especially :-)
There was work going on around the hotel, but you could not hear this from our room (which was right below the work going on)
You could book tours through the hotel, and the lady who ran this service was full of honest advice, and gave discounts where she could, and remembered us and where we had been every time we went back.
The location of the hotel was perfect, a very short walk from bangla rd, and shops and lots of restaurants right out the front.
Checkout was a breeze, we were given our deposit back straight away, and they held our bags, free of charge, for a few hours while we had time to kill before our flight.

I can't say enough wonderful things about this hotel, I would definitely recommend it, and I will definitely be staying there again.

My biggest tip for people staying in Thailand, a smile goes a long way! If you are nice to the staff, shop keepers, tuk tuk drivers etc, they will respect you and give you the best service they can.
