Spent a few days at Lima Coco, and would recommend it to everyone. Excellent food, great service and super beach! A bit offside on the island, but gives a nice secluded feel. Since it is on the west side, the sunset is spectacular!!

An average place overall which is overpriced by Thai standards. To be fair to Lima Coco, Ko Samet seems expensive on the whole however.
The hotel is fine. The rooms are ok and clean (we saw two), with nice views. The beach is fairly clean and the water is stunning (crystal clear). The beach area in front of Lima Coco is small for the size of the hotel, however, and there are resorts side-by-side all the way along the beach. At the weekend, it can get busy. This is not a hideaway where you'll feel away from everything.
Beware also of bites. I suspect there are sea lice here. I got more than 40 very itchy bites on my back and the back of my arms, which I think were while I was playing in the sea with my toddler.
I emailed the hotel to ask why there are no warnings and they failed to reply. They also don't pick up the phone. There's a vague warning on a sign board in front of an adjacent resort saying "The resort is not responsible for skin irritations". A suggestion they know there is a problem.
The staff at Lima Coco I found to be friendly overall, unlike other travellers posting here.

If you are going to Koh Samed to relax and enjoy your holiday, please avoid this place. There location is excellent, quite clean strech of the beach but so the neighbouring hotels like Le Vimaran ( where i stayed last year) were so much better and professional. We had a booking for two nights for two room from agoda, and we were informed by the hotel that the boat for lima Coco leaves at middday sharp. So we arrived there at 12.03 pm after battling horrible Bangkok traffic, and asked the receptionist at the peer if the boat has left, and she said no its still waiting, but as we arrived 3 minutes late, the price per person has just been doubled specailly for us!!!. After arguing for 10 minutes and the boat waiting at the Pier and threatning them with cancellation of rooms they agreed that only a 50% surcharge for coming late would apply. My holiday was ruined at Lima Coco from this point onwards. The staff was rude argumentative, and unprofessional. Since i had prepaid my rooms i stayed there for two nights but never again.

Room Tip: Try booking another hotel

Dear fellow traveller,
If you want to run away from the steam of a big city and what you are looking for is a magnificent beach, white sand and crystal clear water, Theb you will be fine in Lima Coco. If however, you are looking for nice interiors, cozy room, a decent shower and value for your money, then do go elsewhere.
I was fine in Lima Coco, because I needed a paradise beach hideaway from Bangkok. But I'm also glad I only had a weekend to spare. Constructive feedback to Lima Coco: upgrade the rooms or lower the price, so that people know what to expect!

I enjoyed my stay at coco Lima even if it was a little pricey. Rooms are sparse but cool and clean and well maintained. Ao Prao is perfect for those that want to get away from everything and be on a secluded beach, as there is NO nightlife and everything shuts at 9 (I was literally glared at until I finished my beer at 9:15!) food was pleasant if a bit overpriced and staff were fairly helpful.

Stayed at Lima Coco with my family (husband, 3 kids), The rooms are very basic, but the location of the resort is fantastic. A small, quiet, very beautiful beach (Ao Prao Beach) on the west side of Koh Samet (most other hotels are on the east side of the island). The staff was really nice (especially Khun Oh at the reception). The food at the restaurant was excellent, but a little bit pricy. The rooms are up on a hill, so you have to climb some stairs to get to your room. That was a bit difficult for us since we have a baby in a stroller. There is a beautiful boardwalk close to the sea (easy to walk with a stroller). No pool at teh hotel. It was a relaxed and friendly feeling at Lima Coco with a mix of guests from many different countries. I would definitly stay at Lima Coco again!

Room Tip: Book room with a sea view, close to the lobby and restaurant.

The beach is beautiful but the small rooms which lack basic storage were only OK and for the money were expensive. Food was good but also expensive, so if you stay here make sure you ave a breakfast package. Staff were not very friendly or helpful, though I suspect they were not Thai.

A few days here can be quite romantic, but for action, go to the eastern beaches.

The surrounding resorts ahve beautiful grouds and make the whole beach feel vbery upmarket. Unfortunately their food is even more expensive that the Lima Coco's.
