Just returned from a trip here. This hotel is lovely, the staff friendly, hotel grounds beautiful. I would recommend this hotel. It is situated in the south of Thailand in Rawai, there are lovely beaches around this area. Lots of restaurants, very cheap, fresh fish, vegetables, fruit. I felt safe, the local people are friendly, not overpowering, very polite and my partner and I had a wonderful time. Trips to Ko Pi Pi, James Bond Island, Elephant Safari all £45.00 with transportation and lunch. Awesome.

Thank you

Rawai palm is a well laid out hotel with a great pool area, everything you could want for a day around the pool.
The Buffet breakfast was good, the food fresh and the eating area clean with good service. The rooms are roomy with a big roman style bath in them and for the money are very good value, theybare reasonably modern and well fitted out.
Would happily stay here again as it is in a quiet little corner of Phuket with a good food strip but not the crowds

Rawai Palm was a pleasure to stay in. Room was nice, staff friendly and the pool superb. We ate the buffet breakfast each day and enjoyed thoroughly. We loved that Rawai felt like Thailand, rather than the cosmopolitan feel of Karon or Patong. We stayed here for three nights and would stay here again for sure. The location of the hotel is within good proximity of the beachside restaurants. We did not utilize any of the minibus shuttles as we had come from Karon and were looking to escape the hordes. The hotel grounds around the pool have a very tropical feel. A great surround to relax in. Thanks Rawai Palm for a great stay.

We have been fortunate to travel to Thailand and Phuket on many occasions and this now rates as one of our favourite hotels.
The location may not be ideal for lots of travellers as its not on a sandy beach, but Rawai is great for local food at good prices.
The hotel offers a shuttle bus service to other local beaches, so if that's your thing you are catered for.
At the hotel the pool is fantastic and the rooms are very well proportioned, clean and in good condition. Housekeeping do a great job everyday, making you feel looked after.
The hotel has a small restaurant that serves breakfast (very good and varied) and has evening functions. The hotel lacks a decent bar, but as there are many just outside the hotel its not an issue.
The pool also has a smaller children's pool with a sandy beach area and deckchairs for the parents as well as a sala - very good idea.
The hotel is very well booking and the rates are competitive.

Room Tip: The ground floor rooms with pool access are good for the mornings only as they are in the shade late...

We've stayed here annually over the past three years. Although they've made efforts, their wifi network just isn't keeping up and only getting worse. It's so bottle necked, you cant stream even youtube. The login system is ridiculous, the security is so high and quite unnecessary. Every time I used the WiFi on my apple device, I had to forget the network and connect to it again in order for the login page to be launched, and then enter the random six digit/letter username and password (clicking the "remember me" box worked on one device yet never worked on a different device).
The breakfast buffet is pretty bad, the usual stuff to eat but substandard quality. The pastries were quite bad, as if an armature home baker made them, with bad recipes Lots of signs warning you not to bring in outside food. The worst is the coffee. It's such cheap and bad quality coffee.
The beds are quite firm, and because the doors aren't sealed, the rooms (sofa, bad) are quite moist, from the humidity. but the rooms are very large with a beautiful egg shaped tub (although ours was a little sandy). The pool access rooms provide you with a little private pool area which is very nice.
There is a 7-11 about a ten minute walk down the beach and a dozen or so restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: The tour groups and kids seem to be kept at the back of the hotel. For pool access choose the build...

Those who have read my other reviews will realise that I use Tripadvisor to rate hotels by my experience against expectation, rather than placing a * rating based on facilities (that is for the AA or RAC).

With that in mind, I must say that this hotel has given me one of the best experiences I have had at a hotel in some time, hence the "Excellent" rating.

From the moment we were greeted in Reception at 10pm, after a long flight from Australia, and an hour drive from the airport, we were made to feel very welcome and thoroughly enjoyed the stay at this great resort.

The facilities are excellent..
The pool(s) are fantastic and we always found a space to lie and enjoy the sun. While we didn't use the little beach area, I could see that it was excellent for parents with small children.
The dining area was spacious and it was always nice to get a table fronting the beach. The breakfast buffet was well supplied and it's a bonus to get freshly cooked bacon and eggs (if that's your go). We did have a "set" dinner, which was tasty, but I doubt I would have dinner there by choice, as there are lots of fantastic restaurants within easy walking distance (Driftwood, across the road, is absolutely fantastic)
The rooms are the biggest I have seen, for the price paid, in any hotel I've stayed in. We were in a Deluxe, and had space to burn, with a lovely balcony with views of the bay. The free-standing bath was a luxury not seen in many 5* rooms. The room was well maintained and tidy.
The shuttles to beaches and to Kata in the evening were "interesting", but fun. The beaches were nice, but not really our scene, as we're not used to rows on rows of deck chairs. Kata was more "happening" than Rawai, but we preferred the more quiet aspects of where we were.
Probably the only thing we wouldn't recommend is the Resort Spa. We had a massage there as part of a package, and it was good, but with the prices double what you would pay nearby (Kim's is great), it really isn't worth it.

The staff were extremely friendly and very helpful, where their understanding of English allowed. For those who are expecting full English understanding.. remember that it now seems that the major tourists in Phuket are the Chinese and Russian. Imagine that you are a Thai in the tourism industry... you now have to have an understanding of three completely different languages, not just one.

I would also like to put a good word in for the tour desk (A&J Tours). Again, very friendly and very helpful. While they mostly "re-package" organised tours, it was great to have it all done at the hotel and with a pick-up from the front door. They also ensured we had a taxi "on-tap" (Ask for Nui.. he's fantastic) for one of the days we just wanted to "potter around".

So... if you want a quiet, relaxing place to stay in Phuket, with links to the more "happening" places, then this is definitely one of the best places on the island!

Room Tip: Our deluxe room on the 5th floor of the back block was quiet and nice. A bit of a walk from recepti...
