“In tsunami crisis millennium deserves 5 stars”
Reviewed 13 April 2012

Our family of 5 are currently on holiday in Phuket . We were shopping just outside Jungleceylon when a stampede of people , running up the street . We had no idea what was going on as in this area we never heard the alarm so to be honest we thought that after the recent bomb scares it was terrorists . We were swept along in the chaos and my daughter lost her shoe outside entrance to millennium hotel, so we all ran in....by this stage we had heard a few shouts of tsunami so headed upstairs.
This was when the millennium staff took over...I am so thankful to them for their help. They guided us to the roof. They kept us informed of situation, and were in touch with authorities. We were given water, fruit, juices, and i even saw sandwiches being provided. We were on the roof for over 4 hours because of aftershocks.
We were not even staying at the hotel, but this made no difference to the care we were given.
It looks an amazing hotel, and whilst this is not a review from someone who stayed, I wanted to convey my families deepest thanks to staff and management, who through the whole ordeal worked so hard.THANKYOU.

Dear Windlestrae

Firstly, thank you for having taken the time to write of your recent experience regarding the way our hotel team handled the recent Tsunami warning and the way in which you appreciated their handling of the situation and keeping all our guests, non guests and staff safe, sound and comfortable during this Tsunami watch period.

We carry out regular training for all the staff for such emergencies with frequent practice drills being conducted on a regular basis as this is the best way to keep every member of staff ready to handle all eventualities in an orderly and professional manner.
I was indeed proud to see that every member of staff demonstrated their preparedness and readiness in this evacuation exercise.

We place the patronage of our valued guests to the hotel in the highest regard, and your kind observations have been used to help us instill in our team the importance of such exercises and indeed this will be used to help us focus even more on such operational matters to help better serve our guests in the future.

The hotel has and always will ensure that the ‘ well being of our guests remain our utmost priority, and we would once again like to assure you that our commitment to quality hospitality service standards remains paramount at all times.

In the meantime, when you choose to return to Phuket I hope that I can look forward to welcoming you to the “Millennium Resort Patong” , Phuket next time !

Once again, many thanks for having taken the time to write and share your experiences with us.

Yours sincerely

We stayed here for 2 days, just for shopping. The hotel is very conviniently attached to the Jungceylon and at the same time is very quiet. We stayed in the Lake wing in the Cabana room. It was good size, but no luxury feeling as rooms have very basic decor and are a bit tired. Having a pool was convinient for the children. In my opinion service was very good, towels were changed twice a day. Breakfast was very nice, with freshly squeezed juices made right in front of you.

Room Tip: Cabana rooms are overpriced.

We have stayed at this hotel about a week ago. The hotel is located beside Jungceylon shopping centre and it's also close to Patong beach and famous street called Bangla. Hotel was very big and well decorated. Our room (superior room) was big enough, modern furnished and very clean. Our room was front side of the hotel so it was a little bit noisy at night but not rellay bad. I want to talk about breakfast because it was really good when I compare with my other breakfast experience in Bangkok. You can absolutely find very good selections which is suitable for you. This is the hotel that I can stay my every Phuket trips.

Greetings.
I traveled to Patong and was accommodated by the Grand Millenium Patong Hotel. I traveled with the whole family of 6. One of them was a child.
We stayed between the 19-30 March 2012.
When we arrived, the receptionist refused to accommodate us for the two connecting rooms that I myself booked via Expedia. They said in a awful disgusting tone that the capacity of their rooms only fits 2 adults where in fact it can fit 4 adults .

After one terrible hour trying to convince them that 2 connecting rooms have the capacity to fit 5 adults and one child , they finally allowed me to discuss this with the manager. The manager allowed us to not pay any additional fees.

Another terrible part of the Millenium is that they literally stork and follow you where ever you sit in the breakfast buffet.
The buffet itself is not nice and their is a minimum amount of food which doesn't change after seven consecutive days.
and has a lack of a variety of food in contrast to the Mercure Patong.
The internet service is not free.

I advice people not to access any adult content because they have record of your room number and can arrest you and you can potentially face a 6 month imprisonment .

Also the customer service is horrible.

I advice people to book at the Holiday Inn Patong .

You'll feel better and more relaxed.

This is rather a strange hotel for a tropical island resort - it is part of a massive shopping and entertainment complex. The hotel conists of two different wings (which operate virtually independently of each other), Beachside and Lakeside. Lakeside is the smarter of the two and has a really lovely swimming pool. Being part of the Jungeceylon complex means you are only an elevator ride away from many restaurants, shops, massage spas, cinemas, etc. The beach is a taxi ride away or a 10-minute walk. I have stayed here a number of times, The rooms are okay, but the pool access ones are the only ones that are really special. They have a private jacuzzi and steps leading into the vast pool. They are expensive, but probably worth it. The service in the hotel is okay, as is the food, but you have plenty of other options on your doorstep.

Room Tip: the pool access rooms (also called the cabanas) are worth the premium rate in the lakeside wing

This beautiful Hotel is located in the heart of Patong Beach, within walking distance to all the attractions of the Patong Area, just near the Bangla Road, 500 meters away from the Beach and next to the Jungceylon Shopping Mall (there is an entrance to the Shopping Mall from the Hotel) which you can find some nice restaurants, stores and a market.

In general this is a nice and safe hotel with clean rooms but although this is a 5 star hotel, you can consider it as a 4 star hotel when compared to the other Hotels in Thailand. Because it has standart rooms, bathrooms are aging and needs some change and it may be one of the noisiest hotels in Phuket because of the location. But if you are planning to taste the nightlife of Phuket and you are a heavy-sleeper, that won't bother you for sure.

They have friendly and well trained stuff which is usual in 4-5star hotels of Thailand. They offer tasty & adequate breakfast.

For Honeymooners: I can say that; this hotel is not a honeymoon type hotel cause it doesn't have that romantic honeymoon type of atmosphere and location, I would recomend you to stay in an other area like Karon or Kata Beach (or else...) with a beautiful beach view and larger rooms.

Me and My wife have stayed in this Hotel in October 2010 which was our second visit to Phuket and we can stay there next time because of the Location. I strongly not recommend staying at this hotel if this is your first visit to Phuket or you have problems sleeping under noisy conditions or you are looking for silence.

Dear Keremkpr,

Thank you very much for providing us your valuable feedback. It was good to know that you liked our location, services rendered by our staff and our breakfast spread. For Honeymooners we would like to recommend our Cabana Room, which is our popular room type here which comes with a private terrace and personal Jacuzzi with access to the pool.
Hope we will have a chance to welcome you back again for your next visit to Phuket!

Watch your bill. They added all these extra charges on my bill. Drinks I did not drink, internet that I did not use. All the amount was really not that much it was principle. In fact, I stayed at the hotel for 6 days which was not cheap and after telling them I did not pay for those things which equal out to less than 40 usd..they said they would call the police on my.

Dear guest,

We were very surprised to receive your post on Trip Advisor with your allegations and we would like to respond to your comments as follows -:

- You and your family ordered mineral water (brand Minere) whilst relaxing at our poolside area and when presented with your Bar bill, you disputed the charge, claiming it should be complimentary. We daily provide 2 bottles of our own Millennium mineral water in guest rooms on complimentary basis however, in all our outlets, it is chargeable. This is standard practice in almost all International hotel brand hotels, unless of course you are on an “all inclusive basis”, which you were not as we only offer Bed with Breakfast rates.

- You had used our WIFI/internet service throughout your stay and would have been clearly informed of the charges on your screen, when you selected which package to purchase from (there are 3 such packages). As part of the agreement to the terms and conditions of our “in room “ internet service you would have also agreed to accept and pay for the internet package chosen when you clicked the, “I accept the terms and conditions” button on the screen in order to access the internet.

We are therefore very disappointed and offended that you have branded us as “Thieves” when we were merely presenting you with the charges and services that you have actually consumed.

Yours sincerely,

The Management
