“very comfortable hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 December 2013

My room was very comfortable. Great bed. It didn't have a view, but much of my time was spent by the pool with a lovely view of the beach. The downside is the location. The beach is not a nice swimming beach and there is very little within walking distance. This is a great hotel for sitting by the pool, but if you want something more you need to hire a car as I did (I believe there is a shuttle bus a few times a day to Rawai town). The staff were very friendly and helpful. The massage in the hotel was expensive but good.

Thank you very much for your review and we are happy to hear that you enjoyed your time at Serenity!
As you point out correctly, we are located in a more quiet spot of Phuket Island and provide a daily shuttle to Patong Beach (once per day, limited seats available) and a daily shuttle to Nai Harn Beach (once per day, limited seats available) for guests wishing to explore other parts of the island.
Sincerely, Urs - General Manager

My daughter's wedding was held here and we had 85 guests (including family). Serenity Resort catered for all of us with the best service possible. The staff were outstanding in their pursuit to make us happy and the wedding ceremony was truly beautiful. Everything ran to schedule without any hitches and all of our guests could only rave about their stay. The accommodation is amazing, huge rooms beautifully appointed and serviced to perfection. I would highly recommend staying at the Serenity Resort and particularly to have a wedding there, so easy! Maxime, the catering/bar manager is such a great guy. The girls at the Day Spa were also amazing the prices were incredible too. Thank you to everyone involved!!!

Room Tip: Our room was facing pool area and ocean...couldn't be better.

I just got back from my stay at the Serenity Hotel. I stayed at the villa facing the ocean and it was just breathtaking the moment the bell man open the room door for us. We had our own private pool which was facing the sea and that was just amazingly beautiful. However I was disappointed by various things during my 4 day stay there which included, housekeeping being unable to clear away the huge fallen tree brunches that was in front of my pool despite me leaving it there overnight and they definitely knowing that it was lying over there There were a numerous amount of times when my water supply had been cut off. My living room ipod docking system power would always cut off all the time out of no reason as well which was very disappointing also. The housekeeping can be improved as well like cleaning up the room's private pool area litter, clearing away the water in the vases on the roof top garden as well. But other than all these, my stay at Serenity has been amazing, the service staff are very polite and helpful and always smiling. Their concierge, Mann is extremely helpful, willing to go the extra mile without expecting anything. His knowledge on the tours and places to visit in Phuket are really second to none. The coffee at the restaurant beside the sea is fantastic as well with a rich aroma, just thing to start your day. Serenity is a very beautiful hotel and very peaceful hotel, just the place to be if you want to shut yourself from the outside world and recharge your batteries.

Dear Mr. Qi,
Thank you so much for your review and i am pleased to hear that overall you enjoyed your time at Serenity Phuket.
We apologize for the power cuts during your stay. Something, which unfortunately was not within our control during that time.
I shall certainly discuss with our housekeeping why the tree branch was not cleared away in front of our villa immediately after it had fallen down.
With kind regards, Urs - General Manager

We stayed here for a week and loved it. The hotel is beautiful, the pool area is the best feature it is lovely even better than the pictures, and the restaurant is great the food was delicious and not extortionate. The service couldn't be better everyone is very friendly and can't do enough for you. The breakfast was the best I have had in a hotel, you could want for nothing they had everything and it was all very tasty. We had a standard room which was nice not huge but well decorated and kept, it did the job for us as we were by the pool everyday.

The spa was very good great value and I went twice as I loved the treatments and the service there. They have various events (once a month I think) where they have buffets and performers it was all very good. I would definitely go back, location wise it is not near to much we went to the Big Buddha and to Patong from there we didn't go to Rawai both of which weren't too far but nothing was really in walking distance apart from a 7/11.

Recently stayed at Serenity Resorts and would have to say on a whole this experience was excellent. Staff all very friendly and like to go the extra mile ....especially the Bar/restaurant staff in particular Beer in Balus Bar was lovely always greeted you with a lovely smile! Also I can't remember the guys name but he wired during the day around the pol and served us drinks as we were sunbathing and also handed out complimentary ice lollies thorough out the day which were a welcome as cool down in the hot weather!!

We had initially booked a Serenity Suite and we were advised at check in that we had a free upgrade available to us during our stay and could change rooms after our 4th night which we gladly accepted. Our first suite was really big and cleanliness was excellent and would happy enough to stay in this room as more than satisfied our expectations, when we moved to our upgraded suite on Thurs which was a Seaview suite with its own roof terrace and jacuzzi we were slightly let down the suite did not have the same ambience as our first suite, the jacuzzi did not work and looked a little dated as did the sun loungers on the terrace. Cleanliness was not as high as our first suite and we found trail of ants running around kitchen work top and behind lounge curtains. Front Desk staff were excellent and sent housekeeping and an engineer to resolve these issues but suite still did not feel right. One thing that the seaview suite had was the most spectacular 360degree views of the bay and also could see top of big Buddha. Front Desk resolved our issue with suite straightaway and moved us to a Grand Seaview suite which was excellent and met all our expectations/requirements i.e a big spa style sunken in bath!

When we booked Serenity we had read reviews and were aware of location of hotel which did not put us off in the slightest. After the hustle and bustle of Bangkok Serenity was the perfect place to unwind and relax. Food was excellent-loved the Thai theme night which included buffet and also a lantern to light and send off into the stars, was great value for money.

One thing that could have been improved when we stayed would have been the knowledge when we checked in that there was a private party of 70 for Levi's birthday which meant the restaurant was booked out in its entirety for two nights in a row, we where only aware of this when we went to have dinner-though bar was still open could eat here. This was disappointing to us on the Thursday night as we had saved ourselves for the seafood and meat BBQ to only turn up at night and be informed it was booked for the private party so again had to eat off bar menu.
There was also a wedding on the Saturday which meant restaurant and bar were not available. While do not begrudge these private events, guests should really be advised of these prior to event to allow for other arrangements to be made.

If you are looking for the perfect place to chill and unwind then Serenity is the perfect choice and I would certainly stay again, though we had a few issues these were nothing major and easily resolved! Thank you for having us Serenity and hopefully see you in the future!

Thank you very much for your review and we are pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay at Serenity.
I will certainly take the time to discuss your comments with regards to the housekeeping service with our team.
Apologies that our resort was so busy with a birthday party and a wedding during the time of your visit. Something that does not happen regularly and it is very unusual that we have two parties staying at the same time at the resort.

The Serenity Resort is, indeed, a serene property. My room (suite) was spacious and included a big bathroom with comfortable shower and separate soaking/jacuzzi tub. The pool was refreshing, and the big lounging sofas overlooking the bay invited a poolside nap. The scenery was beautiful. A big breakfast buffet was available poolside each morning (though, not nearly as delicious as the one presented at the Elegance Diamond Hotel in Hanoi).

My biggest disappointment in the Serenity Resort was that I felt marooned there. Despite the great view of the bay, there is no beach to lay on / swim in - I didn't feel I needed to travel to Thailand to swim in a pool. Getting a taxi to and from one of the nearby beaches was an expensive adventure, as others have noted in their reviews (the resort should really consider hiring it's own on-demand shuttle driver). Getting to Phuket Town, or out for a night in Patong, was also an expensive, inconvenient taxi experience. The hotel has advertisements suggesting that their "beach club" was the hottest destination in Phuket, but I laughed in that I never saw more than 4 people there at a time. The Serenity Resort seemed like a good, relaxing place to take a significant other for one or two nights. That said, I can't see myself ever going back.

An important tip is to find the 7-11 directly across the street. After playing a little human "Frogger" through the traffic, you can get snacks, sodas and beer for your room at 20% of the cost charged by the hotel.

Thank you very much for your review and comments and suggestions.
As you point out correctly, it is not possible to swim at our beach during the low tide hours. This is clearly mentioned twice on our website and on many TripAdvisor comments, so guests do know about this at the time of booking.
We do actually provide a daily free shuttle bus to Nai Harn Beach 10 minutes away, for guests who prefer to swim in the sea.
We also provide a daily free shuttle service to the shopping mall and Patong beach so that guests can save on taxi costs. Both buses' seats are allocated on a first come, first serve basis and it its recommended that guests let us know in advance if they wish to book a seat in the bus to avoid disappointment.

We stayed here 5 nights for our honeymoon. It was the worst time of our time in Thailand.

Problem with this Resort:
- There is no beach close to this resort to swim in. you can swim in the pool but why did we came all the way here to just swim in the swimming pool when you're in Phuket?
- Restaurant food sucks. Not edible : Overly Salty and spiced, hard as a brick bread.
- Not close to anywhere to walk around.
- Taxi mafia out side of the resort who charges a way more than what it supposed to. From the airport, we paid 800 baht to Serenity. This taxi driver outside was trying to charge us 600 baht from Serenity to Karon area. it's only 15-20 mins drive!!!
- they offer shuttle buses to Patong and Central in the evening. they can take only 10 guest at a time so if the shuttle is booked, you're stuck in the hotel room for the rest of the evening.

Don't be fooled by the good ratings here.

Thanks for your review. You seem to have been completely misinformed before planning your trip to Phuket or did not take the time to to do your homework before travelling all the way from the US.

The fact that our beach is not swimable during low tide is clearly mentioned twice on our website and in many comments on TripAdvisor.

The fact that our resort is located in a more quiet and tranquil area of Phuket on the East coast of the island is also clearly mentioned. People come here to relax and not to party nor to go on a daily shopping spree. You should have chosen a resort near the busy tourist centers in Patong or Karon on the other side of Phuket Island.

We offer a daily complimentary shuttle bus to Nai Harn beach and to Central shopping center but seats are allocated on a first come, first serve basis until the bus is full.

We do not have control over what the local taxis charge for a trip around the island. I wonder how we could influence that? Do you have any influence over what taxis charge in your home town back in the US?

We are sorry to hear that you found the food at the restaurant too salty, which you reported to our duty manager during your meal. We offered you to prepare food with less salt, which you declined, so there is nothing else we could do to help you during your meal.

Our team here at Serenity is always willing to help guests with special requests, provided the guest is receptive to receiving help and assistance, of course.

With kind regards, Urs - General Manager
