Situated on the busy Soi Yuan road with plenty of parking next to the restaurant, there is a money changer right outside the restaurant which does not require a passport to change money, unlike the bank directly opposite. The restaurant is spacious with both outside and inside seating. Food is inexpensive and there is an extensive menu. Ideal place to stop for a meal.

The Banana Corner is closed and the site cleared for development, the new Banana Restaurant is situated opposite the series of Bars also owned by the Restaurant Owner, The Banana Bar, The Melon Bar , The Cherry Bar, The Lemon Bar etc. Along from The Western Union Money Changer.
The new restaurant is built in traditional Thai style and has only been open a short time. Whilst I have not actually eaten there, the menu looks good and should prove very popular.

They were out of both the main course and desert I ordered, it was annoying. But what I did have eventually was really nice. It was really hot in the restaurant and we didn't get the benefit of the fan.

I do think too many people eat thai food expecting Western service. I usually observe an inverse correlation between thai food and thai service. It's part of the experience for your order to be wrong and the waitress to swan around in her flip flops holding a baby and not notice you when you try to do that 'bill please' sign with your hand in the air.For God's sake, you chose to eat at a place called Banana Corner!

Anyway the food is great - and I do know a thing or two about thai food. Great paneng curry and pad krao pao gai but loads of good dishes. Honest, tasty thai food and very well priced. Outside tables are nice but put mozzie spray on as loads of plants and some stagnant water from rain (not at all as bad as I make it sound). Cute tables and chairs out in the middle of the plants.

If you sit indoors (under cover) try to get a table by the superb fish tank. It's a real treat to dine in front of the brightly lit fishies and coral.
