The Vijitt Resort Phuket
Ranked #4 of 43 Hotels in Rawai

Reviewed 15 March 2012

I stayed at the Vijitt from the 16/2-19/2/2012 It was beautiful, having stayed at many 4-5 star hotels in Australia I have become accustomed to nothing but high standards.
Anyone who stays here and dismisses this hotel is unappreciative of the beauty that lie amongst this marvellous relaxation destination.
The view (priceless, you could not ask for anything more stunning)! The beach not so great, pretty to look at, not to soak in. However, the Vijitt offers free shuttles to alternate beaches nearby. I did not try this option, however I have been to a beach nearby Nai Harn Beach, it's blissfull!!!
The hotel pool is also a beautiful alternative to the beach, filled with salt water/chlorine you can't tell whether ur dipping in sea water or not. The view from the pool, is a Slice of paradise, words cannot explain it's beauty...

Service was 10/10, the Hotel organised a surprise cake for my birthday and really looked after my partner and I. I have been touched by the service! They were just amazing, THANKYOU staff at the Vijitt!

Food was perfect 9/10 great taste and for some reason the water tastes a lot cleaner up south!

Room- stunning !!! We were upgraded to the pool side villa it was enchanting!!

Location, a bit remote but that's exactly what we wanted.. To step away from the husslle!!
Massages 10/10 neever been to such a tranquil setting in my life!! Amazing!
I'll be back the same time next yr
Thank you Vijitt resort

My husband and I had 12 nights here to end our wonderful honeymoon around Thailand.
I was very nervous coming here after reading very mixed reviews, we had a few minor problems but nothing that ruined our honeymoon.
Firstly our villa was fantastic with a great location. We were right by the restaurant over looking the pool and the sea.
We found the breakfast lovely and plenty to choose from. We did eat here twice for lunch and dinner but found the food and drink extremelly expensive however the food is of an excellent quality.
At high tide you can walk on the beach to the left to the next resort called Friendship beach where you are welcome with open arms and the food is of great quality but a little cheaper.
We didnt try out the spa as I found it far too over priced and you can have a lovely massage in the centre of Rawai.
The town cars provided by the hotel is very expensive but worth it if you want to go out for the night to patong. We did get a taxi from a taxi rank across the road of the main entrance for around 200 baht to go into Rawai.
After a couple of nights of taxis we decided to hire a scooter. Its 300 baht a day from the hotel but if you walk down the road you will find a scooter hiring place (same as the hotel use) and get one from there for 200 baht a day. There is no insurance in Thailand so be very careful, we found it very safe to get around and had no problems. we even went on a day trip on our scooter all around the island and it was great fun. It is too far to walk each day to Rawai and the road is very busy so do take care. It will take around 30-40 mins to stroll down the road.
There are fantastic restaurants in Rawai, we loved Rimhad seafood, see other review, Nikitas, and lots of other thai food. If you hire a car or scooter you can driver through Rawai and you will come to many many more great bars and fantastic restaurants near the nahaim beach. Our favourite bar was the freedom bar opposite nikitas, the staff are very friendly and great fun. I think it is one of the only non prostitue bars in the area!!
At the Vijitt make sure you try out the Thai restaurant as the food is out of this world and do ask for a wireless router for your room if you need wifi as we didnt know they offered this until the free cocktail party we were invited to and Natalie one of the managers told us all guests can have free routers.
One only bad thing we experienced wihoch i did tell the managment was the house keeping. They kept on forgetting towels and they were not that great at cleaning. The hotel is not 5 star for European and US standard but it is a lovely place with very friendly staff.
The main advise we will say is if you are staying longer than a week then do get your own transport.
Thanks Vijitt for finishing off our wonderful memorable Honeymoon xx

Me & my girlfriend stayed at this wonderful resort from the 24th of Feb until the 7th of march. If you have any doubts as to whether to book this resort forget about them! Its truly amazing!
From the moment we arrived to the end the service is impeccable. On arrival you are greeted very warmly and given tea & hand towels and you have to sign your details and supply a credit/debit card and passport copies. You are then driven in one of the golf buggy's to your Villa/room and on the way you are given a tour of the resort and shown around your room and everything is explained in terms of how things work bath, shower, safe etc. Once you arrive there you know its worth the long flight (if you are from the UK) and worth the money to stay there over other hotels. Breakfast buffet is superb a whole range of foods including made to order omelettes and pancakes. Whenever you want to go out you just dial 1 and you are picked up by a golf buggy and driven to the lobby or to the cab office at the top of the resort and they can arrange a cab for you or any advice in regards to activities or tours. You must island hop when you visit and the best one is Similian Islands to visit but its slightly more expensive and the transfer takes longer but when you are there you wont mind as it over compensates.A few people said on the reviews before the location is not great but to be honest the activities are all over Phuket so there is no such thing as a good location there. You are going to spend some money on cabs or tuk tuk's getting around but its so cheap out there you might aswell stay in this luxury resort and pay for the cabs to get around. There is so much to do in Phuket and the hotel will explain this to you and supply you with a document on arrival explaining what to do. The things we did are Phuket Zoo, ATV's, Elephant Trekking, Phi Phi Island tour, James bond island tour, Similian Island tour, Bangala road visit, Snake show, Monkey show, Jet Skis, Big Buddha, Phuket night market and so many other things but the island tours are a must. I could write for ages about this wonderful place and this amazing resort but you just need to book it and go there and you will not regret it! The staff are so so helpful and are always smiling and make you feel like family as soon as you arrive. I hope you do choose Vijitt Resort Phuket and i wish you a happy stay.

been there last week for 5 days, nice week and relax environment. Free trip to Coral Island well organized and good. Savory's food is nice. However the buffet breakfast need some improvement in number of food provided. Egg counter is great with their omelet, and the staff are nice.

Room Tip: get an upgrade villa for own private pool

We stayed here for 5 nights in early February. The immediate location is lovely. The people at the Vijitt are very friendly and always smile and say hello. Overall we had a very pleasant stay. There are some basic things that let the hotel down and stop it becoming the relaxing escape it could be.

The rooms are spacious, with plenty of storage and we had a large balcony. The only downside about the room was it was very close to the main restaurant and was therefore noisy. In addition one night we had in-room dining with a bottle of wine (which we had to go down to the restaurant to order) and they didn't replace the glasses and instead appeared to have rinsed them in the sink in the room (we could see they were still dirty). When we did call house keeping service was variable.

The main restaurant is fine for lunch but we preferred to eat in the Baan for dinner as it has a much nicer setting and more relaxing atmosphere. Although the service was variable - we often had to wait for quite a while for service and once they took so long to get our desert order we just gave up and left without. The main restaurant has more of a canteen feel about it but the food is the same and the thai buffet was good. Breakfast also had a fairly good choice. The downside is the music - it was far too loud when we went for dinner - it was as loud as you'd expect in a bar or club but too loud for dinner when you are trying to have a conversation.

The pool is large and lovely with good views out to the beach.

We went on the Coral Island day trip however thought it was over rated. The facilities on the island are of a very poor standard. If i was the Vijitt management and wanted to keep this trip i'd invest in some refurbished showers/toilets (or at least set expectations). The beach is also crowded. The coral we saw wasn't great - we have been lucky enough to snorkel in some great areas and this didn't really compare. The only thing we saw lots of was jelly-fish! We didn't dive so not sure if that would have been better. We did another day trip to go elephant trekking which was good fun and well organised.

We had two massages in the spa. The spa was really nice and the rooms are in a nice setting. i would recommend the aromatherapy massage. I also has a Siamese massage which i'm sure was good but was a little too firm for me!

We had a nice stay but theres definitely some room for improvement so not sure it would be at the top of my places to stay if we went back to Phuket.

Room Tip: We stayed in a ocean view room very close to the main restaurant - the view was partially obscured b...

We stayed in the Vijitt for 11 days in January 2012. I was concerned as we had booked a few months in advance and of course then I started seeing some negative reviews on here and began to worry. Of course these worries were all unfounded and the Vijitt suited us perfectly.

The pool is absolutely gorgeous and huge with a set of steps at one end that go across the width of pool. This was perfect for our son who enjoyed marching along the top step in 3 inches of water. We were there over Chinese New Year and the hotel was full and had a lot of families on short breaks and even then the pool never felt too crowded or busy.

We stayed in a standard Villa which was close to the pool/restaurant area, number 59, it was a very short steep hill to get to the villa but we managed fine, even with a baby and buggy but definitely would be struggle for someone elderly. We usually ordered a golf cart to collect us when we wanted to go to the Lobby and the system only failed us once, otherwise they were always there within minutes.

The staff don't all speak great English but then that is part of the charm of going away. However, we always got what we needed in the end so it really wasn't a problem. The Manager and Guest Relations manager both spoke excellent English and went out of their way to introduce themselves to us as so if we had had any issues I am sure we could have raised them. What the staff lacked in English they certainly made up for in charm, friendliness and kindness. They were absolutely amazing with our son - everyone made an effort to talk to him and interact with him.

I would definitely recommend using the shuttle to go to nearby Nai Harn beach, the Coral Island trip and also to Patong (but only for an evening as it is too exhausting after the peace and quiet at the Vijitt!)) and Phuket town. Also, a trip in Rawai in the early evening - go down to the shoreline (it's straight on as you arrive in Rawai rather than following the road round to the right along the beach) and there are fisherman selling their catch and you can buy it and then take it across the road to the restaurants where they will barbeque it for you. Amazing!

We walked to Rawai one evening and stopped at a local market on the right about 10 minutes away from the Hotel - great to see but not much to buy! The walk to Rawai is a good 20-30 minutes along a busy road so not ideal. The isolation was our main concern about the Vijitt but in the end it wasn't an issue as we took the shuttle or caught a taxi most days to something and it was just such a great place to come back to.

Would highly recommend the Happy Hour! They also do a good children's menu and were happy to adapt things for us. We ate in the hotel a few times and actually preferred the main restaurant to the Thai one.

To anyone who is considering going to the Vijitt but is concerned about a couple of more negative comments that have been made I think you need to decide what sort of holiday you are after - we wanted to feel we were in Thailand rather than just in a luxury beach hotel which could have been anywhere in the world.
