“lovely place, but watch the mosquitoes”
Reviewed 17 January 2014

The Vijitt is priced to move on Agoda and the other travel sites, and it's good value considering the quality of the service and the beauty of its pool villas, however the outdoor showers lead to some unfortunate mosquito issues, particularly at night. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay and the staff was some of the friendliest we met on Phuket. The breakfast buffet was sufficient, but not outstanding. The pool is beautiful. During high tide, it faces out to a stretch of the Rawai waters that is full of kite surfers, a peaceful and amusing sport to observe. (You can try it out at a facility a short walk up the beach.) Though the Vijitt is showing its age a bit, it remains lovely and competitively priced.

I'm the first to admit that a beach resort is not my idea of fun, but I really enjoyed my time at The Vijitt :-) We stayed here as the final week of our three week honeymoon in a pool villa and it was the perfect way to wind down after a hectic first couple of weeks exploring Thailand!

The accommodation is second to none and the staff are friendly, smiley and great at their jobs. The resort is built on a pretty steep hill, with the two restaurants at the bottom and the accommodation built up the slopes. It gave us some great hill training (!), but if you can't be bothered walking then the reception will send a buggy to pick you up :-)

We chose this resort as the reviews said that the beach isn't the best so we thought it would be quieter. That assumption was correct on both counts, which worked perfectly for us, but if beaches are your thing then there is a free daily bus from the Lobby to better beaches. The centre piece of this resort is the huge salt water pool, where everyone sun baths and where the bar and the non-Thai restaurant is located. The other eatery is The Baan Vijitt, a minute's walk from the pool, which serves great Thai food. The gym is small but well equipped and the spa is a beautiful and relaxing setting for a Thai massage.

I would highly recommend The Vijitt to anyone looking for a quiet and tranquil place in the sun to unwind and get brown :-)

Loved the little villas, such an exotic feel.Me and my husband chose a villa with a beachfront view.So romantic and private.
The rooms are amazing ,bathroom and dressing room were very big and we loved the outdoor shower....
The beach is beautiful. The infinity pool is large and looks out over the bay.., and the sunrise over the water; amazing. The small trolley cars picked us up whenever we neded it, such a fun tip.
The resort has everything for a quiet, relaxed holiday.it was the best experience ever;)

Room Tip: “Try to upgrade to a villa with ocean view. It really makes all the difference while staying.

The vijitt is perfection. We loved every second that we spent in the resort. I have never understood how people could go on holiday overseas and stay in the resort the whole time until I experienced the vijitt. The view is amazing and the staff are all so friendly and welcoming. Food is delicious and resort activities are great! Highly recommend for couples on their honeymoon, but we are also wanting to come back and bring children one day!

...and this is one of the best.

We went there for the last two weeks of Dec and loved it. The pool is amazing, food great and the staff enthusiastic and plentiful.

There are loads of villas. We stayed in two - beachfront 7 and sea view 17. The vast majority are identical in size and probably layout. Lovely double bed, lots of glass, outside shower.

It's all immensely clean and on the whole well run. A couple of confusions on the front desk due to poor English from some but no big deal.

The beach isn't and shouldn't be a focal point. The pool is.

We didn't venture out from the resort for 2 weeks as dusty hectic ping pong Phuket wasn't appealing.

We were flummoxed about where to go in Krabi, Phuket etc - but delighted we found this and would go back.

We stayed there 4 days on early Jan 14, the hotel itself if really nice, ample spaces, beautiful scenery, right in front of the beach, etc..
Everything is nice and clean.. so at a first glance everything is almost perfect.
We stayed on a sea-view villa (really worth it), inside it was tastefully decorated, spacious and clean. The views are just awesome... breath taking.. and there is enough privacy to sleep with the front curtains open and admire the view.

The bathroom is very nice and spacious, with a really nice "outside" shower. The bathtub has gorgeous views too.

So far so good!

They regularly spray for insects but still some mosquitoes managed their way in.. and we found some large ants too, not too many, so we weren't bother at all.
If you choose to sleep with the terrace door closed, keep in mind that the AC can be very loud, but still can use the ceiling fan.

The hotel has some bus shuttles to other beaches and to Rawai, but.. for some inexplicable reason they only offered till 2pm.. why? probably to encourage guest to have dinner in the hotel?
Have stayed on other similar-priced hotels, they all offered shuttles to the nearby cities/beaches until late night, which makes the overall experience much better, since you get more our of your holidays without depending on taxies/tuk-tuk,etc.. minor nuisance tho.

Also the hotel sits right in front of the beach (which for some reason was not really straightforward looking at some google maps directions of the hotel) ..but.. the beach is affected (greatly) by the low tide, in which the whole water disappears for several hours.
This can be a great effect and very entertaining, since (as i did) you can go really far into the ocean and explore some areas which were under the water before..
But it can be really annoying if you are looking for some beach action, since the water will be gone for the other half of the day!!

Still the pool was big enough to compensate for this.. but something to have in mind.

The hotel food was OK.. but nothing special, we tried the breakfast, thai restaurant and the savoury (mediterranean food) restaurant.. just slightly overpriced compared to other hotels.

Overall the hotel was really nice, but i will not stay for more than 4 days, since it can get really bored and you will need to taxi you way to the city constantly.

Room Tip: Sea-view villas are worth every penny.

Located near fairly busy road, the Vijitt is a place of relaxation and rest, with very comfortable and spacious villas and very welcoming service - particularly from the lady who captains The Savoury, James and all the waiters. The breakfast at The Savoury is ok and could benefit from more Asian options while lunch there was always great and varied. We tried Baan - the Thai restaurant in place - and it was good with the exception of one main course that my wife did not enjoy (steamed fish?).
There are activities in the resort for those that do not venture outside or do not want to get engulfed in the usual cruises, shopping waves, such as Muay Thai boxing, Thai lessons, etc. Muay Thai is taught by the pool attendants so you get to talk to them and find out about their lives.
We also had a treatment at the spa which was very good.
Can get claustrophobic so the free shuttle to N H beach and a couple of other places is welcomed. Would recommend renting a scooter if planning to see more of the island.
