“The best beach on Phuket”
Reviewed 12 March 2012

We love this unspoilt piece of paradise. The snorkelling is still pretty good, but we did notice there were less species of fish swimming around than in previous years. It is well worth the price of a longtail trip to visit this wonderful spot.

“Ripp off”
Reviewed 10 March 2012

Now you have to pay for the privilege of hiring a long tail boat just to take you there, only to hit with paying another fee when you get to the beach. Total rip-off. Don't waste your time going there. The bottom end of Patong.

“A relaxing piece of paradise”
Reviewed 2 March 2012

Freedom Beach is a great quiet small beach compaired to Patong Beach if you just want to relax.
I took a long tail boat from the southern end of Patong and paid 1200bt return, I thought that was ok as I was the only one in the boat. It was a lovely scenic ride around the headland past all the hotels and other private beaches. About 15mins later arrived to a beautiful beach with palm trees and no deck chairs actually on the beach. You can elect to just plonk yourself down on the sand. Or just off the beach under the palm trees you can rent a deck chair. The water is very clean without rocks or reefs. There is a lunch hut with tables overlooking the beach but you have to get in early. It is also resonably priced, and very tasty. I spent just over 3 hours there, but you could spend the whole day. Your longtail boat waits for you for your return, but usually needs a time for departure.
I definately liked that there was no hagglers around trying to sell you stuff on the beach whilst relaxing and taking in the scenery.
Tip: Get there early, I left about 9am and was one of the first there. By lunch time all the long tail boats are there, but still plenty of room to spread out and relax. If you want to share a boat with others just wait and haggle for a better price.

“Soon to be Developed”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

There is a property battle going on and developers are in the thick of it. Primarily accessible by Long Boats from Patong Beach it may loose its isolated charm soon.
