“Very nice seaside resort at reasonable prices”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 January 2012

My friend and myself stayed at the Kiang Talay Resort for one night and we found the room and friendliness of the staff very good. I occupied a Bangalow with private pool and my friend a bungalow. Both bangalows were very comfotable and the walk to tghe beach was 1 minute. The resort has a nice pool with some seaview and the Thai food was of good home-cooked quality. The pool at my bangalow was very clean; it is a smal pool but very refreshing to take a cooling dive after a stroll along the beach. The sunset was just amazing and the beach is fantastic with very soft white sand and miles and miles of beaches!! The pool bangalow was 5000.-/baht which is a good price for a bangalow with private pool, seperate lounge area and a jacuzzi in the bathroom. The standard bangalow was 2000.- including American breakfast. Overall a very nice place to run away from the packed beaches of other resort towns. We will be back!

Room Tip: The pool bangalow is a bargain at 5000.- baht or just over 100.-/Euros. The deluxe Bangalow at 2000...

My wife (who is Thai) and I stayed here for a few days as a getaway to the usual madness in the tourist areas. In the 3 days and nights we were there we literally did not see any signs of any other guests, and this is a resort that claims it can accommodate up to 2,000 guests at a time. Yes, it was low season, but to see absolutely no one else but the staff the entire time? Definitely a bit odd. It has what looks like a decent meeting and convention center built it, but it wasn't in use. We also couldn't find a restaurant on the premises, either. The pool was undergoing maintenance, so we couldn't use it.

The place clearly focuses more on Thai clientele due to the lack of other languages in any of the signs or materials available, and very limited English language skills on the few staff we interacted with. And yet its room rates are definitely on the high-end, even for properties targeting Western tourists. A decent, but somewhat spartan, room in the main hotel building was priced at 1,400 baht per night (My wife said she could see paying 900 baht for it, maybe a thounsand at the most). For that one can get a very nice room, maybe even a suite, back in Pattaya. Villas are available, but for as much as 5,000 baht per night.

The upside is that it is directly across from a nice quiet and clean beach where one can relax among the countless beach chair/outdoor kitchen concessions that run along for quite a ways.
