We stayed from the 23rd of July till the 5th of August.
Had the most amazing time. Stayed in the older section on the top floor. Certainly didn't disappoint. We were hoping to get into the sunset wing but in the end we were more than happy with the room we got.

The new pool was fantastic. More for the grown ups with deep water and an awesome pool bar. The bar man "Tom cruise" made fantastic cocktails. Make sure u go in happy hour. A lot of people complain that resort drink prices are expensive, compare them to australia and its heaven.

If you are walking down the main road opposite the beach a must do is to stop at the first " takeaway cocktail bar". A little stall under a tarp next to shop/markets. Tar tar the owner speaks good English and is the most friendly person. Tell him Jen and Aaron sent you!! We drank a few cocktails there most nights and even got a memento present from him when we left. Very cheap!!

Booking tours we went to the first tour box at the back of the Graceland. It's owned by the Eden bungalow resort. Neno~ the full time worker there is also incredibly friendly. He made our trip so memorable, recommending only the best company's for us to do. Also because it was off peak he made sure we had at least 50% off normal prices. Again tell him Aaron and Jen sent you.

We ended up giving both Of these lovely Thais very generous tips because without them our trip would have been nowhere near as good!!!

The resort was everything you could ask for.! Clean rooms, 2 bottles of water every day. We were a bit worried after reading many negative comments but don't listen to them. It's not a 5 star luxury spa but for what you need it's more than accommodating.

Loved it and can't wait to return next year.

Overall fantastic location. Make sure u visit neno and tar tar and u will have
The most amazing time!

Happy travels

We booked to stay at Gracelands in early July 2012 and on arrival we quickly realised
that this hotel was not of the standard we expected from a four star hotel. We have
travelled extensively in Australia,New Zealand and Europe and are quite familar with
four star properties. Gracelands may have been quite a grand hotel in its day but is
now looking rather dated.
Some specific things that stood out were:
•The décor and furniture in the lobby was dated and the giant plastic palms in poor taste,
The building in which we stayed was noisy. The floor tiles and lack of furnishings did little to buffer the noise of people moving along the long corridors.
The hallway leading to our room was poorly lit and it was difficult to see the room number shown on our door,
•We did not choose a ‘pool view room’ because we were concerned about the noise. We specifically requested a quiet room. Instead we were allocated a room that overlooked the entrance to Graceland’s Resort with many car movements in and out of the resort. In addition to the car movements directly below our room we were woken in the early morning to the sounds of staff undertaking maintenance, hammering and using carpentry equipment.
•The lift in our building was old and small. It also did not correctly display the floor number. When we got out of the lift the level did not match and were on the wrong floor.
• There were signs outside the lifts in the building we stayed in - asking people who only wanted to travel one floor to use the stairs instead.
•The beds were of a very poor quality – very hard with a minimum of padding over the inner springs,
•The TV was an old analogue version controlled centrally from a box fixed to the bedside table. There was no instruction manual or TV program.
•We did not attempt to eat in the resort restaurant that evening and preferred to dine in a more suitable setting down at Patong Beach.
We stay one night and decided that we would move to other suitable accomodation elsewhere in Patong.

Room Tip: Maybe a room with a garden view

What an awsum resort.
We stayed in a deluxe pool view room, which I highly recommend. I have nothing negative so say about it at all.
The staff were very friendly and courteous and always greet you with a beautiful smile.
The Rooms were quite spacious and very clean, however there was only 2 of us in the room and there was a Queen bed and a double which I think they should take out if not needed just to give a little bit more space.
The Breakfast was beautiful and very fresh, they provide hot foods as well as cereal, fruit, pancakes, muffins and also Thai style breakfast.
The pool was beautiful and clean and always looked very inviting, however at times was a little crowded and a vacant deck chair was hard to come by, I did notice some people getting up early though and placing there towels on them so as when they decided to get up and have a swim there chair was there which really annoyed me!!
Shopping was a nice distance away 5 minute walk, or if you want to go to Bangala Road there was TukTuks waiting outside the main gate and it was usually around 200 THB.
We will be staying there again next year and we are taking our family with us.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

This was one of 3 places we stayed at during this Phuket trip. It had nice pools and the rooms are large and comfy. The breakfast buffet is average. Our kids enjoyed the bowling alley. We started in the new sunset wing in a pool view room. The rooms were very new and modern. Unfortunately the noise from the construction site and the almost constant pile driving that shook us 12 hours a day made us move into a pool view room in the old wing. This room was similar to the sunset wing room except a hundred years older. The sunset wing pool is also very nice but unfortunately there is only about 10 deck chairs there so it's rare that you can lie by it. The staff in the lobby and the restaurants (particularly the breakfast area) were disinterested and verging on rude. The other staff seemed nice.

The best thing abou this resort was the swim up bar in the pool. They could make you whatever you wanted and they just charge it to your room so you dont need to take any cash with you. You can also order food by the pool and they bring it to you. At around 3pm there would be live entertainment at the pool and it would be quite lively. It is a great place to meet people. There is also another rooftop pool which is good if you want somewhere a bit more relaxing. The resort is across the road from paong beach, and in walking distance to the main district, with shops/restaurants/clubs/pubs all at your doorstep. The rooms are what let down this hotel, they are average. Nothing special but not diapointing either. They need to be refurbished and some new decor wouldnt hurt to liven it up a little. You get a balcony which is nice, we made friends with our neighbours. If you like a lavish room, this resort is not for you,

Reception service was poor as was the room service. Dirty linen and being across from the pool, thumping music all day. Food poisioning from room service. In all I would never go back. Considering it is an international resort with mainly English speaking people, the communication was bad.
