Tony Resort

There are two sides to Tony Resort - the old and the new(ish).

The old, is the older part of the hotel where rooms are very basic (but priced accordingly) and noisy because they seem to be surrounded by aircon units that never stop. Recently I stayed in one of these rooms for 3 nights knowing not to expect alot. It was very basic, but clean.
I then transferred into one of the newer rooms in the main hotel that sits over the reception area. Rooms were large and spacious, again clean with a nice outlook over the main swimming pool. Very comfortable and unless you are looking for 5 star, you could not be disappointed.
10 nights all up cost about $600AUD which is terrific value considering you are 5 minutes walk to the main enertainment strip and to the beach. There are good restaurants and shopping at your door.
This place has converted me. I used to not be happy unless I was spending $300 a night on a room but I realise now what a waste that can be when you are out all day and late at night and you just need a good place to sleep and shower.
This place is perfect for that.
When booking, just make sure you get a room upstairs over looking the main pool(there are two) and you will be fine.
There is free wifi for guests but it only works down in the reception area.

Had to stay here for 1 night due to airline stuff up. this is a no frills hotel so don't expect the hairdryers and robes. However it was immaculately clean, great staff and very central. Breakfast is basic but certainly adequate. For anyone on a budget this is perfect.

8 of us, 4 adults 3 kids and a baby checked into the hotel on the 4 sept 2010 for a 5 days 4 nights stay. We requested 3 connecting rooms but the hotel only provided us with 2 connecting room and the 3rd days, they moved us together. When we checked in, there was a baby cot in the room. Hotel room seems to be recently renovated with the smell of painting on the wall. We had been eating the same breakfast for 4 days,i/e, fried eggs, scramble eggs, omeellte, sausage, bacon, ham, white and brown bread, sweet roll, cococrunch, honey star, tea n coffee, watermellon, and pineapple. Orange juice, pineapple juice, milk, and water. It took us about 7 to 10 minutes to walk to the nearby Jungcleon shopping centre with carrefour. We never got a chance to walk to the Patong beach because it was too far from the hotel. Opposite the hotel was a Let's relax massage centre and always fully booked n u have to pay deposit to reserve booking. With the price of RM155..the hotel is consider ok.

We 3 guys stayed at a Deluxe room @ 2nd floor for 2 days. Room had 3 individual beds. Rooms were nice and clean.... Service was good.. good breakfast menu... Had a small swimming pool but nice and clean....

Best Feature is close proximity to Patong beach and Bangla Road........ Though we had the problem of Mosquitoes in the room, we adjusted by keeping the room temperature at low level..... (close the door when u go out and keep the Aircon at low temp.)

Simply, It is really worth for what we paying........

This hotel is in a good spot one road back from beach rd and halway between the Patong O Top Markets and Bangla Rd. It is set back from the street so you dont get a lot of noise although its in a busy area. Make sure you ask for a pool view room. We got one of the older rooms with a view of a concrete wall, patchy paint on the walls and a shower that didnt work the first 2 nights. The staff were kind enough to move us to a pool view room once someone checked out and ensured that all of us (4 rooms) were on the same floor and close to one another. There is a family mart right outside and the hotel staff didnt mind that we brought our drinks there to drink around the pool. The drinks at the family mart are at least 3 times less than what the hotel sells them for. The pool and bar area is noce and the have a CD player for guests to use around the pool. We had some fun games around the pool and the staff enjoyed this almost as much as we did! Its not the nicest hotel patong has to offer, but for the price and the amount of time we spent it the room it was great! The rooms are huge too! With a massive king size bed. Whatever you do, do not use Get Aways Down Under to book your holiday. We were told the wrong information about a lot of things and wasted a good couple of mornings of our holiday trying to sort it out! Keam and his crew do taxi trips right out the front of the hotel and family mart. Ask for Keam, (pronounce Key-Arm)he will look after you and wont rip you off! Cost us 800THB ($25 AUD) for a whole day in the taxi with him and he wont force you to visit the gem factories like some other drivers, although we asked him to take us there as we knew he would get gas money for bringing us there and he was such a great guy! Pls feel free to email me if you have any questions!

We stayed at the Tony resort for one week after we went on a beautiful dive cruise on the Similan Islands around Christmas time.
Thailand is literally almost the "other site of the world" for me (Belgium) , but Patong doubles the surprise! I have never seen a city like Patong in my life! The traffic (people there drive like crazy!), the warmth, beautiful beach, elephants on the street, ... Unbelievable!
This hotel is situated in the middel of the city, 500m from the beach and restaurants boulevard, so locating was perfect. We had a room with view on the inner court. The room wase spacious, clean, with a good airco and ... quite! In contrary of the constant noice outsite (city center!), we didin't have any problems sleeping at night. The pool on the inner court was also nice and clean.

The rooms are fine, breakfast also OK, so I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to check out the sparkling city center of Patong.
But if you are looking for a more calm place to stay or for a family holiday, I'm convinced that Phuket has other hotels to offer!
