We went here on a Thursday night in July 2014 and were a little daunted - all the touting confused us a little but we came across Gypsy and the host Indy looked after us nicely. We bought a big parrot fish prawns and squid from the adjacent fish stall (recommended by Indy) and they cooked it up beautifully for us. So much fun - be sure to incorporate this into any trip to Rawai, Phuket.

My Phuket friend took me there, we can choose the fresh oyster, lobster, fish, prawn and any kind of fresh thing from the sea at The opposite stall of restaurant. There is the fresh market where the local people get their stuffs from the fishermen. So it is very fresh Importantly, it's quite cheap comparing from somewhere else. You can bargain them a little bit also. After you bought them, you can bring it to Gypsy restaurant to cook in many Thai style for you, or Sashimi. I love fried tiger prawn with garlic sauce, sashimi lobster and TomYum Kung..The restaurant will charge you about 20-40% for cooking like 35-250 baht per dish, but it's still cheap from my point of view. Anw, the beverage price at there is quite expensive, but It's acceptable. The staffs are friendly, they gave us every suggestion for food... Will back there again for sure..

We were recommended to come here by our resort. I am so glad we were! Indy greeted us with open arms, recommended how we should cook the snapper & prawns purchased across the lane from Na Seafood (right opposite Rawai Gypsie - not the one 3 stalls down). The dishes were sensational. I would recommend anyone looking for an authentic Thai seafood meal to drop in.
