The location of the hotel is okay. However, it is much smaller than they portray it to be and the attitude of the staff is terrible. The owner himself (or the manager) is a nice person; however, in his absence the staff was quite rude and racist. We requested them to pack our breakfast on the day we had to check out because we had to leave early, right at the time they serve breakfast. However, they very rudely told us no, we can't, you can eat breakfast at your destination too! The manner of talking and attitude was completely unacceptable. Also, when we were making the payment while checking out, one staff had told us the previous day that we could use credit card. However, the morning staff refused to accept and we did not have enough cash. When we asked to speak to the manager, he told us to literally, get lost! Extremely disgusting behavior, not expected from anyone in hospitality industry.

Hotel was small. The hotel was located super far from patong beach. I personally do not recommend this hotel because the walking distance took us more than 20 mins to reach patong beach and bangla street. It is better to take their tuktuk/taxi. per ride cost about 200 baht.

There was lizard, ants and roaches in our room. But the staff there was prompt in helping us to kill them especially the roaches. On their blanket there's a blood stain. they could have replace to a new one but they didn't. overall stay was ok because the staff is nice.

Rooms are pretty small, noisy air conditioners. Not really a place for couples. The place was clean and the staff very helpful. If you can afford it stay in one of the better hotels with views. The pictures on the website are misleading as it is down a street away from the beach and difficult to find.

We have just left the Orchid Hotel and spa, what a great experience. If you are looking for the Ritz, this is not the place but Anthony and his team provide clean, safe, good value for money accommodation. They can not do enough for you. This is the Far East so things are basic but good. Bring your own hairdryer and kettle (not provided in the room).
Use the resturant and the Trip counter - they are worth it
All in all – I’d go back

My husband & I travelled to Thailand for our first time & stayed @ the Orchid Hotel & Spa.
We have travelled to several other countries for holiday but have never felt more welcomed than we did on our arrival here.
We were welcomed with beautiful smiles & shown to our room which we found to be very clean with a lovely King size 4 poster bed.
Our room was cleaned every day, bed made, fresh towels daily & our windows were cleaned daily also.
Most evenings we had a Massage in the Spa room by professionals that were only too happy to come to us at the Hotel.
They were also wonderful.
Each evening we ate our evening meal in the Dining room & the food was exceptional.
Staff were absolutely wonderful & couldn't do enough for us anytime.
We spent considerable time with the owner & found him to be an absolute Gentleman who loves to chat & spend time with his guests in a most welcoming manner.
He also goes to great effort every morning & evening to personally speak to each & every staff member & compliment them on their great efforts with guests.
As for his "bad language" (Sarah S.) I never heard a word of swearing come this mans mouth in our entire time as his guests....quite the contrary....he IS a Gentleman.
We also met a variety of people from all over the world & joined with them & staff, many evenings to share our experiences of the day.
As to the derogatory comments made by Sarah S. of Melbourne, I find this to be totally UNTRUE.
The receptionist does NOT have a problem with English & was extremely helpful even to the point of suggesting which were the best sights to see & explaining the "Tuk Tuk" pricing system to us.
As for the Electrical Cables blocking the sea view I would suggest that would be a Government fault & NOT one that the Hotel would have any control over.
This is NOT the Novatel & as such we did not expect it to be, but as previously stated it is a Very Clean, Comfortable, & Very Friendly place to stay with exceptionally good staff & we will are looking forward to returning & will NOT be staying anywhere other the Orchid Hotel & Spa.

I'm quite surprised by the bad reviews - it was quite ok during my stay! True, the cables might be blocking the sea view but the service I received was pretty good. The owner was a cheerful man and welcomed us enthusiastically. The breakfast set was large and satisfying. The four poster bed was nice and not hard at all. The only thing I was really disappointed with would be the price of spa - a bit pricey compared to the other massage parlours around there. All in all, it was not bad!

I have no words to describe how this hotel deals with customers..u make a booking, u go there after a 15 hrs flight to be told that ups your room is not available because they HAD A FIRE!!!!!! and they offer to "upgrade" you somewhere far away in the mountains over some hill that would cost a little fortune on taxis...anyway a long borring story...after I made a fuss in the reception the owner came and blah blah blah he decided to send us to another hotel very close to them which was a little better with way bigger swimming pool..but the service...TERRIBLE again...anyway after three days we were told that our room will be ready and the other hotel confirmed TWICE that the room was ready and we can check out.GUESS WHAT??? after 3 days the room wasn't ready of course, after checking out of the other hotel we were left in the reception and told that we have to wait and see if the fire inspector shows up to give the ok for the rooms...at this stage I totally lost it and went mad and all I wanted is to go away from all this . We rang Booking.com to report and they were very nice and offered to refund some of our money...We just went to a marvelous hotel up on the hill with the best sea views and infinity pool around a 5 star on our expense after I LOST 3 DAYS packing and unpacking and taking all these from that little .../man who told us only lies..avoid!! PLACE IS A DUMP WITH THE SMALLEST SWIMMING POOL EVER AND 6 sun chairs...soo far away from what you see in the pictures, far away from anything.....the "sea view" is over the north side of a deserted beach full of rocks so don't get scammed into it

Room Tip: Don't stay there a fire might start in the rooM
