We only stayed here for one night as a stopover before we went to Phi Phi. When we arrived we were offered an upgrade for a small price which gave us a better room. If we had known that it was almost 200 steps up to our upgraded room then we probably would have said no as we had travelled from London to Bangkok and then Phuket without stopping so were pretty tired to start with. The room was lovely and spacious with a veranda out the front. There was complimentary water on arrival and a safely deposit box. The pool was also a lovely feature to have as was very welcome after a long day but needed the leaves fishing out of it.
Yes there was some sort of bird of prey and a very sorry looking raccoon in a cage that would seem out of place in the UK but nobody seemed to bat an eyelid in Thailand as we saw this kind of thing in a few places.

Overall, fantastic location just a few steps from the beach, (best of luck crossing the road), the staff were friendly and the room was clean. We didn't have breakfast there but we had breakfast at a coffee shop down the road next to Outdoor Restaurant and it was really good.

Room Tip: Choose a room that you don't mind walking to!

We enjoyed our stay at Kata Hi VIew.
However, if you plan on staying here be prepared to climb some stairs! We stayed in one of the cottages directly across from the pool, and it was definitely a hike to get to our room! Keep in mind that the staff will help you with your luggage.
Apart from the hike to the room, everything was great. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. We had arranged a transfer to Patong through the resort, after we left they notices we had forgotten something and sent it with a scooter to catch up with us. The rooms were clean and spacious but basic. The hotel is fairly central - everything is easy to get to on a scooter.
We didn't have breakfast at the hotel so cannot comment on that.
On a side note - Kata beach is beautiful and you can actually swim here, unlike at Patong. The area is much more quiet and clean than Patong.

I really agree with previous review. Not bad accommodation but it is not the only you have to look for when you have to decide where to stay.

You can find FAR WAY BETTER places to stay in Kata. At almost the same price or less. VERY VERY rude and poor personal. You will hope to not have one only little problem because they will not be helpful with you. They don't know how to behave with customer.
Forget world's standard hotels good manners. They really don't know what they are. I have been traveling since 15 years and i never found someone so rude with customers.
ALSO AND NOT LESS IMPORTANT. If you love animal avoid this place as venom. They keep wild animals in cage just for the pleasure of some stupid and ignorant that in 2014 wants still to see animals in cage.

AVOID THIS PLACE.

I forget. Wifi crashes usually and if you need it for your work, you have to wait a couple of hours to be restored.

We was staying in this hotel for three nights with infant. Just checked out yesterday.
If your driver don't know where to go, say "in front of Boat House". Everyone know this one.
Check inn time was 2pm, so we had to wait 10min in reseption area. Lady was very nice, gave us one room key, wifi passwords and some instructions about short cut to the beach etc. Staff (young girls) helped to carry our sportbags to our room, on their head!! Don't forget to tip!
Also helped us when we was checking out.
We had delux room D1, about 100 steps up, bungalow just down the pool area. Big clean room, with comfy bed, clean sheets. In room there was micro, lcd tv on the wall, fridge, but no kettel. I think if we needed, we could have had it from reseption. Bathroom was also good, no mold or any bad smell nowhere.
There was shampoo and shower gel also, but no hair drier. Maybe you can ask from reseption, we just didn't need it.
Air condition worked good, but it takes time to cool down the room.
Free and really fast wifi.
The beach is across the road, 1-2min walk. In area there is a lot of restaurants and shops, you can get everything you need.
We didn't have breakfast, so don't know about that. We just went on the beach and had everything there (coffee, pankaces, fruits).
We asked not to bother us in the morning time with cleaning. The staff was really nice. Each morning they left for us fresh towels and water on our teras and empty our trash bin.
We didn't sea no racoon or eagle, so hope they let them free.
Cons
You will get just one room key, so you can not leave air condition on when go out from your room. Every time coming back in the room it feels like in sauna. So hot. And it take really long to chill down the room. Also if there is bigger family, you have to share this one key within everyone and move around together.
Noise. You can hear everything what others do and speak out of your bungalow. Each morning I woke up hearing stuff speaking with each other outside. They wasn't loud, it just no sound isolation at all. One day there was kids playing in pool area, they was screaming and jumping in the water so we couldn't have any peace at all after beach this day. Also if there is any noisy neighbor and put some music on in his bunglow, you can hear it all like the party is happening in your own room. So don't forget earplugs!
Ants. Don't leave no food in your room. They attac it right away, like everywhere in Thailand.
And the last thing it's no walking way out the hotel. Off course it's not the hotels problem. I just mention that if you would like to take a walk, you be doing it on busy street with all the cars and bikes passing. You will get used to it soon, maybe.
Even if there was some cons, I still rate it 5* as it was in good location, clean and friendly hotel with stunning view and good price.

I stay here 3 nights in the end of December, the rooms are simple but comfortable . The breakfast is ok . The hotel is close to the beach and easy walk to the restaurants. The staff is nice.
It is a good choice for a few nights.

Room Tip: It is a good choice and cheap
