I’ll probably compare this beach to Pagudpud back home. It’s just a few walks away from our resort bearing the same name and close to the airport. Lots of restaurants, bars and spas in and around Nai Yang; also travel agencies offering tour packages, money changers, convenience stores, souvenir shops. Find your best couch at sunset amidst glowing candlelights, too. Not too crowded and noisy. Partying is a little bit restrained which is good.

We walked to this beach every day and got some beach loungers for very cheap. Lots of great restaurants right on the beach with great food. Cheap massages available on the beach but you can get far better ones for less money.

Patong has gotten SO BIG and crazy that we have written it off. We had an early flight and stayed at the Phuket Airport Hotel (see our review - it was great) and had time to kill. The manager drove us down to the beach and it was quaint & beautiful, the beach was full of kite boarders and it was very laid back. There were plenty of restaurants of various scale, beach side bars and shops. If you are looking to expand your Phuket experience, give it a try.

We have been going to Thailand for a number of years, and always stay at Indigo Pearl @ Nai Yang Beach. Nai Yang is a lovely quiet beach, very close to the airport(about 5minute taxi ride) with lots of family owned Bars & Restaurants. The beach itself is reasonably tidy with just the odd bit of rubbish. All the local businesses band together on a regular basis and have "beach cleaning" days! Nai Yang beach is the perfect viewing point from which to enjoy those awesome Thai sunsets. There are lots of restaurant tables on the beach, and also plenty of the table/beds to lie back on and enjoy a drink or two.
It doesn't have the GO GO GO, or nightlife of Patong, which suits us fine.
Most bars are open to around midnight!
Nai Yang is also still quite handy to Patong(45 minutes by taxi), and Royal Phuket Marina is about 40 minutes by taxi.
You can spend the day shopping in Patong, the cone back to the quiet ambience of Nai Yang!

A lovely beach, very quiet and unspoiled at the north end, a good selection of restaurants at the other end. West facing with stunning sunsets. Close to the airport, but not close enough to be a problem.
