We stayed here for four nights and were very impressed. The hotel is very clean with large rooms, free wifi, TV, large fridge and a balcony big enough to sit out on. It's within walking distance to the beach and close to the hustle bustle of Patong, without being noisy.

The swimming pool is small, but very well maintained and pleasant to have a dip in. We did not try any of the food as there are so many other places to eat around Patong. We recommend the night market outside Banzaan Market!

Every year my wife and I travel to delightful Phuket, Thailand for Christmas and New Year Holidays. We stay at the Orchid Garden Hotel on Soi Patong Whiskey, Patong City. The hotel is very well run, comfortable, free wifi and has own swimming pool. What we value most is that the owners are very selective on guests: with families in mind and providing quietness at night so as all guests can get a good nights sleep. The pool is only for guests and very private and never crowded. They have they're own sauna, which you can crank up whenever you want to shed a few pounds. Chinnawat is the owner and his family are very helpful It's only about 10 minutes walk to Patong Beach from hotel. The Soi is a Cul de Sac, with no through traffic at night it is a quiet Soi, rare in busy Patong. For all meal s a couple of minutes from Orchid is Shakers Restaurant, food and staff are excellent, ask to talk to the owner Olly (from Belgium) he'll provide you a great welcome. Check them out if your travelling to Phuket, you wont be disappointed. They are very reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Choose a front room on 4th floor, has a good view with balcony. Bear in mind this hotel is a budget...

We have stayed here several times. There is always some sort of problem. We have always had what I would call backside facing rooms so we are staring at a wall of concrete or a very tiny window in the bathroom. They are unwilling to provide any kind of discount to repeat customers. This may be because the owners do not speak English and the receptionist has difficulty with the language. This seems to be a cronic problem with staff work at reception except for Holiday in and higher end hotels. Our first stay was with our daughter in 2010 and although they knew that we were coming they did not have the cot ready. Our daughter is short for her 32 years. We disovered the room to have a mildew odor. The firt time I used the shower it overflowed but the maid was able to correct the problem so that the water drained and we did not have any other problems. We had a problem with the sliding door to the closet as it jumped the track. Reception told us that they would get it fixed. We were there for 2 weeks and it did not get fixed. We breakfast of eggs and toast and we discovered the butter patte had an expired date on it. We decided to have breakfast elsewhere from then on. In Feb 2013 we returned and had their Thai food which was cost effective compared to Shakers restaraunt at the end of the street. We discovered that the water from the taps smelled like mildew or swamp. It stayed that way for the entire two weeks of our stay.
On the positive side, the pool and jacuzi are great. For a short person 167 cm it was just the right depth so that you could walk the entire length. We never tried the sauna. The hotel is across the street from the Phuket Whiskey company which sells both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages including bottled water. The place is rather obscure so you need to use some reference places nearby like the Hard Rock Cafe. There is a larger hotel and condominium across the island that the cab drivers know so you have to make sure that you get to correct hotel. The hotel is within walking distance to the beach and downtown. There are several massage places just down the road.
We have decided in the future to go to another place down the road. We can do without the pool and they also have Internet but no elevator but who cares as long as the cost is less for the two week stay..

Room Tip: Rooms without balconies are cheaper. Rooms at the back have balconies with a concrete view facing A...

I arrived at the hotel and immediately put my passport in the room safe. Two days later, I discovered my passport was completely saturated with water - to the point where I will absolutely need to get a new one. It was obvious that there was water at the bottom of the safe due to the staff not being careful when cleaning it. This is not something I would think I'd need to check upon arriving at a hotel. However, the staff insisted that I'd some how poured water into the safe. After requesting to speak the manager, one "guest" who'd claimed he'd lived there for two years straight (who lives in a hotel for two years non-stop other than Howard Hughes?) insisted that I must have poured water directly into the safe. In addition to the Internet working only about 10 percent of the time...and only one of the staff speaking anything that was somewhat comrephensible as English...and having booked a room with two beds and finding out there was only one bed upon arrival and no double bed suites even existed at the hotel, I offically rate this the worst hotel experience of my life.

I stayed here with my partner for 1 night when coming back from Phi Phi island going back to Phuket airport. The hotel is beautiful with very large rooms and comfortable beds. The pool area is lovely, with a sauna and jacuzzi. The staff are also very helpful and friendly. It is about 5 minutes walk from the beach and around 15 mnutes walk from Bangla road. The only let down would be what is going on outside of the hotel, there is a lot of new buildings/hotels in the making and this could be a problem for some but didnt bother us! We would choose to stay here again.

Room Tip: We had the only room on the ground floor and this was massive, great if you have a family!
